Falcon responded to my initial enquiry extremely promptly. They carried out the required (non urgent) work within a few days and were professional and courteous throughout. They also answered my questions in layman’s language which was much appreciated. I can’t fault them. More...

Electricians

Brilliant company . Will use in the future

19 January 2019

Falcon Innovations What can I say about this company. After having a couple of quotes I was contacted through bark by Sam ,one of the electricians in this family business who said he would pop over and give me a quote. He arrived on time and was very professional. He had a look and said he would call me later which he did , with bad news. He told me that extra work was needed before he could proceed. The work was done before he got here the next day. Again arrived on time and carried out the work that I needed doing. He was here all day and did a very ,very professional job, left no mess and did a couple of extra jobs for me within the agreed price which was way lower than any other quote. I would recommend this company for any electrical or gas work you may need doing. Very pleased with all aspects of this company. More...

Q&As

Customer satisfaction and problem solving! We love the look on our customers faces when we have completed a project for them, and they stand back and appreciate our skills and attention to detail. Unlike many other trades who just to complete their work without even a conversation, we find our favourite part is that talking with our customers. The conversations where we go in extreme detail about the customers wants and desires, likes and dislikes, and to help guide them using our experience, and then after we get to stand back and say YEAH! WE DID THAT! :D and then showing it off to everyone we see after.

We have always had a culture built around problem solving, in fact solving faults is one of our strengths as a company. We believe this problem solving mentality runs a lot deeper than just fixing faults as we see every part of running our business as a problem to solve. The problem of how to complete a project, the problem of making sure our customers are happy, the problem of ensuring we finish on time. All these problems keep a daily smile on our face, and passion in our work.

We started out doing new build work for a number of years, which eventually became a bit too repetitive for us, and then gradually began branching out to doing more domestic works for individual customers. We began doing these small jobs, and began being complimented from our skill level, our positive attitude, and the helpful information we provided our clients. We found we was finishing our work feeling refreshed and energetic for the next day, something we had never experienced before. I guess the saying it is not work if you are enjoying it, and so the following day we handed in our notice to our previous employer, registered our company with companies house, and then went out on our own and haven't looked back for a single day 4 years later.

We are not going to state any cliche sayings like 'we are the best' or 'customer satisfaction guaranteed' as everyone says these. But what we will say is that our reviews prove our customers are satisfied with us, which should be great proof that you shall be just as happy with our work. If you need proof of our passion of the industry then just check out our online presence with all the countless videos, blogs, social media posts, online memberships, huge positive reviews, large amount of pictures of completed work, and this should show you the enthusiasm we have daily, which shall be carried over into your work. And once you have seen all this we want you to ask yourself one question, what could a competitor do better? and we believe after asking this question you will realise why you want to choose us.

We follow all government guid-lines in regards to Covid-19, this means wearing masks and ensuring we keep at least 2M distance at all times. We also ask a selection of questions prior to assertion the level of risk present and customise our plan accordingly such as working with windows open for ventilation etc.

Services

Consumer units, otherwise known as fuse boards, are the heart of your properties electrics, and like all hearts they need to be looked after.

The main purpose of these unit is to correctly distribute the incoming power to the correct circuits, and to turn off in the event of a potential electric shock or fire. Due to age, or a change in safety regulations, you may find your consumer unit may need upgrading. It is often recommended that a consumer unit is done every 10 years to ensure your property is correctly protected, all consumer unit upgrades often come with at least a 5 year labour warranty, 12 months parts warranty, a full property test certificate and a building control notification.

Prices for a consumer unit upgrade vary greatly depending on the age of you existing electrical system and the type of features you want in your new unit, for example an average upgrade with about 6-8 circuits costs about £550, including materials and labour, for a basic option with minimum protection and a high specification board with maximum protection, materials and labour, often costs about £950.

For any more information, please get in touch by either ringing or emailing us, or if you would prefer please check out our website, blogs and social media pages where we have some more information on consumer unit upgrades, including what you can expect, price, types of unit you could have etc.

The new legislations from the UK government mean that no more petrol or diesel vehicles can be manufactured and sold from 2035 onwards, meaning the equivalent option shall be electric vehicles. Here at Falcon Innovations we very much support this as we fight against climate change, and so because of this we have ensured we are experts in the electric vehicle charger industry in advance of the deadlines to help our customers along the way through quality of service and advice.

There are many different types of chargers out there, with some being great, and some being awful, and so we are very fussy with which chargers we fit to ensure the maximum quality and service is provided for our customers, with our go to being the Myenergi Zappi below:

-Myenergi Zappi 7KW Charger - Our go to charger for price and quality, as well as a few nice little features that make it an industry leader - Here at Falcon Innovations we are glad to say we are currently running some great promotions for this charger, meaning our average cost to install this charger is £995, with more awkward installs costing about £1,100/£1,200, making us one of the cheapest installers for this type of charger within the area, as well as only have a waiting time of 2-4 weeks, unlike some competitors which are up to 12 weeks.

For any more information, please get in touch by either ringing or emailing us, or if you would prefer please check out our website, blogs and social media pages where we have some more information on Electric vehicle chargers, including what you can expect, price, types of unit you could have etc.

Sometimes your electrics stop working, and it seems for no reason. We specialise in quick fault finding to try and assist you as much as possible. However, please see below as you may be able to rectify the problem yourself, or failing that this information shall help our engineer to rectify the problem quicker:

1) Firstly, assess what happened prior to the power turning off. Had a light switch just been pressed on? Had something been plugged into the wall? Did you have multiple appliances on at the same time, such as a washing machine and tumble dryer? Have you been using an electrical item for an extended period of time where it could off gotten hot? Have you had a leak? etc.
2) If you have noticed something like this, then turn off or unplug it for the time being.
3) Inspect your fuse board. All switches on the fuse board should be pointing in the upwards position, if one is in down, try flicking it up (it may be more than 1 that are done), this may fix the problem, or it may go POP and turn off again.
4) If the problem still is not fixed, we recommend unplugging all socket outlets, turning off any spur switches and isolators, and switching off any lights that are on.
5) Repeat step 3.
6) If everything in the fuse board stays on, then go round turning switches back on and plugging items in one by one, if it goes POP again after you turn something on then it proves that item is likely faulty and should be replaced. Unplug this item and repeat step 3 again.
7) If the problem still is not fixed, or you find it is happening when you press on a light switch or isolator, then it is time to call an engineer as it will likely be a wiring fault or damaged electrical outlet etc.

If none of the above have worked, and it is an emergency that you would like rectifying ASAP, then please get in touch with us, and one of our engineers shall be in touch. Our rates and process for this work are below to assist:

After contact, our emergency call out engineer shall ring you to talk through the fault, the engineer shall try to assess the problem over the phone, or at least gain a better understanding of what could off caused the problem. If the problem can not be rectified over the phone our engineer shall attend your property.

Please be aware that our rates for emergency call outs are £75 for the initial call out and upto the first 30 minutes on site, then £75 per hour after that, plus the cost of any materials required to rectify the problem.

EICRs stand for Electrical Installation Condition Report. This test is performed to assertion the condition and level of safety your property provides, to ensure you are adequately protected incase of a potential fault, electric shock or fire.

When to have one?
It is recommended you have one done on your own property every 5 years, and we often ask that you ensure one is done prior to buying a new house so there are no nasty surprises. If you have a rented property, it is now MANDATORY to have an EICR completed every 5 years, with all remedial works completed within 28 days after.

How much is an EICR?
Our rates for EICRs are £145 up to, and including, 3 bedrooms, assuming there is only 1 fuse board to test, and around £185 for 4-5 bedroom properties. Larger properties, or larger properties with extra rooms, shall require a customised quote for your EICR.

What will an EICR involve?
To complete an EICR we shall require access to all rooms, and as many electrical outlets as possible (if there is furniture in the way then we can work around this) for testing. Most work shall be completed at the fuse board, and the power shall have to be turned off for 1-3 hours (we do have a power pod that we can provide customers to plug in Wi-Fi routers, computers etc. subject to availability). Following the EICR you shall be provided with an invoice and the EICR report which shall either be satisfactory or un-satisfactory. If the report is un-satisfactory, then we shall provide you with a list of works that need completing and a quote for them. These failed works MUST be completed within 28 days from the testing, or at least a diary date must have been booked in for it
