mark twain once said- i’d have written a shorter letter, but i didnt have the time. that’s how i feel about writing this review, but here goes.
the only reason they r so highly rated is that the rly bad reviews disappear. look through the reviews, u will see fabian watches this page like i watch my twitter. there were 3 1stars when i checked b4 handing over my pup, all saying their dogs reverted to their problem behavior once home. they‘re all gone now. that’s cuz it happens all the time and they know it, so they blame the owner and make the reviews go away. whether they use threats or bribes, i guess i‘ll soon see. but fabian, dont even bother. u cant bully or bribe me.
so, i had what i thought was a perfect pup. a female old english bully. well bred bright, engaged, responsive from day 1. never failed a recall, learned basic commands quickly, eager to please and got along well w my 2 other dogs, and old male victorian bully and a big male pyrenesse cross. they were the best of buds, playing all day. til, at 15 mos, they werent and she decided she wanted to kill him. not exaggerating. viscous fights that were tough to break up.
now, this was my 12th puppy, my 16th dog. i have been training my own dogs and studying dog training/behavior since 1980. neither ignorant or stupid.
after 3 mos in hell, trying to fix it, and keep them apart, my age and health led me to turn her over to found. i’d sent 2 other dogs to them in the past and they were fine. at her evaluation, i told the trained what went wrong, what the root of the problem was, and why sop measures had backfired. no need for them to figure anything out.
i enrolled her in the 4wk program for aggressive dogs. i got back a dog that was worse. way worse.
the program is fundamentally flawed. they ignored my goals, did not even attempt to address the root cause- food guarding. such a common problem, but never addressed. they totally discounted my knowledge and experience. the head trainer pissed me off so badly i demanded someone else to do the weekly 1-1 sessions. at least i got that. her main trainer was great. she poured her heart and soul into my girl.
but because their methods r so flawed, she got much worse. she performed well there, but when she came home, and i wasnt shoveling high value treats at her all day, she reverted immediately. she had a ‘red zone’ reaction the morning after she came home.
she’s made a lot of progress since i got her back. cuz i know what i am doing. but the only benefit of her time at found was- everyone got a break from her, including me, and i found out she didnt want to attack every dog she saw, but wanted to play. this was seen in the rare ‘report card’ vids i got. the 3rd 1 of which was her w someone else’s dog, w her totally unrestrained, running around like maniacs, in and out of a room where the trainer had no sight lines. i asked them if they were insane. i told them i didnt want her to play w other dogs. i dont use day care and i dont go to dog parks. said i wanted her to work around other dogs, and ignore them completely. but play time is the staff easy time, so they continued to let her play. now, she sees another dog on a walk and goes completely berserk. from 30’ away or 100’, she whines and tries to get away from me.
my plan was to take the other dog in for a ‘tune up’, he is a graduate of boot camp, plus a week of ecollar training, then take her back for the second week, so they cd b reunited on neutral territory, and worked together. after i made my goals clear, ie, eating together in peace, i sent them a vid of the 2 bullies, eating perfect peacefully together and asked them to replicate that the best they cd. i was told this was dangerous and they wouldnt do them.
so, i bailed on that plan, picked up the other dog and will fix this myself.
i cd go on for days here about the flaws in the program, but i’ll end w- this is a persistent problem, they know it, they dont care.
i’d also advice anyone considering them to check their glassdoor review. former employees describe understaffing, and even 1 complaint of sexual harassment. i’m happy to answer questions in the comments. do not let these ppl anywhere near your dog. but
and fabian, dont even bother. you’ll be hearing from my lawyer soon. you’ll only make it worse.
y’all have f’d w the wrong old lady.

David & Leo are wonderful! I cannot thank them enough for all their help w/ Rocky. Rocky was a very leash reactive dog that would lunge and growl while on walks. They helped show me how to properly walk him and how to respond in these situations. We are still working on it but we are now able to control most walks and he was able to be in a room with 6 other dogs with no outbursts :) More...

This place is amazing... I wish I could give them more STARS!!!!!! I can’t stress enough on how much I love this please. This is Zoe she is a 2.5 year old Cane Corso. “ Italian Mastiff. 110 lbs. When Zoe first went to them just a little over a few months ago I was not able to walk her without being able to have control of her. Most importantly I was not able to walk next to another dog or person. She would just bark and be out of control. It’s hard to control a animal that weighs a little more than you and let me just add I had 4 knee surgeries. Zoe did the Found boot camp. Outstanding. There’s a gentleman name Leo who is a trainer and took Zoe under his belt. Zoe is not the easiest to become friends with her look and size and how she always wanted to be on guard all the time. It was hard to get near her. Leo has no fear he jumped in and change my girl let no other. I would get daily updates from the team while she was living there for the two week. During the first two weeks Leo and Ryan made sure I understood everything that was going on and the Why of everything. The why is important so I under the reasoning behind what is being done and how it will help my dog. And if I had any question they would explain to me so I understood. If I had any corrections that I needed to do but was unable to due to my health they were able to help me adjust and correct for my needs on how to do a correction in my way that I could handle her. After the 2 weeks. Leo continued to work with us and Now Zoe and I can go on walks she does not try to go jump on anyone or does not go insane when she is in the front yard. Before she would just bark if someone is out there and would stop. We have had a few trainings at found with boot camp and I have also had a few in home sessions to better understand how to correct Zoe in home. Leo was great he shows up on time and is 100% focused and loves Zoe as if she was his own. They all do at found. Most people are scared of her. Not this place they don’t judge. The front desk staff is amazing scheduling whenever you call they do their best to accommodate and get you in when you need it. Thank you Leo and Ryan for taking Zoe in and making her feel at home. Fabian I think is a manager. If it wasn’t for him explaining to me why he thought this program would be best for Zoe. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU DOG. DAY CAMP IS AMAZING AS WELL. Searched for a training facility that offered board and train for my anxious bichon. Little guy is 3, and I am so glad I put him through the program at found! Not only did the 14-day program keep him safe, fed, and allow him to mingle with other dogs, but he got personalized training daily from excellent dog trainers, and we get to go through 6 weeks of group training too. This board and train is well worth the price and my dog is able to enjoy life more. Obedience is key, and Found training center can definitely help your dog! More...

Rufus just had his first day of daycare last week and by the look on his face getting picked up, HE LOVED IT! Not only was the staff respectful and knowledgeable, but it was obvious how much they actually cared about his well being and safety. The videos that were attached to his report card were awesome as well. In the video they spoke about his body language and how he reacted to certain situations in the play group. They match dogs based on how they will interact with each other :) We really appreciate the specialized groups and making sure it is the right fit for Rufus! All the daycare attendants were very attentive as well. The attendant who brought him up front knew everything about his day, he wasn't just another dog to them.We also signed him up for a treadmill session! They also did a report on this! He was one happy and tired pup after his day of fun at Found! We will definitely be returning! Thank you! More...

I did follow up training with him there for several weeks, which was offered with the boot camp. It really helped me learn how to navigate handling his behaviors. I tried a couple of other dog daycares, but Found is the only one that can effectively tucker him out. He goes there every day and it is a life saver! We boarded our dog at Found for about five days recently and it was an excellent experience! He's a rescue and has issues with insecurity and fear and they found a group of dogs he fit in well with, which we were thrilled about! Something else wonderful about Found is that, even if they can't find a group for your dog in which he will interact comfortably, they will spend time with him and do agility training one on one instead of just leaving him in a tiny room all day! (I don't think they even have tiny rooms they keep the dogs in to begin with). We are also interested in taking our dog to Found for training and/or daycare as well as future boarding - we are so happy to have found them (no pun intended). More...

My boyfriend and I enrolled our 2 dogs in a 2-week bootcamp to focus on leash training and are so thankful for the results! We have a 1-year-old 15 lb. Cockapoo and a 2-year-old 65 lb. Goldendoodle. Both are loving pups but became wild on walks, pulling us in various directions, etc.  We live downtown and this became a major problem, especially with our larger, stronger dog. I read other positive reviews about this facility, so we went for the consultation and then decided to go for it.  We trained with the dogs and trainer, Luke, halfway through the program and already saw results.  When we picked them up a week later, we trained with Luke again and then brought the dogs home.  At times I am in disbelief, but their obedience continued at home for us and walks have never been more enjoyable!  The package also included follow up training sessions, which we will partake in as well.  We continue to work with the dogs at home daily.  They seem to respect us on a different level and our relationship is better all around.  I highly recommend this program for leash training or other issues you may not have the time to commit to focusing on.  THANK YOU! I have a 4 year old toy rat terrier who had MAJOR anxiety and fear based behavioral issues due to bad experiences with other dogs in the past. It became super stressful when he started biting. That is something I could not tolerate. I know that me spoiling him had an impact on that behavior as well. Harley is now able to tolerate being around other dogs. He even goes up to dogs on occasion during our walks. He is much more confident and disciplined overall. I came in for a consult with David, who gave me some tips on what to do in the mean time before his bootcamp session started. Ryan was super helpful with any questions I had and gave me tons of pointers on what to do and what not to do. Luke was very helpful during our private session, giving me tips on how to get harleys food drive up. I did not get a chance to talk with Leo but he did an awesome job giving me feedback through the videos they send during bootcamp. Each trainer has been so helpful during this process. This program is definitely worth every penny! Not to mention, prices are not bad at all compared to others. Although you do have to be consistent with what is taught. Otherwise, don't bother. I've used a couple daycare and boarding facilities in Chicago; Found has been a cut above. I have never lived especially nearby, but it's been worth the commuting effort; I even moved an extra 10-15 minutes farther away last year, and tried another place closer to my new home, but I changed course and returned to Found because of their superlative combination of dog-care expertise and customer service at a rate that compares with other facilities. My dog loves it there and I really appreciate how they treat him and how they treat me as a customer.I have a pitbull who is very friendly but has a ton of energy, strength, and athleticism. He can be a handful for the average person. Found trainers -- and more important, their *day to day handlers* have, in my experience, the knowledge and ability to give my dog the attention and correction he needs to socialize enthusiastically with other dogs. He plays with other dogs of a similar play style and is allowed to be a big, energetic dog while always having that energy directed in a positive direction.I also have used Found's boot camp -- this is how I first encountered them -- and their boarding service and have done two different training classes. Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly, and generous with their expertise. Very positive experiences all.I also appreciate that there is a vet next door. They're not technically affiliated, but that has been very convenient for checkups as well as a relief for any possible emergency care that might be necessary. More...

My husband and I adopted a dog (male, pit/boxer mix) from a shelter about 2 years ago now and have had problems with his behavior starting after about 6 months of bringing him home. We tried multiple trainers: from one on one behavioral trainers to training in other facilities and we could not fix or even get close to changing our dogs aggressive behavior with dogs and humans while out on walks in our neighborhood. We were feeling helpless and didn’t know what else to do with our dog until about two months ago when we brought our dog, Chief, to Found. Immediately, we started working with Leo for an initial assessment with Chief. With his aggressive behaviors, we ended up doing a 2 week board and train with him. Leo and Fabian (our saviors) took him in as their own. As we were hesitant to leave Chief with someone for two weeks knowing his aggressive tendencies, they worked with us and with him to show how they would work Chief to work through his behaviors, not punish, but also not ignore the aggressive behaviors. We received updates during the boarding process, and were able to come in twice during the process to work with them and him, to best learn how to help him learn new behaviors breaking him of his instinctual barking/growling/lunging. We are now part of the way through private sessions which are included with the board and train program and Chief has improved so dramatically, I could not have better things to say about Found and their trainers. It brings me to tears explaining the impact Leo, Fabian, and all of the Found staff have had on Chiefs life, and on our lives at home. We know Chief is a lot to work with and a difficult dog, but Found has helped tremendously with his behavior, making our lives with Chief completely different. We 100% suggest this training facility and its trainers. More...

I was astonished at how quickly David introduced his dog to ours and had them off leash near each other with no problems in the first class! I thought this could take years. It's rare that I write a Yelp review but Found absolutely made me feel compelled to! I feel like I lucked out a bit on my rescue. He was found in a dumpster in Puerto Rico on death's doorstep. He made a miraculous recovery then he came to Chicago to be my forever puppy. That said, he is still a puppy. As a puppy dad, I feel responsible for ensuring my young lad lives his best life. As do all people, dogs require a sense of purpose. Dogs are compassionate, affection beings but they are also tough. They take a step on the toe with a yelp (pun?) and keep on walking. We could all use a lesson from dogs. That said, Leo from Found, taught me more lessons than I ever thought I could learn about dogs. I grew up with dogs. When I was 7 years old I went to school early the day after we got my first dog and stood outside of my first grade classroom door with a picture of him because I was so proud. The pride I felt then doesn't hold a candle to the way I feel now. Leo and everyone at Found not only enhanced my dog's life but they enhanced mine as well. I 100% recommend taking your dog here for literally anything. If my boy loves Found, your boy or girl will too!P.S. My puppy boy gets super excited every time we go back. To me, that means a lot! We've had only 2 one hour private sessions  with Leo so far and the behavior has already improved dramatically.  He clearly has a lot of knowledge and isn't just throwing generic dog training suggestions out there. Our primary concern was our dogs aggression and overall hyper reactions to other dogs so Leo brought out his own dog to help create the situations we need to work on, and within about ten minutes I saw improvement and had a much better understanding of what I need to do to get the dog to behave in a healthier way.
