Thought I would try out Yo Chef's new restaurant, wow, seriously the naan was warm and soft and the egg and cheese was soooooo good! The eggs were real not the flat weird eggs the other places serve. The food from YoChef’s was delicious! They didn’t seem very organized at the first meeting though, because the lady we worked with kept forgetting things and acting like I was supposed to know what to ask. So we didn’t feel great after the first visit, but we stuck with it because we had heard great reviews from other people. From start to finish my experience with Yo Chef’s was amazing! The food was delicious, Pam was very helpful. She answered all of my many questions and was very quick with her replies. YoChef was an amazing caterer for our wedding reception. We were really nervous choosing our caterer, and they definitely met our expectations. Our food tasting was excellent, and the food for our reception was even better. It was the only caterer we tasted where the food didn't seem commercialized. Yo Chef's catering handled my wedding this past October and they were incredible. Chef and Pam (and everyone I met!) were incredible and the service was just as great as the food (which was amazing) and I could not have picked a better catering company for my big day. I loved my meetings with them probably too much and missed them after the wedding was done. They have cooking classes (for adults and some for kids!) and my husband and I are going to one of them in a couple of weeks so we can hang out again! I cannot recommend them enough! You will NOT regret anything about your choice if you go with them! I almost forgot to add, Pam worked with me to secretly put out a tribute to my mother's "extra set of parents" who had made petit fours for her wedding to my dad years ago and Pam made sure they got put on their own table with the photo of them (they've passed in recent years) as a surprise to my mom to make sure they were honored as well as other grandparents who had passed. Very professional appointment planning a wedding. They answered all of our questions and gave us plenty of options! We are very happy and looking forward to their delicious food as always! Months later we had the wedding and the food was amazing. Plenty of great staff and more than enough food. I am a Chef and I even catered my own wedding! I wanted to enjoy this wedding of my son and Chef Joseff exceeded my expectations. Guests came up and told me what a great job I did, I told them I didn't do the food. Yo Chef was an amazing choice as our dinner and hors d'oeuvres option. When we went for the tasting, it was like be served a personal gourmet meal by Chef, which was AWESOME. I cannot say enough good thing about Yo Chef catering! Pam is amazing!! She is helpful, friendly, and honest! We had a wedding; 300 person plated dinner and YoChef went above and beyond to make sure all guests were served delicious hot food. We offered two options for dinner and there was not one mistake. They even accommodated a guest that had a food allergy. The chef walked by all of the tables during dinner to ask how the food was! The service was amazing and the food was even better! We had a wonderful, stress free experience while working with YoChef's Catering for our wedding on New Year's Eve! From the beginning, Pam was very helpful, accommodating, and organized. She made sure we were completely prepared for whatever we could possibly need from a caterer on our wedding day; from food, to linens, to cake cutting. As for the food, it was delicious! Steve, Robin, Nikki, and their staff did an amazing job before our wedding, and on our wedding night. We chose to have three food stations - polish, Chinese, and potato. Our guests RAVED about the food and are still giving us compliments every time we see them! All three stations tasted amazing and there was plenty of food for all 145 of our guests, plus leftovers.
Steve is really willing to work with you on your ideas and needs for your party. Cassie was quick to respond to calls and emails, and if she needed the answer from Steve, we heard back the same day.
We had mini desserts that went over really well too. The chocolate covered strawberries were "the best I've had ever had" a lot of our guests said. We had a late night snack with pretzel bites and pizza too which was very good! We really liked the selection of different mustard for the pretzels.

The owner as well as the coordinator were great to work with! They met me at the location a couple weeks before the wedding as I was freaking out about where everything would go, and what times without hesitation and made me feel soooooo much more relaxed about everything. From the beginning I told them my budget wasn't huge as we were doing it all ourselves and they told me what we could do for the budget I had, and stuck to it the entire time for the food, and bar services. Everyone raved about the food, everything was there on time, and everyone of the servers was super helpful. I don't have one complaint about this company. We decided to have a winter wedding reception at The Cheney Place where FOODesign is on their preferred vendor list (both for the bar tending service and for catering). We decided to do 3 different stations (Asian, Italian, & Mexican) so that we could provide our guests with some variety. Some of our guests were gluten free and Chef Brech was so accommodating by labeling the items on the food stations so that they could enjoy it as well. Chef Brech even made us some to-go containers so that we could enjoy the food later knowing how busy we would be on the night of our reception. He worked with us with our budget so that we could get the most bang for our buck. His attention to detail, professionalism, and his accommodating attitude are what make me highly recommend him for any event where you want to make a lasting impression. A huge thank you to Chef Brech and his team!!!! FOODesign catered our wedding and I couldn't have been happier with a catering team. Even though my fiance' and I had to cancel our initial meeting with Chef Brech VERY last minute, he was understanding and agreed to meet with us at a later date. When we visited him at his restaurant in Grand Rapids, he and his staff were very courteous and helpful. He was also kind enough to buy us a round of drinks while we were there. He was extremely flexible with us and was more than willing to work within our budget constraints. Not to mention, the food was amazing! We got so many compliments on the beef and chicken, which were grilled on site for our outdoor reception. The wait staff was professional and friendly, and they didn't interfere with the party at all as they cleaned up their equipment. We also hired 2 bartenders through FOODesign who also did a great job and kept up with the flow. YoChef's Catering Company was great to work with. Liz was very responsive to e-mails and was able to answer all of my questions. She was beyond helpful! She posed several questions that I would not have thought of on my own and it really helped me plan the flow of events for the day of the wedding. The food was amazing at the wedding! We received so many compliments. The service from the wait staff was also exceptional. Both Liz and Joseff (the chef) checked on us throughout the night. You can tell they really care about their clients. Overall it was a great experience and we would recommend them to all!

The food was wonderful, and the chef Josef is very nice and down to earth. However I would recommend not working with his wife Liz if possible. She takes days to respond to simple emails and although we had proof through email that certain things had been requested etc she still seemed to forget. From what I understand there is another "planner" you can work with, so do not be afraid to request the change if it will make you less stressed:) Also, save your emails (as you should with all of your vendors), they will come in handy when she claims you hadn't sent her certain information when you did.

We opted for two choices for the main course. The prime rib was great, but the champagne chicken was rather dry. This was understandable, however, due to the fact that it was sitting in large buffet style chafing dishes. Everyone was served promptly, the linens, glasses, and silverware settings were all in order, and the staff was very accomodating and prompt. We only met once with the coordinator, and everything we asked for was there on the day of the wedding. Chef Brech was very accommodating to the type of food we wanted for the reception. We wanted Tapa's and he didn't offer them on his "Catering Menu", he told me to get a list of food items that I wanted and he would provide a tasting for us. I provided him a sample menu of some items we wanted and he provided a sample tasting of those items for us to choose from. All were simply amazing! They also provided the table, chair, table linens, linen napkins, silver, glasses and plates for the reception...all were great. The only suggestion I would make is that the table linens be pressed or steamed at the reception site, ours had very visible crease lines in all of them.
