Our focus is on lifting free weights and doing fun activities to improve fitness.

We dont have skinny, gym bunnies or intimidating people in our groups.

Good value gym but make sure you bring a heavy duty lock with you as lockers are getting broken in nearly every morning
I decided to sign up to Barbells for beginners after asking Sean if his training programme could help with severe back & hip pain. Cardio wasn’t helping nor were painkillers & I was at the point where I would try anything. I can honestly say that it’s the best form of exercise I’ve ever done & I have been pretty much pain free. I’ve done 2 programmes so far & signed up for another 8 weeks. Sean is lovely, always encouraging even on days where I feel I can’t do it or moan (that’s a lot) but his help & guidance have made a massive difference to me. Good amount of equipment but hard to get on some things during peak times.The dust ontop of the yellow tube/vents above your head look extremely dusty dont think this is good to breath in although equipment is kept clean just think they need to look up once in a while...

I decided to take up the transformation programme after talking to Sean and knowing that I needed to change my eating habits, get some weight off and get fitter. I was really apprehensive to start with, but my fears were soon pushed to one side, as the support from Sean and Jade was just great. They were so welcoming, as were the other people on the programme, which helped me feel less self conscious and worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up. just completed the 8 week transformation training I loved it that much I rejoined the next one. I feel so much better mentally as well as physically I would highly recommend Sean & Jade they have been wonderful.
I have been training with Sean and Jade for a while now and can honestly say I’ve never enjoyed training as much. The attention to detail that these two give is amazing. I had been suffering with horrible lower back and hip pain and thanks to Jades advice and continual guidance this has now subsided. Jade and Sean have an online group were you can post questions and ask for advice. They always reply to these questions very promptly and explain things in a way that is easy to understand. I have just completed a 6 week barbells course and have thoroughly enjoyed every session. It’s the first time I have ever done this type of exercise and was a little doubtful I could do it after having abdominal surgery earlier on in the year. Sean has been absolutely fantastic and is so great at encouraging and ensuring you do everything correctly safely. Starting anything new can be scary and daunting but both Sean and Jade make you feel comfortable and at ease from day one. They are both highly motivating and passionate about helping people achieve their goals in a safe and effective manner. Reasonably priced gym plenty of equipment. You do have to push to get your induction and if you take the off peak pack there are not many classes available.
An amazing and friendly group,run by knowledgeable trainers .Sean and Jade are supportive and encouraging .They understand what you are capable of and work with you to help develop the areas that you want to change -they also give nutritional and dietary advice which has helped me a lot.

I would really recommend; I’ve just finished first barbell for beginners and am signed up to the next. You train in a small group so it’s really friendly and supportive. Sean pushes you to make progress but in an encouraging way. The food plan is easy to follow (and really tasty) and it doesn’t involve an unsustainably restrictive diet. This is really friendly group the results I have achieved was more than I thought I would get Sean and jade are very patient and encouraging and are always on hand with any advice I may need on nutrition and fitness the gym sessions are never boring we all have a laugh along the way no extreme dieting still eating what I like just in moderation and still getting the results I didn’t think I would achieve in such a short time weight loss and toning up I have signed up for the next one (the gym was recommended to me so pleased I gave it a go)
I was very sceptical and didnt think Barbells would be something I would enjoy or even benefit from, but how wrong I was. My main aim was to build core strength which it has done but also giving me confidence to lift without worrying my back would hurt . Also it has given me confidence to go to a gym and believe in myself, and has helped me lose weight and inches. Will help and bail you out.. I have traiined off and on for years. Its all about conection and energy. U get out what you want to put in. It doesnt matter who you are or what age or size you are. In t'he gym i would like to think we are one family. And we all support each other. I just had a stroke in january. Got lucky just my speach. Was bust and my balançe. That knocked me for six. Wondering to myself if i was ok. Never drank or smoked. Thought i was indestructible. But hey it happend. Due to high blood pressure. Then t'he doctor says i had crònic kidney disease for years. Excellent gym for the price, it gets very busy at peak times but you don't usually have to wait long for equipment.
Excellent gym for only £9.99 a month. Equipment and layout I think is the best around from others I’ve been to and that includes the likes of David Lloyd etc Class times could be a little better as used to have some good circuit training classes at 8:30pm, which was ideal and always busy.
Good gym. Cheap prices. Only down fall sometimes gets to busy and some equipment takes longer than expected to be repaired.

Xercise4Less Newcastle is a budget gym which has now been open for approximately 3 years, occupying a 35,000 ft space over a single floor. Ladies only, studio area, boxing ring, classes and sunbed is available, and a wide range of cardio, free weight and resistance machines. The words budget pretty much describe the location. Almost perfect, however I’ve been coming for quite a while now and had no problems at all, amazing staff, amazing facilities and very clean with lots to offer (classes, information, etc) but there has been one thing very recently that has been really annoying me as well as many of the other gym users and that is that we have noticed a major increase of very young people using the gym, of course there is nothing majorly wrong with that however they have been coming in, RUNNING AROUND, misusing gym equipment for example weight machines and the boxing rings as well as interrupting many people in the free weight section so I hope that they can monitor the situation a little better and make sure that this does not get worse!

I have just completed the 8 week transformation challenge, with Sean and Jade, not really having a clue about what I was getting myself into my anxieties were very quickly reduced. . I'm a 55yr old woman, overweight with mobility issues following years of abdominal surgeries. I thought I was too old and too unfit to join Seans program, how wrong I was! ! I took up the transformation challenge as an opportunity to change my eating and exercise habits in a sustainable and permanent way. I was apprehensive to start with, but it has been fantastic. Great value gym!
I joined after Christmas as part of a new fitness regime and I love it. I tend to do the classes. They're great fun. I need pushing to increase my fitness levels. And this certainly does the job.
