My son has been going to empower martial arts since he was five years old. He is now 11, and we couldn't be happier with them. Sensei Dean Mace and Miss Sarah-Beth are both compassionate and tough at the same time. They are both excellent teachers, and my boy has learned a lot, not just about martial arts, but about respect, focus, self confidence and the right way to live life. I started studying at Empower when I was 23 years old. I can’t say enough kind things about the school and the instructors. Finding an art that teaches respect, discipline, hard work, success and failure is so hard nowadays in a world of instant gratification. I’ve since stopped studying karate because I’ve gotten married and had a baby and life got in the way. I think about Empower all the time and how much I miss the sport but most of all the people and community. I can’t wait until my son is old enough to start on his karate journey. EMA is one of the very best places to train. Its not just about kicking and punching, its about teaching respect by being respectful. Building character through time and patience. Attaining goals and knowing that not everything is instantaneous. And learning and goals are based on the individual.
