Darren is something of a genius when it comes to landscaping - he has laid turf, procured and planted laurels, removed and put up fencing, come up with creative solutions to privacy problems, filled and framed gravel areas, and generally is a problem solver for the garden across pretty much anything. When Darren first quoted he asked lots of questions, listened carefully to understand my needs and made positive suggestions. We had Darren over for a remedial repair and ended up with a complete new 1.95m high fence. He was very consultative in his approach, sourced materials and had then delivered within 24 hours. He then worked tirelessly over the whole weekend to complete the job which involved some pretty backbreaking work to dig out the old rotten posts. Darren offered me several options for the work that needed doing and had the foresight to suggest doing my flappy fence posts before the forecasted storm arrived. Darren turned up on time worked hard through out the day and left the garden really tidy, I was very pleased with the work that was done and plan to get him back to do the next part of my fencing project (if he is prepared to do it). Like other have said, regular cups of tea are appreciated and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations about and recommending books to be read. Lastly I had tool envy over his excellent stock of tools - particularly the Kangol Hammer (I think) in the Bosch case. Darren did a very thorough job of replacing a couple of fence bays and a concrete post, which had broken in the recent winds. He was very responsive and even came to tie up the post ahead of doing the job to make sure it didn't fall. I was impressed by his attention to detail and how he took into account the exposed position by using a longer (deeper) post and more fence feathers to increase the strength. I am a remote landlord. The works were done very quickly, very efficiently, at a price very similar to the quote (admitted the quote was done by only viewing images - he then kindly attended the property to give me a true cost which he stuck to). Darren showed great attention to detail and a desire to get everything right from the quote onward. He video'd our fence-line in detail, to ensure he could fill in any detail later in his office. we had 19 panels and a number of concrete posts to be replaced.Darren worked tirelessly in freezing conditions with half a blizzard blowing all day Saturday to complete the job, still managing to be polite and cheerful. his helper was also a great worker.
