Motherhood can be challenging at times, you want to achieve a lot yet you do not have much time. I was able to enjoy my baby’s photoshoot with the talented Elena. My baby was born 2 months ahead and so she spent some time in the NICU, I was robbed of time and of having an actual newborn photoshoot.Elena walked me through the process of booking and choosing which session I wanted, I was never pushed to make a booking or to go with a bigger package. She was cordial, patient and understanding. When my baby was finally released from the hospital and able to be around other people, Elena booked me in on a day that worked for us. A week before the appointment she encouraged me to find poses that I wanted her to try with my baby (I wanted the baby on top of my wedding dress but on the day of the photoshoot I realized that it was sealed). She also coached me on what to do and what to bring on the day of the photoshoot. When the day came, we were greeted in her beautiful studio, she had brought snacks for my husband and I (I was so thankful as I was nervous and hadn’t eaten anything). She encourages us to feed Ariana and make her as comfortable as possible. Elena took her, dressed her (she asked for Ariana’s approximate weight to ensure she had the change of clothes for her). I wanted to be involved in the photoshoot but then I realized that Elena had everything under control and that I was making my baby fussy so I decided to step away from the set and let Elena do her magic, while I sipped on my coffee and snacked Elena was hard at work taking pictures, changing and calming Ariana. It was such a relaxed and chill ambiance, she had some heat, low light and ocean sound to relax Ariana. My baby did not help, she was awake and did not stay still.I highly recommend Elena Helali (Ottawa Newborn Photographer), she’s professional, she’s creative, she’s an artist. We love the photos that were captured by Elena. We did a 2 week photoshoot back in April and we dont regret the experience. Elena conducted the photoshoot in her home out of Manotick where she has a mini set. She offered us coffee and was very kind, professional and patient with my daughter who took a looong time to fall asleep (over an hour lol). All in all I'm thankful to have the photos, i look atvthem frequently because i cant believe how quickly she's growing! More...

I am super happy with the way the photos turned out for our 5 week old son. I really like Elena's style of photography because it highlights the features of each individual baby without too many unnecessary/distracting props and backgrounds. For our photos she used a mix of studio and natural light and both turned out great. She was great with my son from the moment we walked in the door. The environment is so calm and relaxing that I don't think he even woke up once for the first 2 hours! I would definitely recommend Elena to anyone considering doing newborn photos. More...
