It is a distance out of Winnipeg but we still enjoyed being in the town of Steinbach. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We ordered desert from the restaurant and the lemon cake ala mode did not disappoint. We had breakfast at the restaurant and the breakfast discount beats a free waffle any day. More...

Sometimes in life you take a gamble on an unknown accommodation and that's what this was! There are not many options in Steinbach but this was one of them. It's a small 20 room inn with a great restaurant. From the outside you kind of want to turn around and find something else because it doesn't look like an inn at all. Rest assured it is one. The room look a lot nicer than you would assume from the outside. The staff are extremely nice! My room was clean but as you walk down the hall there almost a faint smell of urine. The is the same in the room. Once I got in the sheets and covers, the bedding smelt so fresh and clean that it blocked the other smell but not sure what it was. This facility is located a couple of kilometers east of town on Highway 52. There are no other travel-related businesses nearby, so unless you're going to drive to dinner, etc. , the Frantz Inn is where you'll need to eat, drink, etc., and they have to whole thing covered. The building contains a lounge/bar and bistro out-front with a wing of rooms behind them. The building is not architecturally interesting, and was probably built of prefabricated panels. Parking is adjacent to the wing with the rooms and access to the rooms is relatively convenient. There is nothing unusual about the room or its appointments. It was clean, had no smells, the beds were comfortable, and everything worked as you would expect. It was also quiet. Service in the lounge was good and the menu is what you would expect in a sports bar. We ate breakfast in the bistro the next morning for which the hotel provides an $8 credit per guest. The breakfast was excellent and cost only about $5 (for two) more than the allowance. Would I stay here again--probably not, because of its location. Would I actively avoid it? Definitely not, because its value for the price we paid was worth it and we had no bad experiences with the room or any of the staff. More...

The room had been recently renovated, was exceptionally clean and well appointed, microwave, fridge, usb ports etc. The checkin, restaurant and service staff were genuinely friendly.
