This is basically a Norman church, although much altered over the centuries -the fun red brick tower is early 18th century. Don't miss the Saxon font. Open 10:00 to 16:00 on weekdays, apparently, with the main Sunday service at 11:00.There's a friendly churchyard robin.Finchampstead has a bipolar layout, and can confuse. The church has a very pretty and romantic hilltop location in the old "Church" village, which is tiny with a pub and village green. OTOH, "Greyhound" Finchampstead is a separate settlement to the south and is not pretty at all. More...

The area is really peaceful and the small church very cosy and impressive at the same time.

A beautiful and peaceful church with plenty of walks around. Highly recommend a visit when they open the bell tower, the view from the top is breathtaking ! Only once or twice a year though... More...
