We have been going to Colette every week for over 2 years now. Every session is different and interesting, but most of all, fun. She tailors each session to meet our needs. She has helped us through injuries and weight loss and offers excellent advice around general health and well-being (ex, getting over a massive sugar addition). Despite the tough work-out we look forward to going each week because she’s a great listener and fun to be around. More...

I contacted Colette at Fit State Training because I was struggling with upper back pain and general limited movement. Colette listened carefully to my problems and came up with a programme to get me back on my feet again. Three months later I am feeling so much better and it’s all thanks to Colette and her excellent knowledge of the human body and how it works. Not only did I work out at her gym, she also gave me exercises to do at home. I can’t thank Colette enough for what she has done for me. More...

I found Fit State Training during my 40 year old mid life crisis and haven't looked back. Colette is a brilliant trainer, she tailors the sessions differently each time so you get lots of variation and she always makes sure I am doing everything correctly and safely. I used to hate exercise but Colette sessions are fun and challenging and I actually look forward to them. Having the studio to yourself is fantastic as you aren't being judged by gym bunnies and all the equipment is first rate. Colette has also given me useful tips on healthy eating and encouraged me to move away from my carb heavy diet and helped me lose weight and keep it off. Best of all she is a great person with a sense of humour, doesn't preach, and isn't a body fascist! Highly recommended. More...

Q&As

By setting realistic, achievable goals, that make it a step by step journey for each client to get the results they are looking for. The aim is to make fitness fun and interesting along the way, teaching each client the benefits of different types of exercises, how to make better food choices and how to plan activities outside of their sessions that will keep them moving towards their goals.

I love seeing how happy it makes my clients when they start to get fitter and stronger. This is usually followed by better sleep, less stress and being able to move more efficiently, and with less pain, all of which makes both the client, and me, very happy!

When I was in my mid twenties, I was unfit, overweight and unhappy. I realised I needed to change, so I started exercising and eating better and over the course of 12-18 months I turned my life around and felt so much better for it, both physically and mentally. I realised then, that I wanted to help people in similar situations feel better about themselves, and have a better quality of life, so I studied to become a Personal Trainer. I opened my private training studio so that my clients would have somewhere to train where they could feel comfortable and at ease, as not everyone likes the hustle and bustle of a busy gym. A private studio also means no queuing for equipment, which makes for a much better workout.

I am able to offer my clients the support they need, based on my own personal weight loss and lifestyle change, plus the 11 years experience I have of being a trainer, working with lots of people, all with different goals.
