Out of all of the vendors that I dealt with on my wedding day, Terry was the BEST to deal with. He is not only an exceptional videographer, but truly cares about his clients needs. We so appreciate you getting this video to us so quickly, Terry! It is artfully done, and we couldn't imagine a more honoring tribute to my dad. Very well done!In particular, I'm very happy with the different camera angles of the service... You even captured the impromptu moments such as the statue of Bob's big boy falling! The aerial shots of Mariners church were breathtaking and I had a big smile on my face seeing the way you ended the video of the service with one of the guests giving the "fight on" Trojans sign! The detail shots of the reception memory table and the food were artfully done. I'm so happy you captured those moments of my grandpa at the reception too.My mom and I were in tears after watching the slideshow. The songs you paired it with were beautiful and did not distract from the photos at all. We particularly loved how you ended with "I can only imagine"! This brought on the waterworks!Suffice it to say, we are thrilled with your work! You have been a godsend. I cannot recommend Terry enough. He is a friendly guy and great with communication. Â He is professional, detailed and kind. Â His communication before and after the even exceeded all expectations. What do you love most about your job?
Every job is different! I go above and beyond to satisfy every client, and I LOVE happy customers! Aside from shooting good quality video (along with excellent audio, by the way), my greatest asset—according to all my clients, is my gift at getting people comfortable around cameras and related equipment. Speaking on camera is not natural, but I instill confidence with my clients, many of whom have never stepped in front of a camera!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've had a camera slung around my neck since my wee years and have been around video and film for most of my adult life. I started with still photography which I studied while in the Marine Corps and learned--sometimes through trial and error--about the power of visual imagery as a compelling medium.
I produced several travel industry videos in the 90s, one of which ran for two seasons on The Travel Channel. I moved back to California in 1993 and continued to take on video projects on a part-time basis, but decided to launch First Impressions Video as a full-time endeavor in 2012.
