EMPIRE MEDALS

Go elsewhere as there are only a few people working, they may be busy and it may take months to get your medals.

I ordered some standard medals and miniatures from Empire Medals on 28 September. Nothing complicated and no mounting (all just loose) as I use a local company for mounting. Heard nothing and on 28 November I said "It is now two months since my order was placed. I have missed wearing them at the planned parades. Please return my money and cancel the order.

Becki Jones (Customer Service Manager) replied to say "Apologies for the delay and thank you for your patience, our turnaround is 8 - 10 weeks for medal mounting. Your order has been completed and ready to ship if you would like us to send out, or if you still wish to cancel, I can process that for you instead. Please let me know how you would like to proceed."

I said "Please return my money" and sourced the medals elsewhere.

Then on 30th November, I started receiving emails to say that "Your order has been shipped" etc. I wasn't sure if it was a con. But the medals were delivered today. So now I don't know what to do... whether to send them back and cancel the others, or what ?

I do understand that there are only a few people working, and the company may be busy because of demands previous demand for jubilee medals but if I had known that the company was (still) struggling to keep up with demand then I would have gone elsewhere.

My advice is to go elsewhere as this company was painfully slow and has caused confusion, or at least make sure that you get a clear estimate of their delivery time when placing an order with them. Then if you want timely delivery and they are busy you can try another company. Or you will know how long it is going to take.

Placed an order which was a case for my 2 medals. The quality was poor, no fitting instructions and the plaque was crinkled white paper!
I emailed them explaining the poor workman ship but would be willing to place another order so they could correct it (paid) but I’ve had no response via email and it’s been over a month. Emails can be replied during lockdown.

I had four medals to have staybright applied and court mounted in time for Remembrance day, they called to say time was tight (11. 10.18) to get them back too me as they very busy, the medals arrived within two weeks and with 11 days to spare, delivery was perfect and communication prior to delivery was first class, I highly recommended this company and no issue endorsing Empire.
