I have been going to Foto by Eva for years to capture those one of a kind moments. She is extremely patient and will take as much time as needed to make sure she has gotten multiple good shots that makes it so hard to choose from at the time of the viewing. Eva took the most beautiful portraits of our 6 week old baby girl. Eva and her assistant Kathee work pure magic with newborns! Our baby girl is so colicky we almost canceled our appointment the night before. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Being able to capture a natural expression is the most important. Of course, you must be able to make your subjects feel comfortable and relaxed.
They need to forget that they are in front of the camera. Having the best equipment and the correct lighting is also a must.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I usually ask my clients to come to the studio for a consultation first. This is a great way to get to know them. We sit down and go through portfolios to gather different poses they may like and talk about what they may want to wear, etc.
If you desire a head shot, a phone consultation is all we need.
What do you love most about your job?
I think photography is a miracle! Being able to freeze a moment in time is priceless.
I love the innocence of a child's face and the challenge of capturing an individual's true self.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My children were modeling in New York and I became fascinated with photography. Several years later I was doing model photography for ad agencies.

I have been passionate about to my work for over 30 years and have many return clients who are very loyal.
