Flowers by Alana

My husband and I hired Alana for our small intimate wedding at Trillium Lake back in June. From the beginning of our vendor search for a florist, I had a vision in mind. I wanted something unique that would fit our venue and my style perfectly. I had seen Alana's work in a staged wedding shoot she had previously been a part of and was blown away by her work. I was a bit nervous that someone would understand my vision, especially since we only spoke on the phone since my husband and I live in CA. After our phone conversation, I just knew that Alana was going to make my vision come true! She was so well versed in guiding my thoughts on what I wanted and how to execute them into the perfect bouquet and arrangements. Throughout our communications leading up to the wedding, Alana was always professional, kind, and very responsive. I added a few items closer to the wedding date and she made it happen without an issue! On the big day, Alana arrived promptly and with all the flowers neatly in tow. Although we only interacted for a bit, her work completely spoke for itself! I was in shock when I saw my bouquet and the rest of my arrangements. It was exactly what I had in mind- and she was able to pull it off with only a phone conversation, a few emails, and my Pinterest board in tow. If you are a couple with a big, bold vision, Alana is your GIRL! We were so grateful she wholeheartedly embraced our ideas and truly brought our vision to life. We asked for a moody, woodland fairytale and that is exactly what we got - and much more! She perfectly captured our intention and got creative to work within our budget, adding ideas and concepts we hadn't even considered. For our wedding we decided to lean in to the vibe at our woodsy venue and just have greenery with no florals. Alana did an incredible job bringing our vision to life. She is genuinely talented and it is clear she takes her role very seriously. In all honesty, I barely saw Alana day-of since she was setting up while I got ready and did first-look photos with my partner. But when I arrived at the ceremony and reception sites everything was set up on time and looked stunning. It was nice to have everything ready to go with no hiccups and nothing needed from me whatsoever.

There were a few times during the planning process where we went back and forth on price and there were definitely moments where it felt as though Alana did not appreciate my trying to cut back in order to fit a tight budget. The $1,000 minimum was not mentioned until after our initial consulting call and pretty far into our email discussion. That said, her prices were similar to other florists in the area and in the end it felt worth it the incredible skill that went into making everything look beautiful. When my husband left me for another lady I was so hurt and I used to cry every day. Whenever I could miss him I could just close my bedroom and cry because I never wanted my kids to see me crying. It was tough times to endure the stress and at work, I could not perform well being a nurse I work with on many people but I could be moody and could even lose tempers for small things my colleagues complained and I signed many warnings before the matron. I tried so much to move on but it was hard I love my husband sometimes I could see him in my dreams wake up thinking he would come but nothing, I used to SMS him but no response calling him he never picked my calls and finally blocked all my numbers not even to support the kids. many times I tried to talk to his family and friends they tried their best but he had completely changed and he regarded everyone as a stranger kept a deaf ear on everyone who tried to talk to him. I resorted to sangomas and spell casters but not even at one time did I see a change. I started drinking alcohol because I couldn't handle the stress but as you all know once you are drunk you are out of stress it could be worse once the alcohol is out. I can't forget the day I came back home and our firstborn asked me where is Daddy I miss him a lot why he is no longer coming home I never gave a right answer I went in the bedroom started crying at this time. I thought a lot of bad things but again because I loved my kids I knew I had to be strong because it was my role to play as a mother. I phoned one family friend she is such a darling to me and she gave me a number of Mama Nana +27672073600 she said she had helped her two years ago I had lost all my trust in everyone but she strengthened me and gave me the go-ahead to try Mama Nana +27672073600. I thought about it with all my heart and finally decided to contact Mama I made everything known to her and she said that we had a future with my husband and we are compatible but the lady had used something on my man which had diverted his feelings away from not only me but also from the whole family. I was so angry at this point and I asked how-how it was possible to get him back. mama assured me that I would get my happiness back in three days Before I began the prayer with Mama Nana +27672073600 and sent her my info with that of my husband I was given the instructions of the prayers we did together over the phone and after the fast day my husband texted me saying hi it was not a big message but I was so happy for that small massage I never replied though and after 48 hours of the prayer my husband came home I was not home by that time I was by neighbors I heard the car hooting and rushed to see who was it. He asked me to sit in the car we talked he was so romantic and he asked my forgiveness since then our lives have been progressing both in relationships and finances. It was over 3k, but you wouldn’t know.
I should’ve gone with my intuition and went with someone else after she asked for the pompas grass to be returned - to be picked out and given back to her, no rate compensation for it. But then she said she found another vendor who could provide her with the pompas and I wouldn’t need to return it to her. But the day of my wedding, there wasn’t anything that was disappointing except for flowers. I asked her about the limp dead looking flowers, she was rude and said that’s the way the plant is. I know what limp brown old flowers look like.

Alana is an incredible professional that any couple would be fortunate to work with on their special day. A month before the wedding, we had some floral adjustments for the ceremony- she took our idea and ran with it, going above and beyond anything we could have imagined! Alana clearly loves what she does, and has an obvious talent. It is such a joy to work with people who are passionate and talented! When we arrived on-site, she checked in with us to make sure we loved everything, and how could we not! Prior to working with Alana we thought about doing out own florals. Talking to Alana about my vision was great! I felt good about the vision and everything on the day was beautiful, but I thought everything was going to be a little bit ‘fuller’ than what it was and especially for how much money I paid (specifically my bouquet, arbor and table garland). She was also so busy that she couldn’t do a walk through at the venue with me, which makes your planning as the bride a little bit more stressful.
