Embassy Suites Louisville Downtown

Embassy Suites Louisville Downtown locationLouisville, Kentucky, Jefferson

Our historic location dates back to April 15, 1907. Old Stewarts Merchandise Shop was the focal point of downtown shopping in Louisville at that time, now on the National Register of Historic Places. The building remains one of the most beautiful preservations in Louisville. You can still see the crown molding, Old Stewarts tile decals, original sky lights, and dramatic pillars. Just across the street you had people such as Al Capone and Gatsby stopping by for the night, what a cool time!

Our team worked closely with the National Trust for Historic Preservation to maintain the original integrity of the building. The Embassy team is finalizing what we believe to be one of the most unique and astonishing hotel projects in the nation. With no two rooms alike, you have 304 opportunities to be amazed. The Embassy team has eliminated the less desirable quirks of a historic hotel, and updated the elevators, HVAC units, plumbing, and much more.

The Embassy Suites Louisville Downtown blends rich history, modern conveniences, and memorable hospitality.

Good hotel in a good location if you're looking to be near plenty of restaurants and things to do in Louisville. Fourth Street Live is less than a block away. Rooms are well furnished and clean. Drinks and snacks during the nightly Evening Reception are always great. Service is as you'd expect from a hotel like this. Overall a great place to stay if you're coming to downtown Louisville.

Hotel is clean and nicely presented. Amenities feel a bit forced but overall very nice hotel. Located in the heart of downtown but during the week there is not a sole around. Very quiet.

The room was very clean and high quality. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was really the only good part. I have stayed at a number of Embassy Suites and love them for the room size, breakfast, and ease of parking. Unfortunately parking was a nightmare as they only had valet. It was no easy feat to park the car, so they could take my it. My room was small and the hotel felt rather compressed. I would not stay again at this Embassy

Beautifully designed lobby and the suite I have has marble floors with a really nice living room. Love the high ceilings in the rooms and the glass shower. Great hotel. There is CVS attached to it for all your quick needs including an extensive liquor, wine, and bourbon section. Across the street are many restaurants in walking distance.

They had a very nice space for breakfast that did not feel crowded. We have been in some that have felt more upscale like a club experience; this was more like a restaurant with a casual flair. They made eggs to order as well as omelets. We had a 2 room suite that was very roomy and comfortable. We were on the 6th floor and could still hear street noise (we have earplugs for similar emergencies}. There is a safe in the room for valuables. Highly recommend using it. Forgot to put something back in it and it was gone when we came back.

Overall I have had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The parking is Valet only, just be prepared for that. The room is one of the best Embassy Suites I’ve ever stayed at. The size of the room is bigger than the norm, including tall ceilings, which makes for an incredible feel in the room.
The entry and lobby area is gorgeous and luxurious, does not feel like a standard hotel. Couches and chairs are everywhere, allowing for plenty of room to sit and work or gather.
The breakfast and reception area is on the third floor, though there is also a bar on the first. The elevators require your room key for use, so you know you’ve got a bit more security.
The hotel is right off of 4th street live, so there is plenty to do and to see. Lots of restaurants on that block to choose from.
The hotel is also just a few blocks from the river (google says half mile), where there are museums, the ferry, the river, and some great touristy shops.
I ordered room service for dinner, and they were prompt and it was great. The only down side is that as directed, I left the tray outside of my door and as of 11 am, post housekeeping, it wasn’t picked up.
Again, all other aspects, great hotel stay.

What a beautiful hotel. Great location in downtown Louisville, close to great restaurants and places to see. Be sure to stop in at the bar and meet Billy, an awesome, fun bartender. He made this last bits of our evening fun. Great service and excellent drinks combined with humor and conversation.

The hotel is clean. The room was great. Our room had everything you could need. Microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, 2 big flat screens, great shower, comfortable bed. What we really enjoyed was the complimentary breakfast every morning. It was GOOD! We also loved the 2 hour complimentary happy hour...even on the weekend! The bar staff was great. And let's not forget that it IS right ON forth street which is where great restaurants and bars are at. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

The hotel itself is very nice. Unfortunately about a third of the people in my group had poorly functioning a/c. I had difficulty sleeping the first two nights due to my room being excessively hot at night. The thermostat is set to prevent guests from setting it below 68 degrees. If it actually worked properly, that might be okay, but even with the thermostat being set to 68 degrees the actual room temp never gets to 68 degrees. One of my colleagues said that his a/c ran continuously with the thermostat set to 68 but the actual room temp stayed at 75. My lack of sleep totally took away from the enjoyment and productivity of my trip because I was exhausted the whole time. On day three we learned that guests could request that their thermostat be unlocked. Obviously this whole set up doesn't work.

Definitely a bad stay.

Stayed here in Fall 2017. We only asked for a king bed, and we got a bed that was in a suite by itself, with a separate living space for TV/reading, etc. Don't know if we were just lucky or if this is normal. However, it worked great. Although the rooms were smaller, they were luxurious. BONUS: the "breakfast" includes made-to-order omelettes.

Room was not clean upon checking in. Bed linens had someones hair still on them. Had less than half a roll of one ply toilet paper, box of Kleenex with 2 tissues in it. The refrigerator never got cold, coffee maker didnt have needed supplies to brew a cup of coffee. Drapes at windows do not fully cover the windows, people on floor above have pretty good view into rooms below. Dust covered lamps, etc. Overpriced is my opinion. Would not stay here again

Wonderful happy hour, great decor and very spacious rooms. Was disappointed at first to see we didn't get an exterior view room, but the extra space and nice amenities made up for it. Breakfast is good, but recommend that you get up early to avoid the rush

If I could rate zero stars I most certainly would. This has always been my go to but as of today I am done. My last two stays have been horrendous to say the least. We were harassed from check in at 3pm till the time I voluntarily left at 8pm. All good things must come to an end; the Embassy is not exempt. My stay was during the Kid Rock concert so the hotel was extra busy including the overzealous security guard that had something to say including threatening to remove us from our room because of noise at 7:30pm. There were multiple parties throughout the hotel which is why I’m still confused as to what his issue was with our room. We were told no more that 5 guests in the pool at one time, which if there are 6 to a room makes it mathematically impossible! As far as family friendly; that deserves 0 stars for the fact that we were told moving chairs in the pool area was cause for ejection. Please keep in mind no chairs were moved, but we were told as a “warning”. Throughout the entire 4 hour stay Alexa at the front desk was the only breathe of fresh air. Even though I was charged $283 for my room but was given a receipt for $240 and the only explanation I was given was to “Call Accounting on Monday”. She knew that we were treated unfairly and tried everything to correct it but the damage was done and beyond repair at that point. Book at your own discretion!!!

Very nice hotel with all the amenities. Happy hour and breakfast, and everything is very clean. Short walking distance to all of the downtown Louisville nightlife. This will definitely be our choice for future stays in downtown Louisville.

I've stayed at a lot of hotels and the Embassy Suites in Downtown Louisville is definitely one of the nicest. The photos I've seen online really do not do it justice, the hotel is really quite impressive. The hotel is top notch with an elegant modern design. The rooms are cozy, spacious, and clean. The hotel has a free happy hour with light snacks everyday from 530-730 as well as a hot made to order breakfast. The indoor atrium is super neat and the pool is awesome. You have to stay here if you are visiting Louisville!

Great hotel. Very courteous staff. Connected to a CVS on the ground floor which is super convenient if you forgot anything at home. Breakfast is good and the hotel happy hour was a lot of fun!

I was continuously blown away by this hotel. I loved the modern style and large waterfall fountain when you walked in the lobby. The room was large and had a living room separated from the bedroom with a pull out sofa couch. The thing that made the stay extra special was the staff. The bartenders during the complimentary drink/snack hours were friendly and super attentive. I have never had such great service and we weren't even sitting at the bar. The breakfast tasted delicious and had so many options (build your own omlette, fresh fruit, eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt and more). To top it off it is the perfect location if you want to go to 4th street live. One tip is to park in the garage next door (cost $10 a night instead of $27).

While I enjoy free food as much as anyone, the managers special has declined in quality over the years. You used to be able to depend on the food at the cocktail hour to replace dinner, but the cheese and crackers and salsa at this spread doesn't quite cut it. The staff were all very friendly and the room was very nice. Very high ceilings made the room seem huge.

This place is amazing. The rooms are large and well appointed in a nice and modern style, the lobby is very chic, the free breakfast is bar none one of the best available. The list goes on and on, and to top it all of the rates are extremely reasonable. Do yourself a favor, pay slightly more than a motel 6 and really enjoy your stay.
