I've been trying to go here for ages! Finally made it the other night. I had the Cheeseburger and fries. Definitely very good.  Juicy fresh and didn't need any condiments. Nothing out of this world but it was a very solid burger. 17$ is a little steep compared to some other good burger places nearby but I'd probably do it again at some point. More...

Food was good, but the drinks were more like kid sized and for the price, you would think you would get more for what you paid for.  The redeeming factor, is that the drinks were delicious!  We came to H&F as a group of 4 and had the pimento cheese (which was underwhelming, and we thought it would be warm), fried oysters (which the server forgot about and brought after we finished our main course), bone marrow (pretty good, would recommend it), burgers & fries (really good burger, but a bit too oily and the fries were too damp and not crispy), and shrimp and toast (which was pretty good).  The service was great. They were highly knowledgable and attentive, as well as made some good recommendations on what to try.  As a fellow ATLIEN, I was hoping to wow my out of town guests with the deliciousness of H&F, but the food fell a little flat and I don't think they enjoyed it as much as I did.  I still recommend checking out this restaurant! Two words: THAT. BURGER. Y'all, it's everything. It's kind of a Shake Shack style, smash party situation. It's so simple, but they do it amazingly. Buttery bun, perfectly cooked meat and cheese, pickles, onions. Amazing fries, homemade ketchup and mustard. It's worth every darn penny! For what it's worth, the other stuff people were getting looked super good too. I've heard good things about the shrimp toast. But I just can't tear myself away from that burger! I like this location better than the PCM one because it's less hectic. More...

Holeman & Finch is absolutely awesome, from the service to food, I was impressed by this spot. Upon arriving, we were ushered to valet our car, which is free a charge.  A bonus in my book as parking can be quite expensive.  My friend and I had reservations for 7, arriving 10 minutes early, we were seated promptly in a booth.  We were brought water right away and our server was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the entire evening. Food:We shared two appetizers: the fried oysters & pickles and the bacon caramel popcorn!  Both were delicious and extremely addictive!  The fried pickles were a combination of dill & sweet pickles, the oysters held their integrity despite being fried, and the bacon-caramel popcorn was the most addictive appetizer ever.  The popcorn was generously coated in caramel and candied bacon, but not with an overwhelming amount of bacon.  I highly recommend those appetizers. For my entree, I decided to build a charcuterie & cheese board, as they have several meats and cheese to select.  The star of the show was the Goat cheese and capicola.  The board was served with an onion jam, blueberry spread, and bread.  We were too full to try the desserts, but definitely next time I go, I will look to order a sweet treat!  Overall, the service and food at this spot is impeccable! The food was impeccable but the service was what won us over. We arrived at 8:40, 5 min early for our reservation and we were told they needed sometime to get us our table. So we headed to the lounge/bar for a drink. Lamar took care of us and immediately was very welcoming and personable. We got our first round of drinks and they were delicious. Our table was taking a while so we started with the shrimp toast; which by the way was one of the best bites of food we'd ever had. About an hour had gone by and we hadn't been sat so Lamar went to find out what had happened, it seems they assumed we no longer wanted our table and gave it away. He offered a round of drinks and an appetizer on the house for the inconvenience. We sat next with Kyle, he took incredible care of us.We had the cheeseburger and the carbonara pasta, which were both incredible. Sam, the bartender even personally came over to check to see if we enjoyed the drinks. This place is a gem. The food and service were perfect and made our night very memorable. Mistakes happen in this industry but the way the staff handled it, made our night. Ask for either 3 of them when you go.I highly recommend this spot for any occasion. More...

I've been addicted to H&F for 6 years now so my review of it definitely will not do it justice but I will try. One of my fave date spots. The only downfall is the seating for two people. If you get a weird table, you will feel like you're squeezed Into a spaceTheir drinks are so freaking good. I'm a junky for a cocktail and they have the best in Atlanta. Want a fancy drink with egg white? Oh yeah. This is the place. I love their bartenders. Random but their sweet tea is so freaking delicious. It's so hard to find great sweet tea. Onto the food. Everything on their menu is great. The menu changes every day or every few days (I'm not sure of the rotation). Their burger is unmatched. Completely unmatched. It is so freaking good. Comes with French fries. Ok so with the French fries, comes the best ketchup you will ever have in your life. If you disagree, something is wrong with you! Yup; I said it. The other day they had some baked oysters. I'm not sure if I've ever eaten anything as good as those oysters. So delicious. Since I've been going there, I've noticed a lot of different servers. I'm not sure if there is a turnover issue but regardless, service is always top notch. Long story short: go to H&F. I promise you will not regret it. More...

Classic Atlanta restaurant that should be on the list for all locals. H&F (not to be confused with A&F) is definitely much nicer than I think most people would expect but is a great place to go for drinks and obviously the burger. My latest visit was just for drinks (+ pimento cheese) and the drinks were perfectly made. I have to say, I was impressed.  Went by myself.  7:00 on a Friday night and got a seat at the big square table next to the bar.  The waiter was Cameron...super friendly and enthusiastic that it was my first time (so was I!).  He recommended the deviled eggs to start followed by the shrimp toast.  The deviled eggs were delicious.  There are three kinds of egg salad - a pickled relish one, a bacon one, and a buffalo sauce one.  Delicious.  The shrimp toast was a triumph.  It was basically thick toast with shrimp and tomatoes and herbs and seasonings on top....ALL SET INSIDE A BOWL OF SHE-CRAB SOUP.  Who doesn't like she-crab soup?  Well, I guess probably a lot of people.  But not me- I LOVE IT!!  And the whole concoction together was reminiscent of a delicious seafood gumbo, or even when you get clams in garlic wine sauce and let the toast sit in the juice and soak it all up.  Yum!!  I will definitely be back:) More...

The orange is fragrant and gives  a pleasant refreshing flavor to the drink. The bacon caramel popcorn is good but I don't know I'd pay $4 for a cup of popcorn again. The bacon is really smoky and slightly caramelized. It's a good addition to the sweetness of the popcorn, giving it a nice savory sweet balance. The deviled eggs three ways were good but 6 halves would be better worth the price. $7 for 3 halves?! The Johnny cakes are cornbread pancakes w/ a poached egg and served w/ sorghum syrup & bacon. I tried to warn my son against them but he said he wanted breakfast food...yeah not so much. The bacon is good tho...‍ I'm not a  poached egg fan so there you have it. Try it. It may be your The burgers were smaller than they have been in the past but still just as good. Great service! We constantly had people taking care of us- always a plus :) waitress was adorable and very knowledgeable!! !!!!! My boyfriend and I started out with a mix of charcuterie and cheese. He got the Lomo and Coppa as his meats and I got the Griffin and the Blue Cheese. The blue cheese was INCREDIBLE!!! Not too funky!!! And the onion jam and mustard were incredible. As appetizers, my boyfriend got the crunchy gentleman and I got the deviled eggs. He loved the crunchy gentleman so much that he ended up eating most of it and only being able to eat a few bites of his burger!!!! The deviled eggs were great. My favorite was the buffalo. I got the vegetable plate as my entree. Extremely mediocre. Very little flavor.... it just tasted like a plate of steamed, seasonless vegetables. And the server let slip that the chefs cook the vegetable plates in beef fat unless told otherwise- so make sure to tell your server if you're vegetarian!!!! As a 14 year long vegetarian, it's safe to say that that didn't please me in the slightest bit. I got grits on the side and they were DIVINE!!!!!!! So creamy and thick- only complaint is that they needed a bit more salt.My boyfriend got the burger and LOVED it. The French fries were a little bland and saltless. But their buttermilk sauce is very good- I recommend getting that on the side if you like sauces or ranch. As for drinks, I got the Hidalgo's Reverence with muddled jalapeños (although it wasn't all that spicy) and the Empress 75. They didn't have the lavender gin so the Empress 75 wasn't exactly what I wanted but yummy nonetheless! My boyfriend got an old-fashioned which our waitress told us was the best old-fashioned she's ever had. It was pretty standard- nothing to write home about. All and all it was good. People make a huge fuss over the burger at this restaurant, and I just didn't think it lived up to the hype. I took 3 bites of it. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but not as amazing as people have made it out to be. I did love the fries and the ketchup though. I'm pretty sure the ketchup was housemade. I sat at the end of the bar and glanced around the room the meat case is bare of charcuterie, and the number of jars and pickles that use to scatter the restaurant seem like an old memory.[Queue Artist: Women - Song: Black Rice]A man sits on the other side of the bar and is talking to the cute bartender. The cook is closing down the kitchen and you can hear faint music pouring out from the opening behind me."Can I get you a drink?" The young girl has seemed to appear like a specter in front of me."Can I get... whatever the house mescal cocktail is." I'm sure it will be good."Of course!""Do you ever feel like your life is one big cycle constantly collapsing in on itself; like the ouroboros of ancient Egypt?""What...""I'm sorry I've had a rough week.""Well, here's your drink."She leaves me to my own devices and I take a sip of the drink. I take a look around me, remembering the old restaurant, the dark walls, and sparse seating in the bar, I remember the packed room and hip music that played. It seems like with much of the area now everything is a sad shell of what it once was. "How long have you worked here?" I question the young girl."A few months now." "Have you ever seen this place busy, it used to be the hottest spot in town."I continue to chat up the bartender, and try to work my charm. She informs me that the restaurant will be closing soon, so I finish my drink (which is good I'd order it again if I remembered the name) and head on my way out.[1]I step out in the cool breeze in the night air, I look up to see a full moon as I walk to my car across He street. It's true what they say, improvement makes straight roads, but the crooked roads without Improvement, are roads of Genius.----------"Sweetheart, hold on to these love song, the ones I've held onto for way too long."
