What makes a great website?
We believe in the end-to-end sales funnel approach to websites, and digital marketing in general. With a clear end goal in mind ( such as sell more products, build brand awareness, etc) we can work backwards to come up with a plan and strategy that will accomplish your goals. A great website, specifically, is just part of that complete "funnel". It needs to be completely mobile optimized, as most traffic comes from portable devices these days. Also, aesthetically attractive, with simple and clear call-to-actions.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
We always start with finding out what is the end goal... is it to sell more products? Is it to build brand awareness? Or, perhaps you just need to nurture all those leads you've already received? Or, maybe all of the above! Having this info upfront, or at least a basic idea of the end goal, will greatly increase the odds of success with any campaigns or marketing efforts.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to help our clients understand how digital marketing can help them reach their business goals at an affordable price. We pride ourselves on affordability for small businesses without sacrificing quality. Also, I really like to see our client's eyes light up when they start to see the results of email marketing and social media campaigns. It's an awesome feeling! :)
What inspired you to start your own business?
We were inspired to start Fire Breathing Penguin Media after we had a developer build a website for us back in the early 2000's. It was WAY overpriced and we could tell that many agencies were taking advantage of people who didn't know any better. We vowed that if we ever had a business, we'd never treat our clients that way. Our goal is to make digital marketing affordable but without sacrificing the quality that is deserved.
