I picked Fairtech from an Internet search for local architects. Matt responded very quickly to my email, we made arrangements to meet at my house where we discussed what I required. Within the agreed time scale Matt had drawn up the plans for my inspection and approval, once agreed, he then submitted them to Manchester City Council for approval. The council have now approved the plans, and I am delighted with Matt for the work/plans received and the speedy resolution that arose from them. More...

Not impressed. The plans have been rejected. If he had spent 2 minutes on the planning portal he would have known why. Nice pictures but no detailed plans. A lot of money wasted. More...

I arranged to conduct a measured survey at Mrs Cockerton's address the next day, despite having to re-schedule on-going work. At our meeting, the differences between permitted development and a householder planning application were discussed. Mrs Cockerton's desired kitchen extension (to match an existing rear extension) fell outside of the guidance given on the Planning Portal website as the rear projection would be greater than 3m. It was agreed that we would proceed with a householder planning application, and my planning drawing was approved for submission by Mrs Cockerton prior to me doing so. The desired rear projection was greater than that normally allowed by Wirral MBC, and an amendment to the proposal was requested by the planning officer (to reduce the rear projection by 263mm). It is not uncommon for amendments to be requested by the Local Planning Authority during a planning application. I have recently led an application nearby where we were successful in securing planning permission despite the proposed rear projection being 2m greater than would normally be allowed by the Local Planning Authority. It should be noted that this negative review was left during the planning process, when the building regulation drawings were still in production, and no contact was made directly to myself regarding any concerns. The building regulation drawings and specification have since been provided electronically to Mrs Cockerton in line with the timescales discussed at our meeting.

Clear and concise on what could be provided and what the price was. Whilst it was more than I expected, it was in line with other quotes. Drawing were highly professional and have been accepted by the planning department as sufficient. Result! More...

I love working alongside homeowners and small business owners as I get to meet new people, in new places and on a variety of projects.

During the last 12 months of working full time, I realised that working on large industrial and commercial projects day in, day out wasn't really for me. Being out of the house for over 12 hours a day in all weathers wasn't really my idea of fun. Although I still offer site based services, the bulk of my work is now drawing building plans which enables me to work around a growing family.

Topographical surveys are required by Architects prior to designing buildings specifically for your plot. We have experience in surveying small residential building plots right up to commercial projects such as golf driving ranges. Plans can be forwarded to your Architect electronically but of course we can provide full size plans on paper.
