I was very pleased with both Emily's performance and the photos she captured. She came to my house and even stayed several hours to accommodate my three little ones behaviors (the 4 y/o wanted to "help," the 2 y/o wouldn't sit still, and the newborn needed to nurse a lot! ) She was willing to incorporate poses I wanted of my children, while also making professional suggestions on what she thought would look good. We could not be happier choosing Emily to do our 3 year olds' first ever photo session. Emily is very talented, she got amazing pictures of him and managed to keep our lil one engaged through out. She was very patient with our requests and concerns. Her advice on what to wear, location, editing preferences and props worked out great for us! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I think a great photograph is one where the photographer can find and appropriately use the light, capture emotion, and produce an image that elicits feelings of joy.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Tell me exactly what you want to remember about this time in your family's lives. What little quirks would you like me to capture? And how do you hope to display and enjoy your portraits?
What do you love most about your job?
I love getting to know my clients and providing them with unique portraits of their children that make them tear up because they absolutely understand that while the days may be long, the years will fly by. And those little tiny hands that clung so tightly to your finger will one day be slipping a ring onto the finger of their betrothed, and your babies will create lives of their own.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Watching how fast my firstborn changed from a tiny helpless newborn to a baby who could feed himself to an independent explorer in just 12 short months! They grow up in the blink of an eye, and I want to capture it all and have my children's faces everywhere...on my walls, in books, on my phone, my computer wallpaper. I want them to be reminded daily how much I love them. And I want to provide other parents, other families, with that same gift for their little ones.
Why should our clients choose you?
If you are looking for a photographer based on price alone, I cannot compare. There are probably a hundred family/baby photographers in the Pittsburgh area who are less expensive than I am.
But if you are looking for someone who will guide you through planning your custom artwork, who will work diligently to provide you with exactly what you envisioned from your portrait session, who will make sure both you and your children feel comfortable and relaxed during the photo session, and who will sit with you to view your final images and guide you in making those tough decisions when it comes to choosing one image over another......if you are looking for the utmost level of customer service and attention to detail....I'm your girl.
I don't accept your money, take your photos, and then send files via email. I form relationships with my clients. I get to know them so that I can capture their truest selves when they step in front of my camera. That is who I am. And if that is who you want as your photographer, I think we would make a great fit.
