Fantastic food and catering for our rehearsal dinner on September 2nd 2016 for the Hodges family

I can't tell you how many people said that the food that Eat Your Heart Out served at my wedding was the best they had ever had at any wedding ever.  It was to die for.  I can't even believe that Chloe was able to create that gorgeous, delicious meal within my budget.  No one else was even close to being able to deliver that within my budget.  I was about to give in and accept a mediocre catering company and throw in the towel so to speak and then Chloe's quote and menu ideas came through like a shining light!  All I asked for was a Pacific Northwest menu and had one cocktail idea and what she came up with was beyond what I could even envision.  I didn't even make any changes even though she would have worked with me and customized further if I had asked.  I swear my wedding meal looked and tasted like I paid double the price for the fanciest, most expensive caterers in Portland.  My planner said at one point she did have a hard time getting responses but we got everything we needed in time and the event pulled off without a hitch.  I'd recommend Chloe anyday!  -Molly and Sam, 5/28/16, Camp Namanu More...

Excellent food. Creative menus. Flexible is menu design. They were very accommodating of our requests for dietary needs as well as display ideas. The coordinator can be difficult to reach (not immediately responsive by email, better by text) but rest assured, they will deliver superb food and excellent service. I was very pleased with our service staff day of and would highly recommend this company!! Thanks!! More...

Chole and her team are exceptional. We asked for a pecso-vegan, DF, GF, low sugar menu and they are able to pull off delicious meals within these parameters every single time. Soups, salads, appetizers, main courses and dessert. This is a really talented team. Nice people too! More...

Our guests loved the food that Eat Your Heart Out catered for our wedding. We received many, many compliments and numerous people said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. We chose Eat Your Heart Out for our wedding because the food was by far the best of those that we tasted among a half dozen Portland/Hood River caterers. Also, the types of dishes that they provide were exactly what  we were hoping for - fresh, local ingredients and a vegetable and fruit heavy menu. We had a green bean berry salad, a farro arugula salad, grilled chicken and stuffed red peppers, among other things. We also had Eat Your Heart Out do a peach blackberry crumble for our dessert, which was absolutely delicious. This is also a small family business, which was important for us in deciding where to put our money. Not only was the food delicious, but a thunderstorm rolled in just before dinner and the on-site catering team was incredibly agile and professional in moving the entire dinner setup from an outside garden to an indoor venue. Had they not been so skilled, dinner could surely have been significantly delayed. I could not recommend this company more highly (it even inspired me to write my first Yelp review). More...

Chloe and company do a great job with our ten plus events a year. The food is great but as someone who coordinates the details of an event I appreciate the reliability and professionalism of their staff...Tony, David, Meredith, et al!

I work with Commonwealth Vintage Rentals and I recently worked at an event that was catered by Eat Your Heart Out catering.  Monica and her staff were efficient and so easy to work with.  I saw glimpses of the food as it passed by and arranged on buffet and it was nothing short of gorgeous.  She had the most incredible serving trays and oversized rustic wood bowls.  I pretty much wish I owned her serving collection...I would definitely recommend her and her catering to anyone who is on the hunt for a professional, talented, and creative caterer. I ate my heart out with this catering company as I've had them not one but two times at two different wedding events and came away mightily impressed. Granted the menus were very different, one thing I can say for sure is that they food was consistently good and wonderfully prepared. The first wedding was in Bridal Lakes (yelp.com/biz/bridal-veil…), one of the most beautiful spots in the entire state of Oregon. Without a nearby kitchen to tend to and the wedding being completely outdoors, they still managed to hand out some delicious hors d'oeuvres' in the form of herbed cream cheese filled cucumber hearts and mini smoked salmon toast bites. During the entree portion, the memorable meal was their baked Pacific NW salmon with pesto and roasted potatoes, which was tasty all around. At a totally different, but in-town wedding I heard their name pop up again as the wedding MC thanked them openly and my pork tenderloin dreams were made possible and complemented by a delicious apple chutney. There was an Oregon wild mushroom rice pilaf that I had a few bites of and if it wasn't from someone else's plate, I would probably damn near finished the whole thing. What I appreciate about catering companies like Eat Your Heart Out is that they are a local caterer that utilizes local ingredients. A great taste of the Northwest with some dabbles of international fare goes a long way, but their simple meals and outstanding service make for a memorable experience every time. More...

Chloe and co. catered our wedding this past summer, and she was an absolute joy to work with.  It rained on our wedding day, which created a bit of panic for us, but she was very calm and reassuring as she helped us make sure everything would run smoothly anyway.  And, we received so many compliments on the food, it was all delicious!! If you ever have a wedding at Bridal Veil Lakes, Eat Your Heart Out Catering Company is a sure bet. It's a difficult venue to work with and you really need a caterer who knows the area. We had plenty of concerns going in, but were amazed at how smooth everything ran the day of the wedding. They are really flexible and let you call the shots on what you want. One thing we were told is that colder meals work better on this site. I really preferred hot salmon and chicken so I was pretty skeptical knowing the food would be colder than what I normally like. It turned out to be really good and the stuffed chicken had a couple of delicious sauces that I'd love to take home. The salad was awesome, too. It featured a bunch of northwest berries. I didn't get to try any hors d'oeuvres unfortunately. They did a great job with the kids, too, featuring a fun meal for them that all the parents attending really appreciated. The presentation of the food and tables was great. Everything looked really nice and professional. They did a great job running the bar and let us pretty much do what we wanted. We were able to bring our own alcohol as well as have some provided. You pretty much just need to decide how you want it to go and Eat Your Heart Out will make it work. The staff was just perfect. They were friendly, did a great job serving and were really great to have for set up and clean up at a site like Bridal Veil. The only thing I would offer as a critique is that it can be hard to communicate leading up to the day. It's best you just get on the phone and talk directly. I'm so used to email communication that I can forget phones work well, too. I'm sure they are very busy in the summer. Once you get to about 1-2 weeks from your wedding, the communication lines are wide open and we ended up getting everything settled. More...

Eat Your Heart Out catered my wedding last summer.  The food was excellent, and they did a great job of helping me think through the full menu.  They were respectful of our budget and very professional on-site. I appreciated that they knew my location, and could recommend how to arrange everything. The only very small drawback: they were a bit flaky on back-office stuff.  It all came through correctly and professionally, but they were a bit slow on email follow up and billing.  Still, a great experience and a great local company. Eat Your Heart Out is simply fabulous. Family, friends, and clients of mine have been using them for family gatherings, parties, and weddings for nearly 10 years. Every single EYHO meal I've enjoyed has tasted homemade AND gourmet. The food is always so fresh, incredibly flavorful, and the owners are wonderful people! They also have a wealth of ideas for vegetarian options. Try them, you'll love it. More...

I used Eat Your Heart Out for my wedding. I was flooded with requests for recipes after the wedding was over. Three years later people still comment on the quality and sophistication of the food at my wedding.
