One of the great landscape gardens, and a must visit National Trust property. We combined it with a brief visit to Stonehenge, before meeting friends at Stourhead. Lunch was a picnic by the lake, followed by a walk around it, then up to & around the main house, back down through the walled garden area, and finished off with a great cup of tea and cake, outside by the NT restaurant. Excellent. More...

Amazing house, even more amazing were the gardens ! Sunlight dappled walks met by temples and other follies. All this and then a pub, much needed after completing one of the walks that surround the house. Another National Trust success !

We had our wedding ceremony at the temple of Apollo on 21.5.23 and it was beautiful; the events team were fantastic and ensured the day was smooth from start to finish! Highly recommend

Lovely gardens, house was okay. All the paintings were dark so unable to see much. Need cleaning and proper lighting.

Beautiful gardens in a fabulous setting, but there is a distinct lack of variety of plants additionally, the flowerbeds near the house needed more attention. But never the less a brilliant day out. 😀 More...

Absolutely brilliant park and gardens. It's a standout venue in all the National Trust sites I've been to. It's got a beautiful grotto and many other unique features. I really enjoyed the experience.

Lovely tranquil spot. Restaurant food limited but good quality. A stroll round the lake is a must. Recycled maps and entrance tickets a really good idea.

A lovely garden to visit spoilt by thoughtless dog owners. The National Trust does not make any attempt to enforce its rule of dogs on short fixed leads. Instead they are all over the footpaths on extendable leads. More...
