There's not much to say about Zenia and her team that all of the glowing reviews here have not already said! The floral pieces that Zenia designed for my November wedding were absolutely stunning -- both exactly what I had pictured and then so much more. Every time we met with her it felt like I was talking to a friend because Zenia was so excited about making our vision a reality. It's been several years since I have logged into Yelp to write a review, but I simply had to write one for Flor Del Monte. My husband and I recently got married at Salvage One, and three months before our wedding date, we still hadn't selected a florist. Our friend recommended Zenia at Flor Del Monte, and I'm so happy she did. From our first phone call, Zenia was a pleasure to work with, and, though we had some unconventional ideas (we were commissioning a potter-friend to make the vases for our centerpieces), she was the only florist I spoke with who seemed genuinely excited to work with us, and could work within our budget. My general rule when planning my wedding was "let the professionals do what they do best," and that definitely was my approach with the flowers; aside from telling her we wanted fall colors, and for the flowers to look a bit "wild" we really gave her free reign when it came to her designs. A few weeks before the wedding we met and she showed me a few flowers she had in mind, and my husband and I were both delighted. She came to the venue on the day of the wedding with the most gorgeous arrangements I had ever seen: roses, succulents, ranunculus, and lots of flowers I can't even name. We had so many compliments from the guests. I'll post a few pictures, though they don't do the flowers justice. I wholeheartedly recommend Zenia to anyone looking for event flowers. Wife and I are super happy we found Flor Del Mont! We didnt really know what we were doing just browsing random Yelp reviews and we seriously lucked out. The flowers were gorgeous and everything went totally seamlessly on our wedding day. Rates are very reasonable makes me wonder where some of these other florists come up with crazy numbers. Zenia was the florist for our May 19 wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made!  She also was the florist for my best friend's wedding the year before so I knew her work was lovely.  Somehow she had the ability to read my mind and turn our venue into the beautiful and enchanting space I pictured but couldn't fully describe.  Also, when 12 tables with pre-wedding set up turned into 20 tables with a room flip about 5 weeks before the big day, she assured me it was going to be just fine and that she had it handled.  Zenia is the total package - affordable, creative, communicative, talented, and an all around great person to work with.  If I could do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing.  THANK YOU, Zenia, for bringing my vision to life!!! She made me feel that I, and my wedding, mattered despite that we weren't a big budget affair. PROPOSAL PROCESS The Flor Del Monte proposal process felt very personal, professional and simple. I met with Zenia in person and discussed our needs / color scheme. She seemed to quickly understand the vision for our wedding and was able to offer ideas on the spot for me to consider. She provided a formal proposal about 4 business days later. The proposal was very detailed and also very flexible, outlining optional ideas to plus up / reduce various elements. She also proposed 3 unique centerpiece concepts to add versatility to the room design (and to help balance the budget). During our initial meeting, we actually did not discuss an official budget; as a result, Zenia's first proposal was about $2K more than I had hoped to spend. I provided this feedback and she quickly provided an alternate proposal that met my needs. BUDGET By the time I came across Flor del Monte, I had explored many alternate florists, and had actually contracted with another company that proved to be very difficult to work with. I can genuinely say that Zenia provided more for our money than I had seen with any other florist - in terms of cost per centerpiece/bouquet and, more importantly, in terms of creativity. You will not get "cookie cutter" floral from Flor del Monte. PRE-WEDDING PLANNING Zenia and I held one additional meeting to discuss final details and had a few conversations by email. She is extremely professional - all emails were responded to promptly (within 48 hours). She definitely knows her flowers and I trusted her completely. You can let Zenia and her team do their thing without micromanagement. THE FLOWERS Our flowers - the bouquets, boutonnieres, cake flowers, centerpieces - were absolutely gorgeous! They were romantic and exuded simple elegance. Also, our bouquets were out of water for about 4 hours (for the ceremony and wedding photos around Chicago). They lasted perfectly (no browning or wilting) and we were able to re-use them for the reception as planned. My only sadness regarding the flowers was that we didn't consider a plan for giving our centerpieces away at the end of the night. We had rented the vases from Flor del Monte so it wasn't as simple as people just taking them off the table. The flowers were soooo beautiful that I wished they had ended up in guests' homes. My personal bouquet still looked absolutely perfect the next morning and dried perfectly (while we were on honeymoon). I strongly recommend you hire Flor Del Monte for your next event! Zenia's customer service is exceptional, she met with my husband and I twice before our wedding July 1, 2017. We provided her with a basic idea/color scheme of what we wanted and allowed her to run with it -- beautiful end result. My bouquet composed of coral peonies, apricot ranunculus, etc. was the perfect accessory. Additional items were delivered to my apartment in a timely manner. I called Zenia of Flor del Monte on February 13th because my grandmother passed away and I wanted the most beautiful bouquet possible for her. I knew it was the day before Valentine's Day and that it's one of the busiest days of the year for florists. Would they agree to the order? Not only did Zenia show compassion in taking the order, she also gave me several options and worked with me on a beautiful palette of whites and purples. When I saw the work they did and the customized card they included for me, I was blown away. In 2014 I said that Zenia was 'Flower Genius" but now, I need to raise her up to "Miracle Worker" status! On Thursday night my Son announced that he was going to deliver his "Prom Proposal" to his girlfriend on Friday afternoon. When I asked him about "the plan" he told me that he was going to pick up some 'flowers' at CVS and ask the question. Even though I was aghast in the inside, I played it cool on the outside and offered my help. He accepted; whereas,I rushed to the phone and gave Zenia a call and sent a follow up email since it was after hours. Over the course of the night, I received a response from Zenia with two words,"...no problem". With her help my Son will have beautiful flowers from a true "Flower Genius" to deliver to his girlfriend. Not am I delighted by Zenia's last minute help; I am hopeful that my Son will learn that there is a difference between receipt of 'just flowers' to that of a beautiful gesture that comes  from ones heart. Zenia is a sweetheart. She blew us away with her ability to capture our eclectic thoughts and turn them into magical beautiful masterpieces for our July Chicago wedding. I went into our meeting with such a limited knowledge of flowers and colors and prices. She was able to handcraft these [highly affordable, FLAWLESS] bouquets that matched the dresses and suits PERFECTLY! Hints of bright blue with gray and blush and ivory. Bah! How she did it... I really don't know. We were 100 percent satisfied and sincerely appreciative for her services. Zenia is a dream, I mean truly. The easiest part of wedding planning was working with her. I walked in with a rough idea of what I wanted and she immediately started pulling up images, sketching things out, and working through it creatively with me to come up with an amazing vision. We then connected once more again before the wedding, went over all the details (that she totally handled) and basically ran away with it so I could focus elsewhere.

The day of, my chuppah (in a church no less) was just absolutely stunning, my bouquet was everything I dreamed (robust, lovely), and the girls flowers were gorgeous as well. My husband and I decided that we could plan our wedding in under 4 months, set for February 13th, and all the while never considered how hard it might be to hire a florist over the busiest flower weekend of the year! She was not only so easy to work with, but the finished product left everyone in awe! I had a preliminary phone call with her, where I discussed what I was looking for, and my concern for not spending too much on florals, because we all know flowers are one of the most expensive parts of the wedding. I told her color scheme, and what I had envisioned for the space. Being the indecisive bride that I was, I changed and added to the contract multiple times, but Zenia had no problem working with my changes. Even though she had worked in the venue multiple times, she personally did a site visit to make sure everything we had talked about would work in the space. Our flowers were beautiful and Zenia totally got our vision. We had a winter wedding and her choices in floral were perfect. She was able to show us photos of what she was going to do, and also added our own flair. She will help work in a price range you are comfortable with- and is very upfront about what things cost.
Amazing to work with, very attentive to detail, and her response time in getting back to us and also with the contract details was great.

Flor del Monte was such a pleasure to work with and I feel like we got a great value for our money. The company is family owned and Zenia took care of us the entire time. Right from our initial consultation we felt confident in Zenia's design abilities and seemed to really know what I was looking for based on pictures I showed her and what I described. After our consultation, Zenia drew up two separate proposals, each at different price points, which we appreciated. Both were done very well with great detail, and I didn't feel like she was pushing us toward one option over the other. Ultimately, we were able to incorporate pieces that we liked from each proposal. As our wedding got closer, I contacted Zenia to tell her that I had added another color to our color palette, and she was happy to adjust our contract to incorporate the new colors and design. We met one final time at her studio to see a mock up of our centerpieces and we were really happy with the results. On the day of the wedding, Zenia's team arrived as scheduled with our personal flowers and went to get to work on our ceremony and reception space. My bouquet was absolutely gorgeous and all of my bridesmaids loved their flowers as well. Our reception space looked gorgeous and overall we're so happy with how everything turned out. I cannot express how wonderful my experience was working with Zenia. From planning to execution, it was a seamless, stress-free process with a positively stunning result. I found Flor del Monte through Yelp. After our introductory call, Zenia instantly understood the floral decor I wanted for my wedding. I had previously had a few florists balk at my modest floral budget but Zenia quickly came back with cost-cutting blooms and clever ways to make the entire space feel incredibly lush and full-- all under budget. Because I was planning remotely, Zenia arranged for my parents to preview a sample bouquet and was very receptive to suggested changes.The day of the wedding, I was unable preview the space before walking down the aisle. Loved Flor del Monte for my daughter's wedding at Newberry Library in Chicago on 9/5/15! Zenia is fantastic to work with. She is so creative and beautifully carried out my daughter's vision for her flowers . Zenia also provided the chuppah which was exactly what my daughter wanted -- birch poles, incorporation of a grandmother's tablecloth, lovely greenery, and a minimum of flowers -- all with a very natural look. I cannot say enough positive things about Zenia and Flor Del Monte!!  Zenia is sweet, talented, and made our wedding so beautiful!  We got married at the Bridgeport Art Center Skyline Loft.  Zenia made a breathtaking chuppah with lush greenery, and created the most beautiful centerpieces.  Zenia was always easily available via email and phone, and in-person to meet and discuss logistics.  She made the whole process so, so easy!  Thank you so much Zenia!!!
