Efendy is a Turkish & Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Halifax. The restaurant is cozy and charming and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. It is family run with Mom and Pop working the kitchen while the grown children wait tables. It has a welcoming and unpretentious feel which is so refreshing. Great, quiet Turkish cuisine downtown! We've been to Efendy a couple of times and it's been great every time. If you haven't had Turkish food before this is a great place to start, and if you're familiar the menu has a lot of good options

Really testy food, super friendly staff, the prices are reasonable but the portion may need to be increased. The washroom are somehow small but it is not a big deal.

Visited them this afternoon for lunch with my family and I can honestly say I have never enjoyed such Turkish food before. So fresh and the meat so perfectly seasoned. Their bread was soft and fluffy and had a slight glaze of butter which was not overpowering. Our server was very attentive and not once did we have to ask her to refill out glasses of water. We ordered 4 plates of the lunch special (2 chicken kebab and 2 shish kebab) and they were all perfect plates of meat, pillaf rice, salad and pita. On my maiden trip to Halifax I decided to give this place a shot. My first impression was that it is a small cute place. I would love to come on a date here.But I came alone this time.The staff was amazing and were considerate of my vegetarian needs. I was skeptical earlier and assumed it to be an expensive place. I ordered a platter and believe me I could eat it there for dinner, packed the rest for brunch and even had some left for a small evening snack next day.
