Q&As

The design process starts after initial contact is made and agreement of a design estimate. Once I have confirmation of this, I will book your project in and we’ll discuss the brief in more depth. We can do this through a conversation where I find out more about your company and what exactly is required.

IDEAS
Every project starts with a brief where I find out what the creative requirements of the project are and the end deliverables. For new branding projects, I may ask you to complete a branding questionnaire – the more I know about your requirements upfront, the smoother the process will be. Once I have a brief outline of your project, research and brainstorming ideas can begin.

DESIGNS
Depending on the deliverables of the project, the visual and initial design stage can take anything from a day to a week. Design solutions are then presented to the client via email or in person with a rationale to review and feedback on.

DEVELOP
The development stage is a where the client and myself work together to achieve a satisfactory outcome. In some cases, it’s a process of elimination where I work on one particular design route, develop it and take it to the next stage. The amount of design revisions can vary until the client is happy with the outcome and the design is approved by the client.

DELIVERY
Once the project has been approved by the client, it then has to be prepared for artwork. This is where is it checked before it can be despatched. For example, if it’s a logo design project, then a digital logo set will need to be created for the various digital and print formats a client may need them for. If it’s a brochure or leaflet design, then it will need preparing for print so that the best print quality can be achieved and no errors occur during the print process. Once this is done, I will send the various digital files via email, Dropbox or We Transfer. When the deliverables are with the client or supplier, then the project is invoiced.
