I just had my wedding in June 2017 and Modern Sound Deejays made it such a special day!! Seriously Modern Sound is the BEST. I was first introduced to them at my friend’s wedding. They kept the party super lively and fun the whole time. I enjoyed them so much I knew I wanted to hire them for my own wedding. The person I worked with was Eric and he is awesome. I ended up going with one of their 4 hour packages with the ceremony and photoblast added. I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced they were for what they delivered. From the first email I sent Eric he was super professional and really timely with his responses, which I absolutely appreciated as someone making a million decisions at the time. I always felt like the music and the flow of the party were handled because Eric was always so organized. Besides being super professional and timely, the folks at Modern Sound know parties, vibes, making it live!! My husband and I danced the whole night, my family and friends danced a bunch too. Even our caterer, who’s been to a ton of weddings was talking about how good the music was. People were even singing along to songs during dinner. My vision for music that day was a fun house party vibe, truly a celebration and Eric and his team understood this and delivered in spades. What was awesome was that they tailored the music to me and my husband’s taste and made sure to play the songs we definitely wanted to hear and left out the ones we definitely didn’t want to hear. I have to say they we my favorite vendors to work with for my wedding. If you’re looking for DJs who not only know how to bring the party but are the consummate professionals, hire Modern Sound. They were amazing!! I got married last August and one of the things my family and friends still talk about is the DJ / music.

My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to go with Modern Sound Deejays for our wedding last August. We opted in for the package that included DJ, MC, day-of-coordinator, uplighting, gobo, and TV screens. Our main concern was finding someone who can understand our mixed guest vibe (family being pretty traditional whereas friends ready to party). Eric and his team were spot-on. They were professional but down-to-earth, provided warmth and fun, and stepped in during the right moments. From the very first reply I received from Eric at Modern Sound Deejays (MSD), I just had a really good feeling that my wedding would be in the right hands.
I was an eager bride, on a budget, and hunting for the best wedding packages we could afford without compromising on quality. As their very first bride to be booked as a new company, let me tell you – these guys did a PHENOMENAL job!!! I was probably their biggest pain in the butt also lol I sent these guys an email like every week asking them all sorts of questions. However, Eric always responded kindly and had the utmost patience and respect. He always responded within minutes to a day or two at most, which was always appreciated.
During the planning stages, MSD did a wonderful job with attending to our every request. One thing that I was pleasantly surprised about was that Eric made the effort to Skype chat us during an event since we couldn’t make it out there to view their setup. He answered all of our questions and was totally patient with us. After we ended the call, that totally sealed the deal. How could we NOT book them after they had shown time and time again that they were committed to making our day exactly how we envisioned? So with no doubt in our minds that they’d have our day covered – we booked them!
Fast forward to the day of our wedding… I texted them the morning of the wedding to let them know that I forgot to include soca (not sure how I could do that since my whole family is Caribbean). And at about 3 AM, I sent them the files for the two slideshows that would be played during the reception – one during the Father/Daughter dance and another about our love story. Well folks – I can happily say that soca definitely got played and my family was dancing the night away! And during the father-daughter dance, there was not one dry eye! The slideshows that I procrastinated in sending, played perfectly!
During the ceremony, someone was supposed to sing a song while we were signing the marriage license. As soon as my hubs & I went up to sign it, we both noticed that person was nowhere to be found! Just when I was about to panic, I was quickly put at ease as MSD started to play the John Legend track that she was supposed to sing. Right then and there I smiled – and if I knew where they were in that room, I would’ve given them a huge smile or thumbs up.
Literally a second before we were going to be announced in, the hubby told our MC, Jonathan, that he wanted us to come in to some NBA theme song and huddle up, and Jonathon said he’d see what he could do. I told my hubs it was wayyy too late to be changing things on them so I told him they probably won’t be able to play it. We go out there to our original song and what song do we hear playing after The NBA huddle thing that my hubs asked them about just a moment before! If you saw my husband’s face while huddling with all of his best friends and his wife, you could just tell he was excited that they made that happen for us at such short notice.
Me, being the crazy bride I was, made a mental note of every single song I heard play that I put on the request sheet. And right next to me was my husband pointing out all the songs that he put on the list that they played. They really played the best mixture of songs and genres my hubs and I requested and we were very happy about that.
I was trying to think of any negatives. The only thing that came to mind was there was no spotlight during parent and first dances – but I’m not exactly sure whether it was supposed to be specified or if it was included in the dance floor lighting as I had thought. Either way, their overall service throughout the entire process was phenomenal and I can definitely forgive and forget that one thing since so many things went right.
In regards to our MC…Jonathon was great! Checked in with us throughout the night about how things were going and how we wanted everything to go. He took a bunch of great shots of everyone on the dancefloor and caught moments that our photographer didn’t get a chance to get so that was really awesome to see. Everyone told us that the entire day was well organized and everything just “flowed” –and that is all thanks to Jonathon, Eric, and the team at MSD! I know this review is long, but I believe in giving respect where it’s due. These guys went above and beyond so it’s only fair that I return the favor. Book these guys!! You won’t regret it!

Modern Sound Deejays rock! Had a rooftop party for Cinco De Mayo and they kept the whole party moving the entire night! We provided them with a list of songs that we'd like to hear and they hit them all in addition to adding their own personal flair.
Great energy, super friendly, and professional plus they take a ton of pictures to help capture the day :) Look forward to using them in the future, highly recommend!

I called Jonathan in a moment of despair haha! There were 5 days left before the wedding and we decided we would like to have a DJ.
He did EVERYTHING he could to accommodate us. He had a previous commitment and for an entire day he tried to manage that to see if he could DJ us too. He eventually said he could not change the schedule, but again, he did EVERYTHING to find us another DJ. He was very open and told us he only wants to recommend good DJs, so he had to search longer. He also did everything possible to accommodate our budget constraints. After a day of search, he found me a DJ, an amazing DJ that came with his MC and arranged the whole restaurant with lights. The music was amazing, the atmosphere was great and my guests are still sending me messages telling me how much fun they had and how great the music was.
I recommend Jonathan and I will personally keep his contact for the future, for any events!

My husband found our dj company for our wedding and when he told me they were traveling from NY to FL I was having major panic attacks! !! From the moment the team landed they were in contact with us to go over final details, they were at the venue way before I was. I worked mostly with Eric. He is extremely professional, flexible and responsive. He always made himself available to meet or answer any of my questions. The MC during the wedding was very focused and wanted to make sure to please us. He was also on top of the order of events which I found to be super helpful. I can honestly say that out of the dozens of vendors I worked with to make my Fire Island wedding a dream come true... Modern Sound Deejays were.
.. no... are our favorite to work with. Great people, amazing professionalism, and certainly no lack of skill in what they do. We had people on the floor from intros to even after the final song, our wedding was 9 days ago and people are STILL talking about the DJ's and our kick ass MC, Matteo (the ladies loved him). Eric was very responsive with emails and facebook messages. They listened to our interests, ceremony music involved the Halo soundtrack for the boys to enter to, a song from a low budget youtube film for me to walk down the aisle to and the Star Wars theme song for us to come back down the aisle as husband and wife and at the reception... oldies, new hits, DMX from the late 90s and even a little punk rock moshing action for one of our last dances... Even though they were sceptical, they took the ferry to the venue and rocked it... helped us perform the perfect beach ceremony with their mic and speakers and musical entertainment... Eric even took time out of his day to wish me a happy birthday several weeks before the event ever happened.
With our package we also got the gobo light... now none of the designs they had was what we were looking for. We had a wooden monogram of our initials made to be our guestbook... he recommended we send him a photo of it and he made that into our gobo design.... simply amazing.
As exciting as planning a wedding and seeing all of your wedding hopes come true and marrying the man of your dreams can be... we had a very unfortunate death in the family, my 19 year old cousin had an aneurysm just 2 days after the wedding and passed a few days after that while my new husband and I were on our honeymoon several thousand miles away... we reached out to Eric to see if we would be able to get a couple photos of all of our last event with my cousin to send to family and he sent us all that he had within 12 hours... even after the wedding was over, they still treated us like family and that is something that myself, my husband, and my family will never forget.
Modern Sound Deejays is for sure the only DJ company we will ever need or use ever again. ♡

Maaaaaan! Modern Sound Deejays did a phenomenal job. I haven't been to too many weddings besides my own, but I have been told not many have guests that stay on the dance floor for so long. We had a phenomenal experience with Modern Sound Deejays from start to finish -- and even after our wedding!
Not only were they willing to travel from NYC to Cape Cod, they were a pleasure to plan with, considerate, asked thoughtful questions and made sure every detail was to our liking.
They not only met our expectations, but instead exceeded them by being able to accommodate us on all music requests, our guests' music requests and honoring specific traditions!
Eric and Jonathan had us dancing all night long (including my husband who usually doesn't dance). They helped us truly form lasting memories.
We loved having them there -- as did our family members and guests. By the end of the night, everyone we spoke to noted that our deejays provided the best entertainment and atmosphere they had ever experienced at a wedding before and we strongly agree!
The entertainment and professionalism they provided was well worth our investment of time, money and joy! Moreover, we were honored to have them contribute to our big day! They were a pleasure to be around. Positive attitudes for sure!

Open format and an open book. We've worked with people from all walks of life.
What makes photo booths such a great alternative to traditional photographers?
Instantaneous prints and customized templates. Also it becomes a group activity vs. an individual one.
What photo booth props do you offer?
All Themed props according to the event. We've done Weddings, Sweet Sixteens, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Proms, Quinces and more.
What do you love most about your job?
We get to see people enjoy themselves and fall in love all over again every weekend/week/day.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Knowing the business so well and the drive to not have to wait for someone else to make progress. I started my own business to be able to give my clients what they want.
