we were looking for a new start at a healthy lifestyle then we seen a advertisement for evolution training. it read ju jitsu crossfit kickboxing. I've always had a love for kickboxing and also knew it would be great for my children to learn self defense so we made an appointment and as soon as we arrived we were told everything we wanted to hear the schedules the trainnings, classes times, and the prices. it had something for us all so we signed up and as soon as we got there we immediately greeted and it felt like we belonged there kinda like a 2nd home. we werent strong or had alot of cardio so they started us off slow at our own pace and they worked us up from there. we now officially have friends/2nd family, are much stronger and healthier and the children have good constructive outlets. we have nothing but good things or feeling to have about evolution and the trainers there, why not join? make the choice JOIN NOW!!! lol More...

Evolution Training is a great place to work out. I especially love Crossfit. I like the fact that every workout is planned out daily for me. It’s always something different to where you don't become bored doing the same thing over and over. They have great trainers who gives their undivided attention to each individual person's needs. There is also a great deal of sincere encouragement to persevere threw every task. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is committed to getting healthy and staying physically fit. During my first visit to GJJ, every member of the gym walked up to me and shook my hand. I was surprised by how friendly everyone was.

In addition to the positive atmosphere, GJJ offers top notch jiu-jitsu training. Ernest "Waffle" Ellender is a black belt under the tutelage of Dave Camarillo (UFC trainer of title-fight contenders Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch) and he's the best trainer you'll find near Houma. GJJ also has multiple high-level purple belts who teach the classes and offer great advice for refining your jiu-jitsu game.

I just started exercising because I was reluctant to join a gym. I was worried that I would be working out with a bunch of cocky meatheads. I am relieved to find the staff and members at Evolution training are awesome. This is what I found:The trainers are very knowledgeable and provide good instruction. The training environment is friendly. The gym is kept clean. They have good equipment. They look out for me and make sure I don't over-train and hurt myself.The best part of working out at Evolution is the members. I joined this gym when I first moved to Louisiana , I joined the Cross fit and the kick boxing class combo and I got a great workout each time I stepped foot inside the gym. The instructors are very well trained in everything from dead-lifts to the perfect strike and take down. Being so new in the area , this gym was also a benefit for me because the community within the gym was awesome , from the instructors to the other members everyone was very friendly. Dr. Waffle runs a great academy! Sweating, smiling and learning - that's what I know I'm in for when I walk into Evolution. What I really enjoy is that the techniques are legit, but there is no "tough guy" attitude at the gym.  Everyone is welcoming and enthusiastic about martial arts.  Even their top MMA fighter Scotty is incredibly approachable and up beat.  If you want a great workout and serious martial arts then definitely check out Evolution. I have wanted to train in martial arts since high school, but never got a chance. Now at 26 years old, I finally have a steady job and decided to shop around to finally get started training. When I got to Evolution Training, I realized I found my new home! The main things that drew me in were the beginners' classes and the friendly people there. After training there for 7 months now, I have realized that all the top students here who compete are state champions in LA, MS or FL. These guys were so nice from day one that I didn't realize they are killers in competition! The beginners' classes gave me a thorough foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and I soon tested out of beginner classes into the advanced classes. After 6 months of Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu, I decided to add kickboxing classes to my membership, and those have been a blast. It's only been a month, and I'm already seeing drastic improvements in the power of my punches and kicks. The instructors are patient and KNOW what they are doing...they both teach and have impressive competition records themselves. Personally, I don't think I want to compete at this point, but it is very nice to know that what I am learning is the real deal and wins competitions if I chose that route. If you are thinking about getting into grappling or striking, make SURE you check out Evolution Training before you make your final decision...they are the best value anywhere around!!! More...

Evolution Training is a great place to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As a brown belt who travels to different gyms to train, I make it a point to visit this gym monthly. I first came here because of the special offer of free private lesson, uniform and trial period, and I have been here almost every day since. We have a lot of fun here every week. A lot of great instruction, lots of drilling and all the training I could ask for. The instructors are cool too, and take their time answering my questions. I've only been training 3 months now, but I'm learning fast and look forward to competing. My instructors Waffle, Scotty and Anne are very encouraging but also cautious about me not competing too soon before I'm really ready.
