Attended an "Introduction to Italian Wine" class on the 13th June conducted by PK. It was an extremely fun and interesting class and PK was able to answer all the questions that were thrown at him with such ease. Not only were we taught about the different grapes that grew in each region in Italy, but we were also patiently taught how to taste and recognise the characters in each wine and also understanding common words that we see on the bottles and what it meant like "Riserva". Highly recommend and would definitely go back again for another lesson or two!!!! More...

I attended a course on Burgundy wines in May 2019, which was taught by PK. The course covered the history of the Burgundy region, the various sub-regions/villages/climats within the region, which was explained clearly with informative charts/pictures. Until I attended this course, the Burgundy region and its plethora of domaine/village/climat names confused me tremendously even though I had spent some time trying to read up on the topic. Also, until this lesson, I had no confidence of describing/assessing the wines I had tasted, but with the benefit of PK's descriptions while actually tasting (six) different wines, I feel a lot more confident about buying and drinking wines. To me, the $109 I paid for the course was very good value, and my friends who have attended wine lessons previously told me they paid a lot more. We also tasted six different wines (including a Premier Cru). The venue was also very close to the MRT station and was comfortable. On top of that, we were even given a $20 voucher. PK was an excellent trainer, very enthusiastic, clear, engaging, even entertaining. He was always ready to answer questions, and he did so very effectively. I hope to attend future classes by Fine Wines, and this lesson in particular is highly recommended. More...
