Nona is the BEST florist I could’ve asked for! Flowers at weddings are super important to me - they’re the first thing I notice at any wedding. I don’t know much about flowers, at all (ie, don’t know the names, don’t know how much they cost, don’t know how to arrange even a basic bunch in a basic vase lol). But Nona made my vision for wedding flowers come to life. And we got SOO many compliments from guests about how beautiful our floral arrangements were! During my first meeting with Nona, I had nothing finalized - I showed her my ideas for my bridal gown, bridesmaids dresses, and groom/groomsmen color ideas. I also showed photos of flowers/colors I liked, along with some examples of arrangements I liked from her yelp page. And we reviewed/finalized all those ideas a couple weeks before the wedding. And that was all Nona worked off of to bring my vision to life. I had no clue what I would see the day of, but the moment I saw the flowers, I was 100% satisfied and so very pleased. I kept admiring the flowers every day for as long as they lasted, and even tried to dry as much as I could to make them “last” longer. Additionally, Nona is flexible. I let her know my budget, and she helped me get as close to my budget as possible by making some changes to the initial proposal she sent (ie, shrank the tall/large centerpieces by 2-4 inches, which was fine with me - they were still huge & larger than average!) Nona deserves more than 5 stars! She's so talented at what she does and also very creative. I wanted something timeless, yet simple and romantic and boy did she deliver! She went above and beyond my expectations and I can't thank her enough. My wedding flowers turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined it to be. All of our wedding guest loves them. They even said it lasted about a month! Tbh, Nona is so easy to work with. She knows exactly what you want without you even having to say much. Us: "Nona, we would like..." Nona: "say no more". Her prices are very competitive but it's worth every $$$$. If you're looking for a florist that's highly experienced and know what they're doing, Florist Studio is the place. Nona Saved my Party! Our decorator was a mess and screwed up everything possible. Nona's flowers were so beautiful and grand that they saved the day. Everyone was amazed at the large centerpieces her team created. All the guests were fighting to take them home at the end of the evening. Out of all of my vendors, Floral Design Studio was the best decision I made in the five month planning for my parents 50th anniversary. Nona's work is absolutely incredible! She created the most stunning floral arrangements for our wedding. Her attention to detail and eye for beauty came through in every arrangement she designed for us. I was completely in love with my bridal bouquet and my bridesmaid's bouquets. She took the soft pink roses and hydrangea that I told her I loved in our initial consultation, and she carried them all throughout the ceremony and the reception in uniquely different ways. The trumpet vase arrangements at the church where perfectly repurposed at the reception by being placed on each side of our head table to frame it beautifully.The centerpieces on the tables were both high and low arrangements, giving the room perfect height and dimension. The high arrangements were especially unique, as she had placed tiny twinkly light installations inside of them. Three weeks post-wedding, our guests are still telling us they were some of the prettiest arrangements they had ever seen.Thank you so much for bringing our wedding day to life with your flowers, Nona! Absolutely 5 stars. Beautiful flowers, wonderful service, and excellent pricing. Everything from the amazing altar flowers, the pew flowers (so cute), centerpieces, bridal bouquet, and the boutonnieres. AND, Nona did this remotely for us . . . the bride was in Boston, parents in San Diego, and the wedding was at the Mission San Jose in Fremont. Best part -- Nona is so stress free. One of my friends recommended Nona from Floral Design Studio after she had a great experience with her own wedding. I have to chime in with my enthusiastic agreement that Nona is fantastic to work with and her flowers are phenomenal. On top of that, she has so many beautiful decor items for rent that it eliminated us needing to go through other rental shops for additional things.We met a couple times in person, first to design the overall look, choose a color scheme, and figure out the amount of floral pieces needed. Just prior to the wedding, we finalized the order and discussed the exact kinds of flowers that would be available. She has many flowers at her studio to give clients a better idea of the color tone and type of flowers that she'll use. As someone not very familiar with gardening or plants, this was super helpful.Also as mentioned in many other reviews, Nona is great at thinking of ways to repurpose ceremony flowers to decorate tables and other locations during cocktail hour and reception. And she and her team helps move them as well. The final quote seemed very reasonable.In particular I have to mention that it was difficult for us to find an arch that I liked, but Nona came through and saved the day with the perfect arch and then decorated it beautifully with drapes and florals. She even helped attach the strings of tissue paper flowers my mom made to the arch as well. Along with her team, she will also do breakdowns right after the ceremony (cleaning up petals, etc) and will return later after the reception for the rest of any rental items. Our venue took care of the rest, but the guests loved the flowers and they all disappeared by the end of the night anyway ;)Would highly recommend Nona for any of your floral needs. We hired Nona to do the floral decorations for our wedding ceremony in Oakland last weekend. She was brilliant from the start: smart flower choices, a keen eye for color, and a good sensibility for what works well with your dress and tux choices. She was able to provide us with a very reasonable estimate and I felt reassured that she knew what she was doing from the beginning.On the day of the wedding, she came early to decorate the pews of the chapel, and delivered the most beautiful, vibrant bouquets I had ever seen. I ordered a flower arrangement for my sweetheart table at my engagement party from Nona. I showed her a photo to see if she could recreate it. She asked me if she could tweak it a bit to make it her own, and I trusted her. She made it even better than the photo! Nona is extremely underrated. My fiance at the time actually found her ( I was about to pull my hair our from coordinating the wedding on my own). No other decent florists in the South Bay were within my budget, and I wasn't highly impressed with any portfolios. Until Nona. After talking with her in person at her studio I immediately felt a connection and was at ease with all her suggestions. She works GREAT off photos for inspiration. She had advised that my flowers would be more expensive than usual because my wedding was a week before Mothers day and that she would try to make my greenery themed floral table runners as full as possible but not to expect exactly the photo I showed her. The price was definitely reasonable ( I had gotten numerous quotes) , the flowers were LUSH and FULL. All my guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the flowers were. Highly recommend! I found Nona through yelp, just called and went in for a quick chat and I hired her. I showed her the center pieces I made, I love that she did not even try to change any of my ideas. I showed her just couple pictures of how I like my arch and bouquet, it came out perfect. I couldn't be happier. I talked to another florist, they tried to ask me to have them do the center piece and charge me more, however, all Nona did is to provide flowers and set up whatever I already have so I don't have to worry so much. When I saw my bouquet and the arch at the wedding, I couldn't be happier, so beautiful and exceed my expectation. Couldn't thank her enough for making my day so much more perfect!! I wish they didn't take down the arch so fast so I can use as props for pics. But they have to because they are using the big flowers for our table decoration which also beautiful! After I seeing Nona's incredible portfolio on her website, I booked a consultation for my wedding. Right off the bat I could tell she knew her stuff, Nona was straight to the point, no BS, and that was what I loved about her, a woman who is passionate about her work! After discussing my wedding colors, themes, and favorite flowers, Nona was able to quickly recommend several flower combinations that fit what I was envisioning while staying within our budget. Nona was a godsend. Our initial meeting with her, we knew this was the right fit. She's very responsive throughout the entire process and edited us on some of our crazier ideas. She advised us on what flowers may look amazing to go along with our color scheme. The best part was her ideas on how we could repurpose the flowers between the ceremony and the reception. That really kept us within budget even though her suggestions may have cost her a little extra on her side.On the wedding day, we were floored by how HUGE the pieces really were and how well it went with our venue. She completely understood our vision and helped deliver some of the most beautiful floral arrangements I have ever seen. I am NOT a sentimental person but I never want my bouquet to die!! Its so pretty!
Nona worked with us to find the brightest, funkiest, most fun flowers for our bright and fun day and they were gorgeous. Not only that, but she worked with us to keep our budget in check, helping us to figure out which pieces from our ceremony to reuse at the reception. She even STAYED TO MOVE THE PIECES!!! I don't feel like we had to sacrifice anything and we got amazing service!

I can't begin to describe how blown away I was by Nona. My wedding flowers were more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Nona needed very little direction. I've been meaning to write a review for Nona for awhile now. Flowers are one of those things that elevate weddings but cost quite a fortune especially the bigger your wedding. My husband knows I love flowers and convinced me not to restrict the budget so much because the only other time I'll be surrounded by so many beautiful flowers for ME will probably be at my funeral. And I can't enjoy them then...might as well enjoy them at my wedding! LOL. But that being said, my budget was still kind of set at a certain amount and Nona worked really hard with me to fit that budget and my color scheme. My color scheme was dusty blue with accents of peach, creams, blush and blue is kind of a hard color to pull off. She had great ideas to help me achieve my budget and some of the same looks/colors I was going for. The arch piece that she did was so fantastic, and the bouquets! My gosh...I hung mine to dry afterwards which is a great reminder of that day! We did hurricane vase trios for most table centerpieces and a few select tables had bigger, taller centerpieces for more oomph. I had friends ask if they could buy/borrow the hurricane vases for their wedding because they loved Nona's set up so much! I will just leave it at this--trust her. She's got great vision and she's very easy to work with! Also, if you pay with check/cash, she doesn't charge the tax..not sure if this is still the case, but that could save you some money too! My aunt actually helps out Nona sometimes with floral arranging and so we were referred to her for our wedding, naturally. She has a great eye and sense for colors and flowers and will work closely with you to design something that you love that is within your budget! We had the most gorgeous floral arch centerpiece that also doubled as a centerpiece on our sweetheart table and lovely bouquets for me and my bridesmaids. Flowers can be a pain to get for a wedding. They are expensive and you really don't know what you're getting. Nona takes care of that. Don't get me wrong, it's still on the pricey side, but her prices are much more fair than some of the competitors. Nona is extremely nice and even has a pretty cute dog that might be present. If the dog is present you might have better luck in your wedding planning. The flowers looked great at our wedding and there really wasn't much more I could have asked for. Flowers are difficult - you don't get to see the final product until the day of, and I worried about what it would all look like when put together. If you're a control freak like me, that is very hard to accept. I thought about doing our own flowers so I could see the product ahead of time, but as we got closer to the wedding day, it became obvious that that was going to be disastrous.I saw a photographer blog post for a wedding at my venue and fell in love with their arch. I had to ask the venue to look up the florist from that wedding. Nona was amazing - she remembered the wedding in question and was very professional in all our meetings. She was also very patient and worked to make everything fit our budget. I showed her a picture of the cascading bouquet I wanted - she drew a sketch of it and on the day delivered a bouquet so gorgeous we all gasped when we took it out of the box. Calla lilies are my favorite flowers ever (seriously, I made my parents plant some in the backyard when I was a kid) and I wanted the centerpieces to be all callas - she reassured me that mini callas would actually look better than big ones and she was right, they were the perfect size.And the arch! Oh my god the arch was even better than the inspiration photo. The most perfect white orchids stood out against a backdrop of blush roses and white hydrangeas. Curly willow branches masked the iron arches, and at the bottom stalks of blooms (delphiniums, maybe?) rose out of a bed of more hydrangeas and roses. Everyone wanted to take pictures of it, with it, what have you. Nona even came back after the ceremony to move the arch inside for the reception so we could marvel at it all night. At the end of the night my (nerdy) friends went to check out how the arch was constructed and noticed that several stems had a little vial of water attached - it's that kind of attention to detail that kept the flowers looking fresh all afternoon in blazing hot July sun and all night long. Even now, a week later, people are still talking about how magnificent the arch was.Pro-tip - I asked a bridesmaid's husband to help set up a GoPro on the arch. He came by the venue when Nona was setting up the arch and they managed to hide the GoPro in a very inconspicuous but excellent location. I knew where it was and I still had to look hard for it. Nona is amazing!! I described to Nona colors and general ideas for what I was hoping the flowers would look like..didn't really know exactly myself what I wanted to be honest. I am in love with this floral shop and their florist Nina (Arlene). She was so helpful from the very first day we met!! She was super responsive and extremely friendly! ! She made me feel so special and was always there for me to talk and to make me feel less stressed. She went above and beyond with her services. Not only she gave us good prices, she would throw some complimentary stuff in here and there. All she wanted is for us to be happy. I was probably the most difficult customer to work with because I changed my mind every week and eventually admitted to myself that I didn't know what I wanted but wasn't ready for surprises. Well, I guess Nina is a very good listener because somehow everything I said came together in an amazing bouquet, best bouquet I've seen in a while and I've seen so many! If I could go back in time, I would choose my bouquet again and again. The centerpieces were awesome too! Loved the manzanita branches, the crystal garlands, everything!! Nona and her team are INCREDIBLE! I cannot stress enough how amazing their work is! She made our wedding dream come true.. My husband and I reside in Los Angeles, so our first conversation with Nona was over the phone.. We spoke for over an hour, however, it was a GREAT conversation..
