We contacted Jake regarding a missing roof tile. Within the hour Jake contacted us to say he would take a look the following day. Unfortunately where the tile was missing meant that it wasn’t an easy job. Within a week Jake had organised scaffolding and got the job done. Keeping us informed all along the way with messages and photographs. We highly recommend Jake and his company. Nothing too much trouble. More...

Well what can I say, Jacob and his team were fantastic. Very organised polite and a joy to have such a enthusiastic professional local firm carry out our project which was a small extension and a newly slated roof. I’d definitely recommend Jacob to anyone needing building work done. More...

I asked Jacob to design and construct a new balcony fence for our holiday let cottage in Polperro. Not only did he complete this task to a superb standard, and completed the work on time as agreed, he also displayed a lot of flexibility to help me with lots of other jobs that cropped up at the same time, including plastering work and refreshing the exterior window sills. We'll definitely be using him again, and would recommend him to others. More...

we had Jacob and his team in to knock down and re build our retaining wall, facing the block-work with stone, showing great attention to detail, it looks marvellous, being new to cornwall we really didn't know who to get, but FCS came recommended by the local newsagent. Clean & Tidy, quality workmanship and all at affordable prices. Thank you Jacob and all at FCS! More...

Q&As

Well firstly the structure is key, if you have that then you’d need to sort out the finished floor level. You may well need to check the joists in the ceiling and see if needed there would be any RSJ to be put in if you decide to alter the structure, and or concrete lintels I’d deciding to widen windows

It all depends on the specification of what the architect decides, if you go through an architect. The structure needs to Be right if you’re altering the structure obviously you need to make sure the existing it safely propped and the walls are sound enough to take steels or lintels etc. Plus the finished floor level is key, everything works of your FFL, you would need to make sure your FFL is a minimum of 6”above DPC.

Before going on my own I was a sub contractor for 7 years I worked with a local firm. Then I decided to make a go at it myself. Having been an apprentice working with some really good tradeseman learning my trade. I formed my company in 2015. I’m very thorough and dedicated to my job. I believe I have a lot of passion and have a very happy workforce who would agree I’m hard but fair.

We guarantee 100% you won’t get a better job elsewhere. We are so dedicated to every job we do, passionate and care about our reputation. I may have only been in business since 2015 but don’t let that put you off, I have excellent reviews on my yell.com account.
