We worked with PJ for our engagement photos, and it was an amazing experience. I'm absurdly awkward, and generally terrible at getting photos taken, and he made it easy, and honestly fun. My fiancé and I had never had a photo shoot with any professional photographer before PJ did our engagement photos. Pj was awesome and did such an amazing job on the photos! Not only did He make us completely comfortable, he also was constantly making us laugh (which also turned out to be great photos). He has such a good eye and can tell you exactly what looks best. Before the photo shoot, we were kind of nervous about posing and what not. We have used PJ for our family portraits several times and he never disappoints! With 6 family members, (4 under the age of 8! ) it isn't easy to capture beautiful photos but he always delivers! PJ was fantastic! We had a small wedding at home and he created a package that worked for us. Prior to the event, PJ sent me questions and got my feedback on what type of pictures I wanted, as well as a list of guests. He made recommendations based on lighting and came early to survey the home. We had a lot of young kids and he was able to keep their attention for pictures. A giggle. A scrunched up nose. A candid photo taken while my daughter was standing in the middle of a street in Old Sac (that we didn't even know he was taking) that captured so much joy and emotion. Any photographer can take posed photographs, but what makes PJ special is his ability to capture those rare moments in between the poses. He did an AMAZING job on my daughter's senior portraits. She wanted an urban feel to her portraits and he delivered! He found the coolest tucked away spots in Old Sac and was an expert at capturing the perfect light! Going into planning our wedding, our top priority was getting amazing pictures to perfectly capture our special day. I’ll admit we had high expectations when it came to our photographers and were hopeful Fits and Stops Photography would deliver. P.J. and Erica went so far above and beyond our highest of expectations. To start with, they are both extremely kind, thoughtful and professional. They automatically put you at ease on what can be a stressful and nerve wrecking day. They were extremely flexible and adaptive to the many different environments, changes in timeframe, a sick groom and even a couple dogs! Us girls were of course running late, and Fits and Stops Photography quickly adjusted the timeline and were extremely considerate of my husband who was sick. During our newlywed pictures it started raining, which seriously concerned me at the time. However, when the rain started P.J. and Erica didn’t fret. Instead, they quickly adapted, calmed my nerves and found a perfect clear umbrella (at lightening speed I might say). All of the pictures were simply breathtaking. They did such an amazing job! Much more than we could have dreamed of. Oh and did I mention, they sent us a link to all of our pictures after a week and a half, before even returning from our honeymoon! I signed up to take PJ's Photography Class: Mastering Your DSLR Camera's Manual Mode in January of 2019. I consider myself a avid hobbyist who had lost confidence with shooting in manual mode post college and never found the time to dive back in after starting a family. Immediately I felt at ease as the group was small and intimate and PJ was welcoming and humble sharing his photography experience with us after introductions. The class took place in a public park which felt more casual than a classroom setting which I appreciated. PJ provided us each with a 4 pager handout that was broken down into what he called "the trinity," which I thought was a genius way to look at it after we went over each of them thoroughly with metaphor, explanation, demonstration and recall. First we discussed shutter speed, second was ISO and third was aperture. We concluded the class with the light meter and a round table discussion of what photography we are keen on shooting and what would be the best lenses and manual modes to start with. PJ also provided us with a $25 off 1-hour family portrait package to be used one year of taking the class which was a nice bonus to his students which obviously admire Fits and Stops Photography work. The information disseminated in the class was not overwhelming, actually it was quite simplified which was well perceived by all of us attendees who had tried books and YouTube videos to try to remember these concepts that PJ broke down so simply. PJ's instruction came naturally as did the flow of the 2 hour class that ended on time with a challenge to use what we had learned in the class later that day. I felt like I not only got my monies worth of instruction but enjoyed a pleasant winter afternoon with others who shared a common interest, the love of photography and affirmation that we all shared a common goal of growth in our own skill sets with mastering manual mode in our DSLR's. PJ and Erica are truly magical beings. My husband hates getting his photo taken, he will actively avoid any and all picture taking scenarios. However, when we met for the first time PJ for our engagement photos the three of us were laughing and goofing off the entire session. PJ put us at ease immediately and worked hard to keep our session a true reflection of us. This continued to our wedding day. PJ was back at it with his jokes and Erica was there making sure we all looked stunning and finding those unique photo opportunities. The Fits and Stops photography duo, P.J. and Erica Oswald unite to form a team better than Batman and Catwoman. My now wife and I hired Fits and Stops for our engagement shoot and our whole wedding (including getting ready, door games, ceremony, and reception). In fact, this was not my first experience with them. I first met them when they were photographing my university's graduation ceremony. I was so impressed with their charm and professionalism that I had them at the top of our list for wedding photographers, and I am glad I did. On top of that, they were very responsive to every call/email and were intentionally flexible with our needs and wants in regards to our wedding. They both found incredible shots: some staged, some candid. P.J. especially seemed willing to do anything or go anywhere to get the perfect shot. That is what I expected from professional photographers and that's what I got. But what I appreciated most was not their prodigious skill at picture-taking but their attitudes. I'm not someone who likes taking pictures, but both of them made it easy, enjoyable, and just plain fun. Despite P.J. and Erica being near strangers, there was an ease and simple joy in sharing moments within one of the most pivotal days of our lives with them. We had heard good things about Fits and Stops Photography. We inquired online and received a call back quickly. The photographer went over all the details and suggested several locations but let the choice up to us. Family portraits seemed like a good idea, until our easy going toddler stopped being easy going. Thankfully we'd chosen the right photographer! Had an hour-long family shoot with PJ.He was professional and prompt every step of the way. Helping select a good location, setting up a time, and ensuring we got what we wanted. During the shoot he made sure to work with our vision and brought in his own suggestions for adjustments or new poses that he thought could work well. He's definitely a fun photographer making sure we're relaxed and enjoying ourselves so that the smiles come naturally!Afterwards we got the good shots, (over 90 of them!) in an online site to review and pick out the best. All already looked awesome capturing each pose, and after some more adjustments we are definitely printing some of these.Overall a great professional, highly skilled, and friendly photographer who obviously loves doing what he does and helping people capture the best moments in their lives. This is the second time that PJ with Fits and Stops Photography has photographed my family so I could get that perfect photo to put on that Christmas card that I procrastinate on every year lol. Last year I waited till the very last minute, and he somehow pulled off amazing photos on a rainy gross day. There were so many great photos that I had a hard time picking which photo to use. This year I again waited till the last minute to schedule a family photo session (the procrastination thing runs deep). I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get it done in time, but PJ did it again!!! He squeezed us into his schedule last minute, traveled to a fabulous spot (where he was willing to hike, get wet and be cold for the perfect photo), and then had an insanely fast turn around time getting the edited photos back to me!!! The photos were beyond what I could have imagined! I can't believe I was able to get my Christmas cards ordered before December (major mom win)! I know that I can't take the credit, as this would not have been possible without PJ's amazing talent and wiliness to do whatever it takes to get the perfect photo. We found Fits and Stops years ago through a friend. This last family photo shoot was the fourth time we've hired them and we could not imagine using anyone else. PJ is great with our kids, anything from being willing to make crazy noises to get their attention, being a quick shot to capture those fleeting smiles and just being super friendly. He has a great catalog of locations he's used before but also flexible to do his best with a location you suggest. To top it all off he is affordable and the photos come out great, including the candid shots of the kids running around instead of sitting still because they are kids. My youngest child did NOT want a senior portrait (sorry, on some things Mom just doesn't give you a choice). I chose to use PJ with Fits & Stops. PJ & I corresponded via e-mail to compare calendars and came up with several dates that fit all 3 schedules. He even sent a reminder message the day before! I told PJ what kind of 'feel' we wanted & he recommended a great location. He connected with my son on multiple topics, put him at ease, & we all had an enjoyable time with the shoot. My beautiful daughter Shaina and amazing son in-law Joshua Ludwig got married today and it was such a beautiful setting, a beautiful day and beautiful ceremony and I can't wait to see the photos that the incredibly talented couple that own and operate this company.
Last week I posted just a few of the hundreds of engagement photos they took of Shaina and Joshua that turned out breath takingly beautiful and I can only imagine how amazing their wedding photos will turn out.
I can not say enough great things about this company and helpful and friendly comfortable.
SO+ comfortable that even though I hate having my picture taken and am always on edge when ever someone has a phone or camera around me but I only was aware they were taking pitures when I was asked to pose for pictures with others.

I work for a non-profit called Defending the Cause Regional Alliance. We were so excited to be hosting our first annual parenting conference and definitely wanted great photos from the event to highlight our fantastic lineup of speakers and have images to use in promoting future conferences. PJ did a fantastic job taking a wide array of pictures throughout the day (in bright light and low light) and his work was incredible! We now have almost 400 images and he did a great job capturing people's emotions and personality as well as getting still shots of the conference signage and our location. Part nerd, part superhero, part ninja, all photographer.

PJ worked his tail off at our wedding and garnered comments not just from us, but also the guests at how stealthy and professional he was. He nailed every shot on our list and captured the other moments with graceful precision.

Every question and email was answered promptly and directly. Every change was adapted to with speed and success. To top it off, we had access to our photos within a couple days of the ceremony, a much quicker turnaround than we could hope to have asked for. In the future, Fits & Stops will be the first place we call when in need of a photographer.

We have been looking for a photographer to follow our family for a long time and I think we can safely say we have found one. Pj was personable, kind, quick and efficient as well as affordable.
