What makes a great website?
I think it boils down to three things:-
- Its got to assist the client in meeting their business objectives
- Visually it's got to look good, engage visitors, provide the right information, generate the right responses, working smoothly and seamlessly across all platforms
- Importantly, it's got to work properly in Google! Ticking as many boxes as possible in Google's algorithms (both Maps and Organic), so that it is found easily and appropriately in Google searches.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Between us we've got to know we can work together. So understanding and relating to each other is the most important area. There are no specific questions to establish this, but before long we'll know whether there is going to be a good fit! Other than that, questions about the business. For example, what are your business objectives and where does your website ideally fit in meeting these objectives; and how is your business going and how is the proposed website going to help you?
What do you love most about your job?
The great relationship that builds up between my wonderful clients and me. I can call my clients any time and they can call me any time. Our discussions are friendly and wide ranging, I think my clients feel I am part of their business team with wide ranging marketing and website expertise.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Who want to work for someone else? I certainly didn't and don't... particularly when I'm spending my time doing the things I love to do!
