Our historic location dates back to April 15, 1907. Old Stewarts Merchandise Shop was the focal point of downtown shopping in Louisville at that time, now on the National Register of Historic Places. The building remains one of the most beautiful preservations in Louisville. You can still see the crown molding, Old Stewarts tile decals, original sky lights, and dramatic pillars. Just across the street you had people such as Al Capone and Gatsby stopping by for the night, what a cool time!

Our team worked closely with the National Trust for Historic Preservation to maintain the original integrity of the building. The Embassy team is finalizing what we believe to be one of the most unique and astonishing hotel projects in the nation. With no two rooms alike, you have 304 opportunities to be amazed. The Embassy team has eliminated the less desirable quirks of a historic hotel, and updated the elevators, HVAC units, plumbing, and much more.

The Embassy Suites Louisville Downtown blends rich history, modern conveniences, and memorable hospitality.

Good hotel in a good location if you're looking to be near plenty of restaurants and things to do in Louisville. Fourth Street Live is less than a block away. Rooms are well furnished and clean. Drinks and snacks during the nightly Evening Reception are always great. Service is as you'd expect from a hotel like this. Overall a great place to stay if you're coming to downtown Louisville.

Beautifully designed lobby and the suite I have has marble floors with a really nice living room. Love the high ceilings in the rooms and the glass shower. Great hotel. There is CVS attached to it for all your quick needs including an extensive liquor, wine, and bourbon section. Across the street are many restaurants in walking distance.

Hotel is clean and nicely presented. Amenities feel a bit forced but overall very nice hotel. Located in the heart of downtown but during the week there is not a sole around. Very quiet.

The room was very clean and high quality. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Overall I have had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The parking is Valet only, just be prepared for that. The room is one of the best Embassy Suites I’ve ever stayed at. The size of the room is bigger than the norm, including tall ceilings, which makes for an incredible feel in the room.
The entry and lobby area is gorgeous and luxurious, does not feel like a standard hotel. Couches and chairs are everywhere, allowing for plenty of room to sit and work or gather.
The breakfast and reception area is on the third floor, though there is also a bar on the first. The elevators require your room key for use, so you know you’ve got a bit more security.
The hotel is right off of 4th street live, so there is plenty to do and to see. Lots of restaurants on that block to choose from.
The hotel is also just a few blocks from the river (google says half mile), where there are museums, the ferry, the river, and some great touristy shops.
I ordered room service for dinner, and they were prompt and it was great. The only down side is that as directed, I left the tray outside of my door and as of 11 am, post housekeeping, it wasn’t picked up.
Again, all other aspects, great hotel stay.

They had a very nice space for breakfast that did not feel crowded. We have been in some that have felt more upscale like a club experience; this was more like a restaurant with a casual flair. They made eggs to order as well as omelets. We had a 2 room suite that was very roomy and comfortable. We were on the 6th floor and could still hear street noise (we have earplugs for similar emergencies}. There is a safe in the room for valuables. Highly recommend using it. Forgot to put something back in it and it was gone when we came back.

Breakfast was really the only good part. I have stayed at a number of Embassy Suites and love them for the room size, breakfast, and ease of parking. Unfortunately parking was a nightmare as they only had valet. It was no easy feat to park the car, so they could take my it. My room was small and the hotel felt rather compressed. I would not stay again at this Embassy

The hotel itself is very nice. Unfortunately about a third of the people in my group had poorly functioning a/c. I had difficulty sleeping the first two nights due to my room being excessively hot at night. The thermostat is set to prevent guests from setting it below 68 degrees. If it actually worked properly, that might be okay, but even with the thermostat being set to 68 degrees the actual room temp never gets to 68 degrees. One of my colleagues said that his a/c ran continuously with the thermostat set to 68 but the actual room temp stayed at 75. My lack of sleep totally took away from the enjoyment and productivity of my trip because I was exhausted the whole time. On day three we learned that guests could request that their thermostat be unlocked. Obviously this whole set up doesn't work.

Definitely a bad stay.

What a beautiful hotel. Great location in downtown Louisville, close to great restaurants and places to see. Be sure to stop in at the bar and meet Billy, an awesome, fun bartender. He made this last bits of our evening fun. Great service and excellent drinks combined with humor and conversation.

Room was not clean upon checking in. Bed linens had someones hair still on them. Had less than half a roll of one ply toilet paper, box of Kleenex with 2 tissues in it. The refrigerator never got cold, coffee maker didnt have needed supplies to brew a cup of coffee. Drapes at windows do not fully cover the windows, people on floor above have pretty good view into rooms below. Dust covered lamps, etc. Overpriced is my opinion. Would not stay here again

Wonderful happy hour, great decor and very spacious rooms. Was disappointed at first to see we didn't get an exterior view room, but the extra space and nice amenities made up for it. Breakfast is good, but recommend that you get up early to avoid the rush

The hotel is clean. The room was great. Our room had everything you could need. Microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, 2 big flat screens, great shower, comfortable bed. What we really enjoyed was the complimentary breakfast every morning. It was GOOD! We also loved the 2 hour complimentary happy hour...even on the weekend! The bar staff was great. And let's not forget that it IS right ON forth street which is where great restaurants and bars are at. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Stayed here in Fall 2017. We only asked for a king bed, and we got a bed that was in a suite by itself, with a separate living space for TV/reading, etc. Don't know if we were just lucky or if this is normal. However, it worked great. Although the rooms were smaller, they were luxurious. BONUS: the "breakfast" includes made-to-order omelettes.

I was continuously blown away by this hotel. I loved the modern style and large waterfall fountain when you walked in the lobby. The room was large and had a living room separated from the bedroom with a pull out sofa couch. The thing that made the stay extra special was the staff. The bartenders during the complimentary drink/snack hours were friendly and super attentive. I have never had such great service and we weren't even sitting at the bar. The breakfast tasted delicious and had so many options (build your own omlette, fresh fruit, eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt and more). To top it off it is the perfect location if you want to go to 4th street live. One tip is to park in the garage next door (cost $10 a night instead of $27).

If I could rate zero stars I most certainly would. This has always been my go to but as of today I am done. My last two stays have been horrendous to say the least. We were harassed from check in at 3pm till the time I voluntarily left at 8pm. All good things must come to an end; the Embassy is not exempt. My stay was during the Kid Rock concert so the hotel was extra busy including the overzealous security guard that had something to say including threatening to remove us from our room because of noise at 7:30pm. There were multiple parties throughout the hotel which is why I’m still confused as to what his issue was with our room. We were told no more that 5 guests in the pool at one time, which if there are 6 to a room makes it mathematically impossible! As far as family friendly; that deserves 0 stars for the fact that we were told moving chairs in the pool area was cause for ejection. Please keep in mind no chairs were moved, but we were told as a “warning”. Throughout the entire 4 hour stay Alexa at the front desk was the only breathe of fresh air. Even though I was charged $283 for my room but was given a receipt for $240 and the only explanation I was given was to “Call Accounting on Monday”. She knew that we were treated unfairly and tried everything to correct it but the damage was done and beyond repair at that point. Book at your own discretion!!!

While I enjoy free food as much as anyone, the managers special has declined in quality over the years. You used to be able to depend on the food at the cocktail hour to replace dinner, but the cheese and crackers and salsa at this spread doesn't quite cut it. The staff were all very friendly and the room was very nice. Very high ceilings made the room seem huge.

This place is amazing. The rooms are large and well appointed in a nice and modern style, the lobby is very chic, the free breakfast is bar none one of the best available. The list goes on and on, and to top it all of the rates are extremely reasonable. Do yourself a favor, pay slightly more than a motel 6 and really enjoy your stay.

I've stayed at a lot of hotels and the Embassy Suites in Downtown Louisville is definitely one of the nicest. The photos I've seen online really do not do it justice, the hotel is really quite impressive. The hotel is top notch with an elegant modern design. The rooms are cozy, spacious, and clean. The hotel has a free happy hour with light snacks everyday from 530-730 as well as a hot made to order breakfast. The indoor atrium is super neat and the pool is awesome. You have to stay here if you are visiting Louisville!

Booked room a month in advance, when we arrived we were told room wasn't ready. It was already and hour past check in time. After being told we would have to wait 30 minutes for room to be cleaned, we get room key and find dirty dishes outside room. We called for extra towels and blankets, pillows,as we had six in our suite for a bachelorette party. We received 2 blankets and wash clothes. Housekeeper was asked then for more towels and pillows and we were told they were out of pillows.. They did manage to find pillows eventually. I again asked front desk to have dishes removed from hallway by our door. After asking staff 3 times to remove them I gave up. Dishes were still sitting by out core at 11 am check out. For the price I paid for this room you I expected better customer service when calling and asking for services.

If you are expecting a traditional Embassy Suites experience, this isn't the place. If you are looking for a typical hotel, this might be up your alley. My husband and I have chosen this brand many times over the years and were sadly disappointed with our choice at this location. We arrived for check-in at 5 pm. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready. After waiting at least an hour, we were invited to partake in the managers reception, which was great. We were advised that we'd receive a phone call when the room was ready, and our belongings were secured. At approximately 7:30, we went downstairs to check on the room, but it still wasn't ready. However, we were upgraded to a "premium suite". I think that their definition of premium differs greatly from mine. We were in the smallest "suite" we've ever encountered. For years, Embassy Suites has been known for their rooms with a separate living area. This room consisted of a bed with a distinctive dip, a carpet with scary brown stains and a couch that was too close for comfort.
The only parking option is valet parking, which would have been ok if we didn't have to wait for a hour for someone to take our vehicle and 30 minutes to retrieve it.
On a positive note, the managers reception was on point. Evonda is awesome!!! Also, the breakfast was great. We will likely continue to stay at other Embassy Suite hotels but will be much more cautious in our selection.

I’d give this hotel negative stars. I never stayed there and yet they charged me more than my room was even supposed to cost. I have a confirmation number for my cancellation. It’s been a complete nightmare. Sad part is I really wanted to stay at this hotel down the road. I will NEVER EVER do business with Embassy Suites again. They clearly don’t get good or great guest service. I want my money back and two weeks later I’m still fighting for my refund!

I do like this hotel more than other ones is this town and it would've gotten 4 or possibly 5 stars if it hadn't been for a couple things. I do like the free drinks and snacks you can get at night, the only problem I had with that, is that the meat tray had string still in the meat. Didn't notice it till after eating some. The waitress apologized and said that the person who cut it up, had forgotten to remove the wrapping. She removed the meat tray from the serving area. There wasn't a clock in my room and the TV is in a bad location, if it would've swiveled or pulled out from the wall it would have been better. The breakfast is great. All the employees seemed friendly and helpful. The bathroom in my suite wasn't the cleanest I had ever seen. The grout lines at the bottom of the shower walls need to be cleaned better. They need to have a hot tub put in by the pool area also. I do like that the elevator takes you right to the pool so you don't have to walk through the hotel. Couldn't get any of the games to work in the game room. They do provide a military discount.

Worst experience of my life. Was quoted a price 30 higher then anything online. Finally got the price in the range of what was being quoted online. Keep in mind I have yet to stay here my reservation is not until this Monday. Filed a Complaint. Two days later I get a canned email saying I was spoken to and my issues resolved. No incorrect no one spoke to me. Call the Corp number was hung-up on then called back only to be screamed at. Call the general manager at this hotel he tells there was another email explaining all things and he would send after we hung-up still waiting Dan. Called corporate back this woman offers a stay on me voucher and tells I will get in 5/7 business days. Never received it call Corp today that email that Dan sent to corporate but not me they turned around and voided the next day but did not bother to contact me. Great experience so far no one things they need to call me, thinks it's ok to hand up on me, yell at me and that's just fine please come to my Hotel and give me your money while we treat you like garbage. Don't stay at Hiltons they have zero respect for you the customer

Real nice place nice ppl everyone I meet spoke to you. Very beautiful building love the happy hour and the breakfast service in the morning. Confusing on the valet parking guy had me go get my own car for the parking area and I paid to have the service then I had to wait at least 20 minutes just to get in my room because I was waiting on valet to come park my car. Other then that the hotel was great. Will go again but will try a different way of parking.

The worst. Was given several opportunities to get it right but didn’t.......too many times. Cold food. Rooms not ready. Not enough towels. Left dirty glasses but no clean glasses. Didn’t fill the coffee station and a piece was missing from the pot. Took 40 minutes to get our car out of the valet. Called twice asking for clean glasses, never got them. Update: I’ve now called four times for glasses. Still don’t have them. Unreal for the price we paid.

When we arrived the front desk attendant switched our room because she felt the room we had been put in would be too small for our family of 5. Wow! She put us in a huge room! We are very grateful for her thinking of us! The breakfast room & choice of foods was amazing! A beautiful hotel!

Worst experience ever!!!! I would not stay here. We had a confirmed reservation, drove over 11 hours (with 3 kids!) and got in at 9 pm only to be informed that they had a "computer problem" and we had no room. Then they lied about saying they tried to call us, and when we showed them our call log on our phone they started stammering and then said it was a water damage problem. They said they tried calling several other hotels in downtown but they were all booked. They ended up finding us a room at a nasty hotel that was on the bed bud registry which we declined. Thus, we had to pack up the kids and drive another 5.5 hours to our destination. Also note, there was no manager on staff that night to tell customers they had no room! Valet service was a joke, took almost an hour to get our car back. When I called and complained to the hotel the next day, they offered me like 10,000 Hilton points (not even a free night stay). I had to complain to Hilton corporate which forced the hotel to agree to send me some free nights. I spoke with the manager, and he stated those would be sent to me ASAP - did I ever get them - NO. Clearly a bad managed place.

Horrible Stay. They were extremely understaffed.
give at least an hour for "free" breakfast, because you will be standing in line half of the time.
Don't valet your car here. If you call down in advance to have your car ready, they won't get it until you are standing in front of them. Cheap public parking 1 block away ($5 as apposed to $27 per night they charge).
Housekeeping does iffy work, completely forget my room the one day

The hotel is very beautiful. Every part we encountered was exceptionally clean. So close to everything we needed or wanted to do. 4th street live is a nice place to venture into. We were in town for an archery tournament for my son. Very close to Kentucky exposition center. It had a nice pool but if it were heated it would be much nicer. No Jacuzzi which is a lil sad considering how fancy the place seems. Water pressure in room 653 wasn't so great for a shower. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Valet parking was absolutely ridiculous to get in and out of. Not to mention the 27 dollar fee it costs is a bit outrageous. It was a decent stay but I doubt I ever go back.
