Lisa was in all honesty the best catering experience we’ve had by far. She catered our wedding in October 2018 and leading up to the wedding we got to enjoy a full tasting, excellent communication and even an opportunity to have her team be apart of our day of coordination (for an excellent price). This review is long overdue. I was married in July and Lisa was our caterer. We chose her because she really is the best value for the money in the entire county. Her cooking is incredible! She also really tries to go above and beyond to help her couples. She loaned us a gorgeous cake stand and gave us the option to use some of her decor pieces if we wanted. She really is invested in your day and will give your guests the best meal they've ever had at a wedding. With that said, a couple things we agreed upon were not executed at the end of the night. The entire top tier of our cake was tossed out instead of coming home with us, We had also ordered two boxes of bite-sized desserts which were not delivered, and part of our contract was that Lisa and her team were bringing the mixers for our bar (they didn't and had to run out and buy them right before the ceremony).  I genuinely would recommend Lisa to anyone because she truly does care, her food is out of this world and she is a great value. I would just say that you'll need to review EVERYTHING with Lisa several times before the day to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Overall- great vendor though. More...

My wife and I chose Epic Catering for our wedding reception at the Thursday Club this August and we feel so lucky to have had Lisa and staff on our team.  Our guests raved about the food and the service was excellent.  Lisa and her team totally delivered on the day of which is the most important part of it all.  Epic offered better food on a budget than any other approved vendor on the Club's list.  We chose a filet mignon roast and a mustard crusted chicken breast (shockingly tasty) along with yummy sides.  Our hors d'oeuvres were seafood and a fantastic pork slider that I wish I had more of right now.  The staff was courteous, professional and friendly even though it was on one of the hottest days of the summer.  Epic is a small business and doesn't have a team of salespeople or a marketing staff to ensure a large volume of reviews.  We had to trust Lisa and the Thursday Club for having Epic on their approved list of caterers.  Frankly, Lisa and her team deserve more reviews because they can cook and deliver.  We were not asked to write a review for Epic, if Lisa had a marketing team I would expect many more 5 star reviews.  Thank You Lisa for coming through and making us look smart with all of our family and friends.  We've been day dreaming of having leftovers. We used Epic Catering in January 2017 at The Thursday Club. Working with Lisa (the owner) was a breeze. She was creative in her menu creation and very flexible to our likes and dislikes. I’ve never worked with a caterer like her! She’s bubbly and sweet - incredibly reassuring and overall, a true joy to work with. The staff she brings with her are top-notch as well. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day.
The added value of Lisa is she acts as a pseudo-Day-Of Coordinator in regards to the timeline. She ensures the day runs smoothly, with food coming out on time (or disappearing on time), as well as works with the DJs to make up for any gaps or lags. She definitely knows her stuff!
And the food! You can’t talk about catering without talking about the food. Holy wow! It was so nice to work with a caterer who was so involved in food preparation and her talent really shows. We couldn’t stop eating on our wedding day and actually felt full! Overall, 100% happy working with Lisa and Epic Catering. More...

Epic is the friendly, fantastic food and affordable. I have been using them for years. They are on time and take care of everything so I do not have to worry and can concentrate on my guests. Food is displayed elegantly and the staff very accommodating I couldn't ask for more.

Lisa and her staff are amazing. They are much more than fantastic caterers. They are also great at event planning.
We had our son’s wedding in our backyard with around 30 guests in May 2018. Before the wedding, Lisa came our to our home and went over every detail to make this a special day. They prepared a full course French dinner along with the most scrumptious appetizers in our kitchen. They decorated all the tables beautifully, handed out glasses of champagne, walked around with trays of amazing appetizers, served us our complete dinner, filled our glasses with water, wine and champagne, looked after our every need, helped with the cutting of the wedding cake, cleaned up the kitchen completely, clearing all the dishes away and cleaning them. They were so professional, friendly and she even brought the centerpieces for us. We didn’t have to do a thing but enjoy our son’s wedding\reception.
I had received a few quotes from other caterers, but none of the others offered all the services that Epic Catering did. And the other caterers were much more expensive.
I highly, highly recommend Epic catering for any event whether it is 2 people or a 1000. All the guests were so impressed with Lisa and her staff, the food and the care they gave to everything. Thank you Lisa and your staff for making our son’s wedding reception the most magical and memorable ever.

We can't say enough amazing things about Epic Catering!  Lisa and her team went above and beyond anything we could expect from our wedding caterer.   Nearly a year later and our friends and family are still talking about how amazing the food and service were. Lisa is a take charge kind of lady!  Above any other catering she came out to have an in person consultation with us from the very beginning to really get a feel for what we were looking for before she gave us a quote or just sent us a standardized meal option plan.   I felt so much relief and stress free after meeting her because I knew she had it handled and I didn't have to worry. 5 STARS - Lisa and her team went above and beyond for our wedding and reception. The food was unbelievable. We are still hearing about how amazing the filet mignon and sea-bass was at our reception. All of our appetizers were fantastic and my only regret is that we didn't order more sangria. Everyone loved it. Lisa is a one-stop-shop, she arranged all florals and table centerpieces and even my bridal bouquet and my grooms boutonniere. She made sure my flower girls had real petals and she put together and decorated our wedding arch. All the chairs were quietly rearranged from ceremony site to reception site, and my whole family loved her and her staff. If you want a low-stress wedding you get to actually enjoy because it's being handled by a true professional, hire Lisa and her team. It was a pleasure to work with Epic Catering for our wedding ceremony and reception.   The owner of the catering company, Lisa, met with us on multiple occasions prior to the event to get a good idea of our styles, wants, and needs for our wedding and reception.  Lisa has a lot of experience in event management and provided us with a lot of good ideas for both the event and food options. She also provided very reasonable prices and showed a willingness to work with us within our budget. Epic catering had the rental equipment and wedding decor set up and looking great prior to the event.  Lisa and her staff ran the entire event very smoothly and quickly and discreetly rearranged rental chairs between the wedding ceremony and reception without notice.  Most importantly, our guests loved the food and we are still hearing positive reviews about the food weeks later from guests who attended.    I would highly recommend Epic Catering for any type of event. Lisa and her team are absolutely fabulous!  I wish I could give them more than five stars.  I used them for my wedding and people are still giving us complements weeks later about the food.  Lisa and her staff went above and beyond to make our big day so special.From our initial meeting, Lisa's passion for food and catering was apparent.  My husband and I were drooling over her menu ideas, and after just a few minutes together, Lisa understood what our vision was and helped us seamless incorporate the catering to achieve the family-centered wedding we wanted within our budget.  I planned most of my wedding from the other side of the country, and Lisa was very responsive via phone and email and  fit me in for meetings while I was in town visiting.  The food at both our tasting and wedding was incredible and our son, who is normally a very picky eater, cleaned his plate both times.  Finally, Lisa's experience and expertise is invaluable.  She recommended almost all of my vendors, saving me time, money, and stress, and went above and beyond personally contacting them for me and driving me to one or two of them when my husband had to go to a meeting.  She made wonderful suggestions about decorations, seating, and table placement.  Also, she essentially served as my day of coordinator, making sure the timing of the set up, ceremony, pictures, dinner, and dancing went smoothly and adjusting as needed.I cannot say thank you enough to Lisa and her staff for helping my husband and I plan the perfect wedding and for taking such good care of us on our big day! We had the pleasure of working with Lisa and her team for our rehearsal dinner and wedding. The most important thing to us was great food and a fun experience for our guest. She went over and beyond to make our dream wedding a reality. The food was amazing! Our menus were personalized with items from our first date and engagement dinner. Everything looked beautiful and tasted even better. Lots of flavor but balanced to please everyone's palate. We weren't thrilled about having our guests wait in a buffet line but also didn't want the formality of plated service. Lisa suggested "family style". It was awesome!Lisa has worked at Roy's, owned her own restaurant, and has been in the catering business full-time for quite awhile (+10yrs, I think). She guided us through the process, from planning the menu, to talking us through the wedding timeline (she does a lot of weddings at ZLAC Rowing Club), and troubleshooting day-of problems. She was not only our caterer, she was also our day of coordinator! Over the years couples have given her decorations after their weddings, and she graciously saves them and offers them to other couples. (We were able to use a few things, then add our personal touch.) She has a veteran staff that is quite good and professional. They were friendly and attentive. I hired Lisa at Epic to cater my husband's surprise 50th Birthday in June. My original vision was to do it as inexpensively as I possibly could. I booked ZLAC, a rowing clubhouse on MIssion Bay near the Catamaran Resort - which was such a perfect place to have the party. I wanted to have a taco guy and a keg. I was disappointed to learn I could not have a taco guy. I had to go with one of ZLAC's preferred caterers. So I guess I had to throw a grown-up party! I went with Lisa because her quote was very reasonable, but also because I really liked her and she was a fellow OB resident. I could not have been happier. She pretty much did EVERYTHING for my party. She was flexible as my guest list ballooned. She offered lots of advice on keeping my costs down. She helped me with lots of ideas for decorations and special touches (she provided things like Tiki guys free of charge). We went with Hawaiian BBQ theme and everyone raved about the food. It was delicious. Not like banquet party food which usually sucks. She made an awesome spicy macaroni salad that I loved. And Mai Tai punch that was so good. Before the party Lisa helped me pick out my wine at Trader Joe's. We had a great time. I felt like she was a friend helping me throw a great party. The whole menu was fantastic. She delivered on every promise and she and her entire staff were warm, friendly and fun. And they were hard working and competent too. They did all the set up and clean up and were on time and fabulous. We will never forget how amazing the party was, in large part because of what Lisa and her awesome team did. My husband was very surprised and very very happy.Also I have to say the person who gave one star for a road rage incident (and I don't believe it happened the way he says it did, because every member of Lisa's staff was very courteous at my event) has no business posting a review here. If you are not commenting on the performance of the caterer at an event that you hosted or attended, then save us your road rage blather. I read that review when I was considering hiring Lisa. Wow...The food and presentation was amazing!  Lisa and her team provided full catering for my rehearsal dinner....had I met them sooner I would have had them do my wedding too!  Everything was wonderful....we had everything from an ahi poki appetizer and home made NY style meatballs to the freshest grilled halibut!   I highly recommend this catering company and cant wait to plan my next party with them!!!!!
