Efficient painter

I do not recommend this painter. He quoted me £500. I asked him to strip wallpaper from one wall, patch up a few small holes that had been made by picture hooks, and paint 2 medium sized rooms. I have never experienced such a shoddy terrible finish. He came at 10.30am and left at 5pm. I asked him to leave the masking tape on when he had finished since I did not want to disturb the drying paint. Next day I took the tape off and it was awful. Some parts were painted, some parts weren't, some were on the skirting board etc. It wasn't just a couple of bits but it was everywhere that had been painted. Skirting boards, ceilings, even around electric sockets - all precision lines were ruined. The holes were patched up terribly and left blotches on the wall. I could have done a better job. I called him to ask if he would come back and make good. He basically didn't want to and gave me lots of excuses and blamed me for not letting him take off the masking tape before he left. I made the point that my experience of professional painters was when you took off the mask it was perfect. I have had to get someone to fix his mess and actually I am glad he ignored my request because I would not trust him to do a good job. More...
