Amazing. Always available to offer fitness,motivational or nutritional advice. Always willing to travel or train with you at the drop of a hat. When I first started liftin weights properly wayne actually travelled from Stourbridge to warwick at his own cost, paid for a days pass @ my gym and took me through a session explaining each muscle trained and explaining the exercise thoroughly. Couldn't hold him on a higher pedestal or reccomened him higher. Who else would be best trained to be your personal trainer then someone who has been at both ends of the fitness and health scale. Fabulous Hotel in beautiful grounds, just outside Stratford upon Avon. Went for my daughters hen weekend, so pleased we chose this Hotel as it didn't disappoint. From the Spa, the grounds, the apartment and last but not least the Staff were all excellent. While we waited for our taxi to go into town, which was inexpensive, we sat overlooking the grounds at the back and were greeted by Sean, what a delightful chap. He checked that we were happy with everything and promised us a glass of bubbly that evening. True to his word he met us again on the evening and served us with the bubbly which we all appreciated. All in all we had a wonderful weekend and won't hesitate to recommend this hotel. More...

Performing for a friend's wedding with my band. Unfortunately the event timings had changed and we hadn't been informed which got us off to a bad start but they did their best to accommodate this on the day. We were served a few bottom of the barrel ales too which were undrinkable. However, the building was wonderful and the Champagne was affordable! I would like to go back as a relaxed guest sometime! Beautiful hotel with some great character features - the fireplace to the left through the main entrance is stunning, especially all decorated for Christmas.

The staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful.

Parking needs to be looked at during busy times & when events are on as there is not nearly enough spaces for the number of guests expected. Many cars had to park on the grass verges down the lane - not ideal either for keeping the hotels gardens looking nice or for guests dressed up that have to wade through the mud on a wet day & then walk for several minutes up the road. Gorgeous property settled in the country, with easy access from the nearby highway. The staff are very welcoming, and accommodating. The bedrooms are very spacious, and the beds are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Large, spacious bathrooms, with plenty of room to stretch out in the tub. The garden is breathtaking, and offers dining overlooking this space. The pricing here is extremely reasonable, which makes the stay here all the more rewarding. If you're ever in this area, I highly recommend an overnight stay, and a walk through the gardens. It's truly picture-book worthy! More...

Only went for tea but have stayed previously...lovely old historic building but card key slots make a right racket with doors opening and closing all nite long! !! Who invented those card keys? Played golf at the hotel and it is a great course, well maintained and a decent challenge. Some of the views overlooking Stratford and the surrounding areas are stunning. We had a breakfast bap in the clubhouse before the round and the service was attentive and the food was good. After the round had a drink and again the service was excellent. Stayed here for 2 night for a weekend get away. Lovely, old building with plenty of character. The room was clean and nicely furnished with a comfy bed. Breakfast was adequate, with a range of hot and cold foods. Lots of seating over a few lounge and bar rooms. Spa facilities are excellent with the outside pool being amazing fun, an inside jacuzzi, foot spas, sauna and steam room. The only disappointment was dinner. We had a 3course meal included in our stay and the meat, although sounding exciting, was bland and tasteless with poor service from the waiting staff (forgot our order, served others before us who came in after and rude when we asked for some water to go with our wine). Having said that, I would definitely return because the rest of the stay was fantastic, just wouldn't eat in the restaurant. More...

The hotel had a lot of character, log fire in the large lounge area downstairs really gave it a cosy feel. The room itself was very spacious with tall ceilings, great furnishing, lovely stay, the spa was also good with lots of features/treatments and most importantly clean, will definitely go back!

An old style hotel full of character. Great views, good food (breakfast only) and comfy rooms. TV is via a huge Apple Mac. Might be a challenge to older generations! Some cosmetic issues eg curtains don't move on the rail and bath side panel with black mildew but relatively small dibs that should not pit you off. Staff courteous and attentive. Stunning building in a gorgeous location. Fantastic views over the golf course and surrounding countryside. Service was fantastic, and the food was incredible. Until breakfast, where there was a small selection of hot foods, many of which were cold. The breakfast room lacked atmosphere, and the chairs were uncomfortable. We recently stayed at The Welcombe after a family gathering at the same hotel. We received a warm welcome by the staff and checked into our room easily. The room itself was a good size and had a great view of the house and gardens. As we spent the day at the hotel we were aware that there were a couple of functions on at the same time, one being a wedding (which is to be expected on a Saturday in July) so we anticipated some disturbance in the evening from the inevitable disco. Thankfully, our room positioning meant that once the disturbance was to a minimum which I was relieved about as we were staying there with our 18 month old daughter. However, at about 9.30pm I heard the worst, most loudest bangs coming from fireworks being set off not too far from our window. These went on for about 15 minutes and of course my daughter awoke quite scared and upset. Had we been warned that fireworks were to be set off I could have made sure my daughter wasn't fast asleep when it happened. I find it quite unacceptable that we were not told about the fireworks, particularly when it was obvious we had our young daughter with us.

The breakfast the following morning was fine. There was a good selection available and it was all lovely.

We enjoyed our stay at The Welcombe, it was just a shame about the fireworks. The staff were pleasant and very helpful and I would recommend the hotel (but perhaps just avoid wedding season!). More...

Great location, set really far away from the road so no traffic noise. Staff were polite and efficient booking us in. Room was really nice with a great 4 poster. There was a wedding on, and there were lots of noisy kids playing on the grass until about 11pm, by which time my wife had phoned reception and asked if they could be quietened. The noise shortly stopped so that was good. Will definitely be returning, but I might phone first to see if they are hosting a wedding during our stay! More...

Took my wife here for two days to celebrate her 70th birthday, the hotel and gardens were fantastic. On check in the receptionist [Anna] upgraded us to a four poster room to help us celebrate our special time,
The restaurant was a special experience having a fantastic meal overlooking the hotel Italian Gardens. In the bar we met a new starter to the hotel [Kayley] who was very friendly and professional in her role.

Returned to the Welcombe on a complimentary stay after our initial visit went wrong. Mr Burford was extremely apologetic and we were moved to The Falcon which, while being nice, wasn't the stay I had planned as a treat to my wife.

On this return visit we were treated like royalty, a reserved space in the busy car park and a four poster room with an amazing view. The staff were ever so friendly and what had been a nightmare in January turned into a dream in May.
