I am a self-employed English coach. I prepare students for 11+ and 13+ English, VR and Interviews, and EFL students for IELTS and Cambridge General (FCE, CAE, CPE) and Business (Preliminary, Vantage, Higher) exams. I normally teach online but I also provide tutoring for 11+ and Common Entrance face-to-face.

I took these lessons to improve my grammar as English is not my first language. I took six months of lessons with Guy to prepare for the IELTS exam, and I achieved my target of a '7'.
I enjoyed our lessons - Guy was well-organised and prepared, and took the time to work on my individual problem areas.
He marked all my writing tasks comprehensively and his feedback was very useful in helping me improve to the required standard. He helped me enormously with the speaking section, and patiently taught me how to manage the reading and listening parts of the exam.

What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing people's English improve, and their confidence too!
I also enjoy helping people with their speaking, their accent, and their conversational English.
When tutoring for exams, I employ a structured approach, focusing on people's specific needs and requirements, and I love seeing people's progress towards their desired result.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having taught full-time in language schools in the UK and Switzerland, I decided to become self-employed and teach online. This gives me the chance to meet students from all over the world. It gives me the opportunity to be more mobile, too. I am currently following a programme on 'Online English Teaching', which I hope will make my lessons even more effective.

I speak and write standard (RP) British English and enjoy helping students with their accents.

I will provide as much homework as is required, and I am always happy to correct this and go through it in detail.
