I booked Jerry for a videography session at a congress in San Diego in December. I paid additionally for a rush job (a 2 day turnaround). Initially Jerry was very responsive and helpful. However, following the shoot he became less available and I had to keep contacting him to ask him where the final version was. The sound quality was also of low quality and while he claimed that would be fixed in the final version, it was not. He then stopped replying to my messages and did not provide the final small pieces promised to me of the shoot. Based on my experience, I would not use his service again in the future. More...

During the initial contact period and day of service, Fotility was responsive and prompt. They told me that the finished products will be delivered within 1-2 weeks post service. After the service on June 9, I began to follow up by emails and text on June 26 and continued nine more times through August 16 without any responses from Fotility. As of this review, I still have not heard from them nor received the photography and videography services that I paid for in full. It is incredulous that what seems to be a reputable company has clearly taken advantage of our time of loss and took our money but had no intention of providing the contracted services. What kind of people do this? What kind of business is allowed to go on and rip off other unsuspecting victims without paying for their crime? I will continue to follow up on various resources to hold FOTILITY PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY and their owner JERRY ROXAS accountable for their blatant fraudulent business practice and disregard for the law. But most importantly, their gross lack of respect for humanity and most especially during a time that we mourned for our father's passing. We wanted to pay for professional services so we can focus on the funeral service on that day and have beautiful memories of the service to cherish. Now we have NOTHING because of the fraudulent Fotility and Jerry Roxas. For whatever it's worth, my review is but a small way of sharing our heartbreaking experience due to this heartless and greedy company and its owner. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME<br><br>He took photos of my family as a trade shoot- in which he use a few of those photos to market a mini session he was offering. I was promised the gallery in 72 hours. Here we are going on three months later. Still no images. I'm ignored and as I leave questions under his comments now to get his attention for the images promised I'm getting other people who have messaged me. Mentioning how he flakes on their wedding photos. I myself am a full time photographer. My rates are priced accordingly to my cost of doing business while his aren't. But I guess the saying goes. You get what you pay for in my case nothing. <br><br>Yet images you hire him to capture your wedding and you get nothing. For myself I want these photos not only cause that was the agreement, but because my daughter was in a accident a couple weeks after the photo and lost a few teeth this is the last family images I have of her full smile. BEWARE - Do yourself a favor and skip the good reviews and read the bad ones. If your willing to chance that the good Jerry shows up at your event - go for it- if not STAY AWAY! <br><br>I hired Jerry to shoot some products for my Amazon site and sent him hundreds of dollars of merchandise. He proceeded to take 2 pictures of 2 items (which were totally off color and balance) and sent them as the samples. When I mentioned the color issue - he was gone ! Ghosted me. <br>I should have paid attention to the negative reviews. Their all TRUE -<br><br>No response to eMails - No response to phone calls or voice mails - His answering machine always answers that he's on a shoot and leave a message. 9 AM, 12 PM, 3 PM. This man is always on a shoot - has no secretary and never returns his calls. <br>I asked for him to return the merchandise - at my expense (they were my only samples) and no response. Resorted to sending him an attorney's letter - no response.<br>Now he's displaying my merchandise on his site as Amazon product  photography. Jerry did a great job the day of the wedding. I got a lot of comments from the guests that he was very friendly and interacted well with everyone. And the pictures are beautiful which is the only thing that really matters to me which is why the five stars.<br>I had read the reviews before using him and was worried about some of the negative reviews but in the end Jerry was a very talented and friendly photographer. The only issue is he was not the best with communication. We tried to get a hold of him the weeks before and got no response despite emails and voice messages. I don't know maybe he goes on long vacations out of the country in between jobs . . . Â So he made us a little nervous. I was glad that we used Lily & Lime company so if anything went wrong they would back us up with a different photographer but in the end we didn't need to worry. My husband and I hired Jerry for our wedding in December 2018. At first, everything was perfect. He was very professional and we were so excited to hire him to capture our special day. The day of our wedding his team showed up late which delayed the first look and made us late to the ceremony. Our ceremony was unplugged, meaning our guests we're asked not to have their cameras out. We wanted nice, professional photos without arms and phones sticking out in the aisle. Jerry was all about it and assured us we would be more than pleased with him and his team. We did receive our preview photos but have yet to receive all of the photos 6 1/2 months later. Our video was only 26minutes long and needed revisions, but the link now does not work and he has yet to fix that. My husband and I have contacted Jerry many, many times and after a few months he has totally ignored us. The last we spoke was in April and I was told we would have everything by 4/22/19. We asked for all photos unedited as well as the raw video footage, but have yet to get a response. Unfortunately, we are now flying out to San Diego from NJ to handle this legally. Being 7 months pregnant this is the last thing I want to do. We really trusted Jerry and his team and are very disappointed that he has been so unprofessional and disrespectful. We held up our end by paying for a product that was never delivered. This is fraud and theft which is why we have to fly across the country to figure out a legal solution. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
As a professional event and portrait photographer in San Diego, one of the things that I strive to do in each of my sessions is to capture the true personality of my subjects. Whether its an engagement shoot, graduation portraits, maternity photos, family portraits, business headshots, or fitness and lifestyle shoot, I work hard to make sure the images I take reflect the true personalities of those in front of my lens. This means getting my clients to relax and be themselves during our time together, as well as giving them helpful tips and tricks to make them feel good and look their best in their photos!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The most important thing I ask nearly all of my clients (regardless of the type of shoot I was hired for) is what is the story they want their photos to tell? More often than not, this one question gives me so much insight into the style, composition and professional photo editing techniques I'll employ during their shoot. The stories my clients want their photos to share often determines whether or not I shoot them cropped or full frame, soft or harsh lighting, creative brushes or natural images.
What do you love most about your job?
I spent the first part of my professional life in offices and behind desks, negotiating deals, developing financial models, creating business plans and managing day to day operations in a variety of organizations. Now, my job owning and operating my own photography studio allows me to get out, experience what the world has to offer, and meet new and amazing people on a daily basis. I get to witness, capture and share some of the most incredible stories that are so often taken for granted, and I find this truly rewarding!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I took up photography to kill time, when I suffered sudden congenital heart failure and had to have open heart surgery. After weeks in the hospital, I was sent home to recover and was physically limited from doing much (including driving) for several months. I spent the time watching instructional videos on portrait photography, as it was something I had planned on taking up in my retirement years. I quickly became obsessed, invested in a startup DSLR camera, and outgrew it in less than 6 weeks! Wanting to continue my photography growth, I made a larger investment in a professional, full frame digital camera (Nikon D750), and started adding multiple lenses over the next few months. Soon I was taking photos for friends, who then started referring me to others. I quickly discovered that with my prior business experience, I could actually build a business foundation doing what I truly love, and the rest is history!

Every photographer is different, so clients need to make sure they pick a photographer that can provide them with the photos in the style they want, expect and deserve. I'm blessed to have a natural eye, and have a passion for shooting in a very wide variety of styles, so my photography skills apply to a very broad range of needs. I maintain a strong, online presence, reputation and rating, and I'm an above average communicator. My operational background has allowed me to build a company that is focused on keeping my clients informed (from the moment they book with me, through follow up calls and emails, to sending them samples and final images). Lastly, all of my clients ALWAYS receive helpful tips and tricks to help them look their best, as well as literally thousands of posing suggestions on my Pinterest Boards!
