Elemental Fitness is a Leeds personal training service offering a combination of personal training packages and one to one kickboxing Leeds.

We have been running since 2008 and helped many individuals feel better by improving fitness and strength, helping them to lose weight, gain muscle mass, build their self confidence and teach them kickboxing.

I’ve been a PT client at Elemental Kickboxing for about a year. Having never done anything like this before I was a little apprehensive. My main goal was to enhance general fitness and learn a new skill. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it so much! But, the sessions with James have been a challenge and increasingly rewarding. I love this place! Elemental is a great place to go, whether you're old and out of shape, or young and want to get in better shape. Blaine is a great trainer, he's helped me work out my old injuries, and is getting me stronger and more fit with every work out.This isn't a crowded place with knucklehead gym rats, it's never too crowded and a great place to train. After a 2+ year hiatus from regular workouts, I needed a safe way to ease back into fitness and avoid injury. I've been going to Elemental Fitness for the past year and a half after a colleague recommended them. It's honestly been the best decision I've made for my health in a long time. The small group training sessions are great as they provide ongoing support, learning and motivation. I have joined several other gyms in the past and I just didn't feel comfortable there and didn't use my membership. This is the first gym I actually enjoy going to. They really understand how to safely work on body mechanics and strength training. I'm stronger than I've ever been and I'm confident in doing strength training for the first time in my life. For anyone looking for a gym where they won't feel intimidated, and where they can get personalized training programs with ongoing support, I'd highly recommend Elemental Fitness. More...

I was really apprehensive before my first session, worried it would be an intimidating environment or that I would fail miserably. I shouldn't have worried, both David and James make you feel really at ease. The sessions are great fun and very varied. I've been looking for quite sometime for a fun, competent group to help me with the sticky points of my body mechanics. I've spent a number of years with numerous styles of training/exercise and can't say enough about how great EFL and Chris are at helping you address movement patterns causing injuries and discomfort in the body. I am an orthopedic sports-med focused acupuncturist in Portland and wanted a group just like this one to send patients to for proper prehab and rehab. I send my patients there will confidence. I love anything to do with getting outside on a mountain bike, a surf board, a rock wall, a pair of skis, a trail and in the mountains. But I struggled with low back pain for years. I've been working out with Chris for 18 months. He helped me target my weak areas, helped me build consciousness into my physical activities and in my daily life behind a desk. My stepson and I have been members since August 2016 and thoroughly enjoying the Kickboxing ‎classes. The instructors are friendly, patient and make you feel at ease whilst motivating you and ‎pushing you. The club members are equally friendly and full of encouragement offering ‎constructive advice; there is a good rapport at the club. The classes are varied and each instructor ‎offers their own unique style and I learn something new every class from each instructor. My ‎fitness levels feel better now at 38 than they did at times in my 20s. I’ve also had 1 to 1 private ‎training with James at the club which has helped me focus on areas and work towards improving ‎my technique which really increased my confidence level. ‎If you’ve even fancied giving martial arts a try, but like me was too nervous to take the step, I ‎recommend you stop hesitating and give Elemental Fitness a go - wish I’d done it years ago.‎To note - please disregard the 2 star review at the bottom of this page, it is not a review of Elemental Fitness but to an entirely different firm. Been going to the freestyle kickboxing club for two years now and did one on one training for a year. Best workout I've ever had! Well . What can I say !!! I hate these guys lol they make every muscle in my body ache. They make me sweat. They make my lungs kill. At the end of each training session I've become a potty mouth. But most of all they gave me my life back. After a serious back injury. 2 years of pain. Pins in my back. Been told I'd never stand straight again. Depression sets in. I started training with David and James. ( I think there gods . But don't tell them. Don't want any big heads) I've been training 7 months. Guess what I now stand straight. I've gained muscle . Came in recovering from back injury, barely able to bend over. I met with Chris and told him and I never wanted to have a hurt back again. At first it was simple, just learning to move again. Chris was patient, just pushing me enough but never to much. Week after week passed, I kept getting  stronger and more confident.  8 months later I'm a completely different man, using weights and performing exercises I never would of imagined after my injury. I highly recommend Chris to anyone who has a physical goal they want to achieve and don't want a boot camp, drill sergeant to achieve it. Cheers More...

Sharelle is a good person who only wants the best results for you and your body. She is super cautious of any prior injuries, or pre existing medical conditions you may have, and ensures the workouts are suitable for that. I started going to elemental about a year ago after a recommendation from my chiropractor due to an old back injury that needed core strengthening to avoid continued pain. I got pregnant shortly thereafter and the trainers helped keep me fit and mostly pain free throughout my whole pregnancy. I just went back 6 weeks postpartum and Chris asked if I had any lower back pain during labor or afterwards. I realized that I hadn't thought about my back injury in months! It didn't give me any trouble, not even during labor or postpartum! I really credit Elemental for preparing me for a relatively easy labor and recovery period. I am excited to have them continue to help me recover and equip myself to care for all the lifting that comes with caring for a baby. Throughout all my visits here I felt safely guided by experts who really know how to train people of all types - young, old, really fit, recovering from long time injuries, pregnancy and postpartum. Learn how to move correctly, with or without weights. Highly educated trainers ensure that everyone is safe. Sometimes you'll be closely supervised by a trainer, other times doing your own program (which they've designed based on your goals and your movement capacity). Quality equipment. The community here is friendly without being overbearing. You'll get to know the people who tend to work out at the same times of the week as you... but there's no "drink the kool-aid" over-enthusiasm like you may find at some martial arts places. People here are pretty loyal to this particular gym, but since you're already here you obviously are in on the secret so we don't really need to go on and on about it. The owner is a music guy, so you'll hear a wide range of good tunes in many genres. But not the blaring heavy metal that so many gyms use. More...

If you want to start exercising, but are not sure where to begin. Or if you are wanting a little more guidance or if you simply want to take your current training to another level, Elemental Fitness Lab can help you. This is not your traditional gym by any stretch. You will not be cranking out endless repetitions on machines, standing on one foot while struggling to do some bizarre movement or being pushed to the point of gasping for air. What you will do is learn how to move your body correctly, effectively, efficiently and safely. And in turn you will become stronger, fitter and more confident. If you cannot move your own body correctly, you certainly have no right to pile a bunch weight lifting on top of that. The trainers at EFL know this and are exceptional at teaching you how to move and will absolutely tailor your workout to you. There are no canned routines here. What I love most about their approach is that they turn your workout into play. You will crawl and roll on the ground, hang from bars, walk with a bean bag on your head, skip, swing clubs and kettle bells. And you workout bare foot or in socks. I love it!! This is NOT your meathead gym nor your stuffy gym. EFL is a down to earth, realistic and practical approach to fitness and health. You cannot go wrong here. Gabe Rodriguez is who I have been working with and I cannot recommend him any more highly. He is an excellent teacher and motivator and he is very knowledgable. I have been training with David for a while now as I finally got to a stage when I could no longer ignore the expanding waistline and the slightly out of breath feeling when climbing stairs. This isn’t a “one size fits all” exercise regime. David talks to you, listens to your aims and goals as well as what you do and don’t enjoy and tailors the sessions to suit the individual. There is an emphasis on kick boxing moves but this shouldn’t put anyone off as you don’t need to be a martial arts expert (trust me I am proof of that!) to enjoy these and to gain real benefits from them. I come away from each session absolutely exhausted with no energy left, but with a real sense of achievement and I think that’s what you want from exercise isn’t it? The sessions are always fun but challenging too and David records what is being done so that improvement can be tracked and measured. Whilst this is mostly a good thing it can be frustrating when trying to beat your last best time! I can honestly say that getting in touch with David is one of the best things I have ever done. It is money well spent and my only regret is not doing it sooner. More...

I started training with Dave when my sister who had been going for over a year asked me to go along to her lesson. At that point despite trying my usual home workouts nothing was shifting the baby bulge! I went along and haven’t stopped since! With children at home it is so difficult to find the time and motivation to exercise effectively and the gym is just so demotivating especially if you aren’t sure what you are doing. I find lessons with Dave motivating and fun. I love the fact that every lesson is different and the results speak for themselves. David trains my eldest son who has Down syndrome. With both me and his dad working full time and also having 2 other children we struggled to have any spare time to take him to the gym which he really enjoyed. After searching for a local personal trainer I came across elemental fitness. To my delight David not only seemed interested in what we wanted from Daniels sessions he also had previous experience with training people with special needs. Dan has been training with David now for nearly 2 years, he attends twice a week to the studio and really enjoys it! He has gained confidence in himself, also kickboxing techniques and weight loss. My husband and I wanted to get our children interested in a hobby they would enjoy whilst keeping fit and healthy at the same time. Kickboxing has ticked all those boxes plus many more. My son and daughter train together with David once a week and they absolutely love it. My son lacked confidence before starting the kickboxing sessions but the sessions he has with David have really helped him. After being told I had high blood pressure at Christmas 2011, I decided to contact David Kenyon at Elemental fitness who I had heard of through a friend. My diary through work is tight and I have the added bonus of 2 Children to help bath and bed on a night and entertain on a weekend. Through discussion with David I found a spare hour to train on a Thursday morning once a week. I explained my goals of losing weight/lowering my blood pressure and started kick boxing training the same week. The one to one training is mixed up each week and the results are almost instant with a great feeling of achievement after each session. After a two year break from training I was keen to find a trainer who could give me the right balance of motivation and ‘beasting’ to get myself back into shape and regain my previous technical ability. David has been great, by focussing on my goals, his programme has the right balance of cardio workout and kickboxing training all set within a fully equipped gym. As my technique has improved the workouts have evolved to keep them interesting and challenging. Personally I prefer personal training to joining daunting classes; particularly for martial arts which can be a very masculine and testosterone filled environment. David is always welcoming and reassuring and I can even bring my own tunes to train to! More...

After attending a series of group sessions on self-defence, three of us approached David to set up bespoke, on-going sessions. David provides ongoing support and is enthusiastic. He gives us a work-out, but is respectful and adapts his approach to suit our individual abilities. The sessions are varied and David engages with what we need. As an example he developed a combined weight-loss/weight-gain, fitness and self-defence programme. David is professional and knowledgeable and combines this with a client-centred approach and shared responsibility. I have been training with David for almost a year now; I came to David wanting to improve my core fitness to go along side me going to elemental kickboxing. David’s sessions are always challenging which that is what you need to reach your goals. David is always making sure I’m happy with the workouts he sets and making sure I am happy with what I am getting out of our sessions. There is always change in the sessions with david as when my grading are coming up for kickboxing we incorporate some techniques to work on, on a one to one basis. I started my personal training with Elemental three months ago as a way of getting myself back into some semblance of fitness after too many years of relative inactivity. The sessions have been fantastic. Dave knows just how far to push me to keep me at the optimum limit and he’s kept it all interesting and varied. The kickboxing, which is new to me, has become a really enjoyable way of working out and I feel more confident around the punch bag every week. The lessons take place in our private gym in Bramley, Leeds, helping you feel comfortable and relaxed during your sessions. At this venue we have all the equipment you need to develop your skills and reach your targets. All of the personal training sessions are tailored to your specific needs and goals. Every lesson is different to keep you motivated and excited about attending your next session.

Each lesson pushes you to maximise your potential outcome, whether this be to improve fitness, build muscle, lose weight, gain weight or body toning. The intensity of lessons gradually increases as the weeks go by, leaving you feeling great after each session.

An induction lesson can be arranged at a discount rate of only £20.00. At the induction you can expect to see the facilities, discuss your aims and targets with the personal trainer Leeds, and have an induction into kickboxing if applicable.
