I signed up to the City to Summit which is , in many ways, similar or equivalent to an Iron Man. I have always been quite fit and have pushed myself as far as I can in all sporting activities but this was a step into the unknown. My friend insisted that I meet with Leszek about this endurance event and I quickly realised there is a lot of science and theory to be considered when training and competing in an endurance event. Leszek's knowledge was incredibly impressive and he helped me to understand how the body works (e.g. aerobic versus anaerobic, heart rate zones), useful equipment, the importance of nutrition, how to put together a training programme, the psychological aspect of an endurance event... the list goes on. Above all else, Leszek genuinely believed I was capable of completing the event and was beyond supportive throughout my training programme. Leszek is second to none in my opinion and I can't recommend him enough. I know I wouldn't have been been able to cross the finish line after 19 hours of exertion without his help! More...

Leszek is a great trainer and person! From day one I felt comfortable training with him. He is good about variying up what we do from session to session. He approaches training in a very wholistic manner and is very knowledgable and informative. I would recommend training with Leszek to anyone! For many years, I've considered myself to be fit, strong and healthy and I've worked with a number of personal trainers during this time - some good and some not so good. Working with Leszek is different. Firstly, he's a kind, considerate and friendly soul who is evidently committed to what he does. What I particularly enjoy about working with him is that he listens to what it is you want to achieve and he then helps you to achieve this in tandem with training you for longevity (and not just for looking good).Looking and feeling better are of course the outcomes of working with him but Leszek trains at 'source' by focusing on a combination of strength, flexibility and endurance to produce the desired outcomes and to therefore help equip his clients for leading longer, healthier, more active lives. Leszek is a great coach. Each session is slightly different (so I don’t get bored), whilst always focusing on flexibility, strength, and cardio. Leszek has taken the time to understand what exercises I don’t enjoy and enjoy, so that he focus on tailoring the training sessions to ensure I start to enjoy exercise more than I have in the past! Having never exercised routinely in the past I’ve really appreciated the one on one sessions as I can go at my own pace whilst Leszek encourages and supports me to push my own boundaries. I now feel confident to go to some group exercise classes. Leszek has also taken into account a long standing health problem and ensures that I work to strengthen the muscles around the affected area that will help me in the long run. I started personal training with Laszek around 16 weeks ago, mainly to gain back my confidence and improve my overall fitness. Every session has been enjoyable, challenging and different. I have throughly enjoyed every session and most importantly, I have learnt how to input the same training style into my daily routine. My overall fitness and strength has dramatically increased over the past 16 weeks - I have gained back confidence and overall, I feel really good. I joined EKC when I had a calf injury and had to stop running. It's been brilliant for keeping me fit and strong over the past few months. In the past year, while I have been training with Leszek, I have seen a huge increase in my level of fitness and enjoyment of sport and exercise. Leszek is a highly motivating trainer and takes a real interest in all aspects of your progress, focusing on diet and lifestyle as well as delivering varied and effective personal training sessions. He is very supportive and skilled in providing just the right level of challenge you need to keep you progressing, whatever your reasons for training and whatever level you are starting from. Little did I think a year ago I would now be competing in kettlebell sport competitions and be able to do a handstand or two, amongst other things. Leszek helped me in training from my second Ironman triathlon in Lanzarote. Although I started training with him from a position of good fitness and health, I wanted to increase my overall core strength, and Leszeks kettlebell classes were just amazing for this. His motivational skills are brilliant, his enthusiasm for what he does is off the scale, and he's just generally a really nice bloke. Les has been my personal trainer for a few months now and he is just great. Following a neurological injury a long time ago and a recent foot fracture he has really helped me in terms of balance and mobility. This is improving my confidence and am feeling really good. I will be signing up for more sessions in the New Year as I feel it is making a difference. He is such a nice guy and so passionate about wellbeing yet being able to tailor his programmes to meet specific needs. Cannot speak highly enough of Edinburgh Kettlebell Club! Les is a great trainer, you can join no matter your level of fitness and he will always make sure you are working as hard as you possibly can, he is a great motivator! It is really rewarding as you progress and improve your techniques. Each class has a great variety of exercises and Les is constantly teaching us new things, he also has<span id="moreReview496086" class="hide"> great advice on eating. It's hard work but definitely worth it! I used to spend hours doing the classes at the gym and then did a month of kettlebells and the results were incredible in comparison. I have trained my whole life as a dancer and run a Dance school full time. On top of this busy schedule I also teach fitness classes and perform regularly. I have felt since introducing Kettlebells to my routine I have much more energy and strength for the all of these other things making it all so much easier. I believe this is something I should have done a long time ago. Really enjoyed being taught in a friendly and welcoming environment by an excellent coach with a sense of humour. Learnt many techniques which will take a while to perfect and looking forward to returning soon. Found the classes very helpful for joint mobility, particularly for opening up the hips and recovering ROM in the knee following medial meniscectomy earlier this year. Great fun too! More...

I initially decided to try kettlebell training as a way of gaining strength and fitness on my mountain bike. However, I soon started to enjoy kettlebell training for its own sake. I have enjoyed developing my technique, and am due to try my first Girevoy Sport competition very soon. Having said that, the club is a mixed and friendly bunch, and no one takes themselves too seriously. And as well<span id="moreReview457716" class="hide"> as the Sport training, we also do more general body conditioning using the bells. I joined the Edinburgh Kettlebell Bootcamp for the first time in February 2013 and have finished my third one before the summer. I have lost 30lbs of weight in that time, feel much stronger, healthier and have a more positive outlook to life. The instructor is very friendly and positive and the atmosphere allows everyone to work to their own level / speed. I joined the kettle bell bootcamp in January 2013 and have already signed up for the second one! I had never done kettle bells before this but I am totally hooked. A great way to improve and maintain fitness. A thorough warm-up session like I have never experienced before, I can literally feel every muscle and joint get warm. This is followed by the main event using kettlebells. It works your body hard and feels very rewarding at the end. The more effort you put in, the more you get out and Leszek is very encouraging and pays great attention to detail.<span id="moreReview366219" class="hide">A great way to improve and maintain fitness.
