We are a small, creative interior design practice with varied experience in both residential and commercial interiors. We also specialise in high end interiors for rental properties. We understand briefs, deadlines, working with contractors and that interiors need to be functional as well as good looking. We are proud have been awarded Best of Houzz 2019 for 'Design' and 'Customer Service' and the Bark 2019 award for 'Excellence' which reflects how hard we work to create beautiful interiors that our clients love.
We offer all clients an initial 30 minute on site consultation at your property for £30+VAT (some travel costs may apply depending on the location of your property). This allows us to talk through and 'walk through' your brief, understand your hopes for your space, and learn what you'd like us to help with and gives you the chance to see if you like our vision and initial ideas for your space and let us explain how we work before you hire us for the job. We've found it to be an exceptionally good way to make sure the match between us and our clients is completely right. It means we are proud to say we always have happy clients!

Flippa Interiors Q&A
What’s your interior design process?
Initially we like to find out as much as possible from the client about what they want to achieve from working with an interior designer and what their hopes and aspirations are for the space they'd like to work on. That's why our initial 30 minute consultation at your property is so essential for both parties. It costs just £30+VAT and it means we can talk through and 'walk through' your brief, seeing first hand your space and understanding from you what your brief is, discuss the space together and talk you through initial ideas and thoughts for the work.
After this initial consultation, if you think you'd like to hire us we can give the client a 'guesstimate', which is a rough idea of how much items cost and what our fees for the project would be. Once the guesstimate is approved and the first stage payment is made, we will go to the property, measure up and then draw up the plans. The floor plans will show; any new room divisions, additional rooms en-suites/bathrooms, kitchen layouts, electrical /phone/TV points, lighting, heating and furniture layouts. We often show a couple of versions for the client to choose from.
After the plans have been decided upon we can move to the design stage. This is where we create an illustrated visual showing various schemes and called a 'Mood Board' showing; paint colours, fabric swatches, curtain treatments, flooring types, wood finishes, lighting, furniture, accessories, art, etc.
Once you have chosen a scheme that suits your style and the environment best we can work up a more detailed estimate.
The next stage for us is liaising with the builder/trades to make sure that they understand the scheme and how we want the final vision to look.
We will then start procuring any items you require, so that once the builder has finished we can come into the property and install, assemble, hang and arrange all the items. We always remove the rubbish and get the space professionally cleaned once we have finished so that you can move straight in. Different projects call for different approaches and on some interior design projects it may not be necessary for us to purchase or install furniture etc on behalf of the client. Some of our clients prefer to do this part themselves. However, we offer a full service for anyone requiring it and have many excellent tradesmen who work for us on our projects, as well as a large number of trade accounts so can offer our clients more than is available on the high street.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
Flippa Interiors can cater for all interiors styles.
We feel this quote sums up our philosophy:
“The essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live. It is about the realities of what makes for an attractive, civilized, meaningful environment, not about fashion or what’s in or what’s out. ”
What do you love most about your job?
I love the look on my clients faces when they see the new space I have designed for them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I grew up in the hotel industry with a father who was hotelier and a mother who was an interior designer. I have had the privilege of working and living in Sweden, India, Indonesia and Australia which all have fabulous design cultures and have really opened up my eyes to colour and style.
I have always been in the design industry but started as an art director in Advertising. I became a interior designer when I had kids as I wanted to run my own business.

Cosy Apartment in Henley-on-Thames
Our client was relocating and needed his new rental flat fully furnished and kitted out as it was an unfurnished let. With strong views about it needing to be a place to relax and entertain after work, but with absolutely no experience in interior design, our client wanted us to guide him. We spent time getting to know his likes and tastes so we were then able to come up with a concept for the look of the flat and the style of the furniture. We needed to make sure it would all work cohesively together and in discussions with our client he was clear it needed to feel cosy and welcoming. We introduced warm colours such as burnt orange, tan leather, blues and reds which would compliment the magnolia walls (no decorating of the walls allowed). With the addition of great accessories, such as striped rugs, fantastic Abigail Aherne and OKA cushions we gave the entire apartment a fresh, relaxing and homely feel. We selected and supplied everything from a new bed and mattress right through to cutlery and crockery and with everything in between! All our client had to do was pick the key up from us and enjoy his new home - we did all the rest from coming up with the original design and look through to buying everything and then fitting, installing and even removing all the rubbish and packaging to leave an apartment ready for its new occupant to sit back and enjoy!
