I have been with this client for 2 years and 1 and a half was locked down, no support during lock down. I got quoted and agreed 1 price but when I gave them my account price increased and more and more cost starting to developed.
Current accountant retired without informing me and asked if I wanted to continue the account not new accountant who took over the account bothered to contact me to introduce himself and price changes until I called up query why not heard from my accountant. No contract was ever signed not proffessional all done verbally and then its my words against theirs now that the original account had left. I am aying soucj for a small business to do the accounts and payroll. Now I want to change accountant they threaten me they won't transfer until I pay in full. Yes its the right thing when I am in contract or the agreed fee. My staffs has no payslips or payments as they won't do anything until I pay them in full. My new accountant can't proceed the transfer either.
For anyone who is thinking of changing their accountant, please make sure you get in writing all fees applicable to what section its for within the tax and check all your invoices as I have had to ask them to correct their invoices a few times before paying it as they miscalculate and sometimes don't deduct what has already been paid and charge you twice. I will never recommend anyone to use this accountant unless you know what your charges are as extras will crop up as you go along and you can not argue with them its your words against theirs. Not proffessional at all lack of communications and I would never recommend anyone to use them.
