Eyetooth-Art provides a full graphic and web design solution for you.
This includes branding and logo design, illustration and any other designs for both print and web based media.
For my web design work I am proficient in producing both bespoke HTML sites and CMS sites using WordPress.
My graphic design work encompasses everything you could possibly need. This includes company stationery, posters / flyers, brochures, cd covers, menus, signs and much more.

What makes a great website?

A great website is developed with love and attention to detail. I feel that the best designs are the ones that are visually captivating and strive to show something unique and bespoke - not out of the box templates.
Websites should always endeavour to have some engaging features. These can be anything from small animations or interactive features to quirky layout elements. They will grab a users attention and entice them to read the clever content and hopefully be the deciding factor in using your services.
A website must always look and work beautifully on all devices, so creating a responsive layout that is both functional and visually stimulating on both mobile and desktop devices is imperative.
I also value fast loading times, ease of use and a great user experience.
Creativity and well thought out concepts and ideas are key to producing great websites. Always think outside the box - especially with web design.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

To begin with, I like to get a feel for what a customer's personal tastes are, so I can develop a solution that will fit their preferred style and preferences.
I also establish what they have in place already; i.e. logo, stationery etc. This enables me to maintain any branding they have established, while ensuring their designs and marketing material are inline with their visual brand identity.
Finding out about their business and their goals for the future is also beneficial. This information allows me to make suggestions and build design solutions that will help realise their goals and aspirations.
Another important question is to ask what sort of budget they have to work with. Knowing this information, before starting any work, is key to providing the best possible designs within the available budget.
There are usually some other key questions, but these are specific to each project or service I will be providing.

Describe your creative process.

I usually start by carefully reading through the brief and brainstorming a clever ideas and solutions.
I then begin producing rough mock-ups or ideas. The process will differ slightly depending on the type of project I am working on. For example, when creating a logo, I will produce around 6 variations. These are then shown to the client for feedback. Once I have heard back from the client, we can usually focus on one or two options, fine tuning them to produce something truly captivating. This process is similar for my other graphic and web design work, these usually involve fewer initial concepts, but maintain the client involvement throughout the design process.
After the initial proofs are accepted, I can either begin coding the site or polish the designs into print ready artwork.
I always strive to create designs that the client is happy with, but also don't hesitate to make recommendations, if I feel that something will not provide the best possible results.

What information do you need from a client before you can start work?

I like to have a detailed brief before starting work, but am happy to provide advice or suggestions during the process too. Clients often need to discuss a project with their designer to better understand the possibilities, so me being available to answer queries or provide pertinent advice, always produces the best results.
The advantage of having a detailed brief, is that the client has thought out their business plan and objectives. This planning will enable me to focus on what I do best - design. It also ensures that costs are kept down, due to the fact that there will not be any massive changes down the line.
I can often source imagery where necessary, but being provided with copy and important information that needs to be included is imperative.
Each project is unique, so applicable questions should be applied individually. I always like to get a feel for the client's likes and dislikes, as these help me avoid particular styles while providing designs that are embraced and loved.

What do you love most about your job?

I love being visually creative. Whether working in vectors for a logo, using Photoshop to do photo retouching, creating captivating backgrounds and imagery or coding some funky features into a website - I adore it all.
As I provide a complete design solution, I enjoy the challenges each service provides, while also relishing the process of combining them all into a cohesive whole.
By planning how a logo or brand elements can be used throughout the marketing material, to produce something truly unique and clever, also gives me a lot of satisfaction.
I thrive when pushing the boundaries of design and stay inspired through my diverse range of work.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started my own business, so that I could provide the best possible service to my clients, while having a bit more creative freedom. In my previous roles, I always thought about what could be managed or done better.
I believe in providing a friendly, reliable service, that nurtures both my customer's and my own needs. Happy customers make me happy too.
Working for myself is rewarding, in that, I can take full responsibility for everything I do. The harder I work, the more I benefit from it.

I always strive for excellence. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so go above and beyond, to provide stunning artwork that suits the client's needs exquisitely. By providing a responsive, personal and friendly service, I maintain a happy and productive working relationship.
Most important of all, is that I want to create beautiful designs, that are both functional and visually captivating - I never stop pushing the boundaries.

Steve is the most communicative of the various designers I have tried; he is also the most thoughtful and patient. He did almost unending revisions for my site, and evolved a complex image almost entirely from scratch. He did it so well people have commented on the business card. I have engaged him again for a second design project - and he's really good value for money as well.

I would highly recommend Eyetooth-Art. I used tSteve to create my logo, I knew what I wanted, yet I just could not do it myself. I explained to Steve what I wanted and within hours I had my logo sitting in front of me, just how I had imagined it to be.
I made a couple of changes in colours and sizes, but not much to alter at all and Steve was a real gent. Never complained if I said it was not quite right. He worked with me until it was just right. He is very reasonable priced as well!
