The crew from Eyecon was very professional with our client on set. However we were charged an extra 50% cancellation fee when an unforeseen ice storm hit the day before our shoot — despite the fact that we never cancelled the shoot and no one was able to work or even allowed on the roads. We gave 24 hours notice and rescheduled for a few days after the storm and yet were still penalized and charged for “cancelling”. Once our footage was received it had quality issues which were due to using inferior cameras and not doing diligence with certain camera settings. When I tried to inquire about the issues I was treated with dismissive vague responses, insulting words for my highly experienced editor who had to deal with the footage, and unprofessional condescension. I will not be hiring Eyecon for any services again, nor will I be recommending this company to my other production contacts. After leaving this honest and accurate review of my experience with the company the owner sent me two personal text messages threatening to write retaliatory reviews. I stand by the truthful accuracy of this review and this company would be wise to treat customers who have true issues with Eyecon’s services with a reasonable level of professionalism. Regarding the company’s response: My editor who checked the issues is one of the industry’s best and most experienced. My complaint about the lower quality camera types can be verified by other reviewers on Glassdoor. The owner of Eyecon omitted parts of his personal text messages to me wherein he threatened to “tell people not to work with Judith”. Passage of time does not negate or lessen a customer’s right to post an accurate review of another company’s services. The production company owner Christian, who was charged the extra 50% for the snow storm “cancellation” and for the extra work incurred by my editor due to the footage quality issues, currently owes out thousands in unpaid invoices to vendors including myself and my editor. This is the actual context of his statement about not being on good terms.
