When Google informed us they were going to penalize us for not being mobile friendly we began a yearlong quest to figure out how to do it right and meet our high visual customer standard. We have been optimized very well since 2004 and wanted to make sure we kept our SEO. We were also very concerned with the design aspects since we were not familiar with responsive design. My partner is the tech part of the equation and she had some very strong ideas on what she wanted. While doing research on responsive design we came across an article written by Graham Miller about this subject.His approach was compelling and we looked into his company. From the start, we could tell they understood responsive design and the thinking behind it. We had to take many leaps of faith during the process because we just did not possess enough knowledge. Edward Robertson team worked with us cheerfully the entire time. Trying to get us what we wanted yet also pushing for things they felt were important. It was a strong give and take and a great collaboration. When a company is willing to stand their ground, it allows you to trust when they agree.When you are working in unfamiliar territory it is important to feel your guide is watching out for you not just telling you what you want to hear. My partner wanted things they did not initially provide but they were willing to work with us. Our site is a HUGE and Visually demanding.
