What’s your interior design process?
The Interior Design Process is a series of steps. The details of each stage will differ depending on the type of design but the approach will always be similar.
INITIAL DESIGN CONCEPT/STYLE Design consultation meeting to determinate A1) scope of the project B2) goals C3) budget involved, Exchange of drawings with all professionals involved, Design scheme / mood boards.
SPACE PLANNING Analysis of the space. Draws up a plan that defines the zones of the space and the activities that will take place. The plan is finished by adding details of all the furniture, equipment and hardware placement. The space plan will also define the circulation patterns that show how people will move through the space.
BESPOKE FURNITURE DESIGN Complete design of a bespoke piece of furniture if requested
ROOM DESIGN Draw up layout elevations, sections and details, FF&E (furniture, Fixture and equipment) specification;
SHOPPING ASSISTANT
3D DESIGN a three-dimensional model of the space
VISUALS – CGI (computer generated imagery)manipulate the environment and the 3D design to produce photo realistic images
PROJECT SPECIFICATION FOR CONTRACTORS Once the final drawings are approved, detailed specifications for the works to be undertaken by craftsmen and contractors are prepared. This covers carpenters, plumbers, decorators and the like. The costings schedule is finalize by detailing each specified item and includes the furniture, fittings and soft furnishings.
PROJECT CO-ORDINATION style /management - Overseeing the installation. Supervise the installation and liaise with the construction team where appropriate. Competitive costings & negotiated trade discounts are provided and should the client require we can source suppliers, organize the work/installation, hold regular site meetings with the contractors, supervise the process and identify possible issue during the build/installation process.
INSTALLATION and ACCESSORIES. This styling service is what elevates your space to a magazine quality status. It involves adding finishing touches selected from a range of retailers and suppliers choose various accessories for the space.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
My aim is to help my client create a space that is unique for them; one that stands the test of time and truly reflects the personality of the owner. I love utilizing antiques alongside modern furniture sourced from independent suppliers, artisan and carefully selected range from high street to genuine small shops with treasures.
What do you love most about your job?
Every steps and details. I am really passionate about it. Everything that surround us create a perception (The way in which something is regarded). Light, Color, shapes, materials and textures are like musical notes for me. I love to create the right symphony /perception that suit my client’s needs and purposes. Too Often we don't realize how much and deep we are affect by the spaces in which we are. Our feelings and sensations are influenced by the environment in which we live. I like to recreate or redesign it to allow my client to be in control.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am in Italian architect who relocated six years ago to the UK. I was a partner in a business in Milan working across multiple sectors and also have a specialist skill in yacht designing. it does mean that I have expertise in micro detail and space economy. In the past I have worked with various interior design companies as a contractor on such diverse projects as high level residential properties together with the demands of successful commercial enterprises. These include a beauty spa, a game reserve in South Africa and a host of luxurious private residences. One of my talent is the ability to deal with every type of budgets, even low once, and always deliver a high satisfying result.
