They're not only an Indian grocery store but also cater. The shelves are clean, fully stocked and well organized. There's fresh savory pastries by the checkout counter for only $1 apiece (chicken, beef, egg; beef flavor tastes like pate chaud). Our favorite item here is their box of a 25 large frozen samosas. The owners are friendly and engaging. They plan to do buffet on weekdays, a la carte orders on weekends, soon. More...

Good place. HOWEVER I HAVE A MAJOR CONCERN ABOUT FROZEN FISHES IN PACKETS FROM INDIA. IT HAS BEEN TREATED WITH BAD CHEMICALS TO PRESERVE LIKE FORMALIN WHICH IS VERY BAD FOR HEALTH. This is not an issue with the grocery shop BUT THE IMPORTER SHOULD BE CAREFUL. WE WILL REPORT TO FDA IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND AGAIN AND THEY WILL LOSE THE LICENSE ! This madness of poisoning needs to stop ! FDA and USDA are not very strict about Asian food imports ! Unless there is an outbreak/epidemic or large scale food poisoning they won't catch it. The other option is to complain but the shop owner is innocent and will face penalties because of bad exporters. This is serious . More...

Went in to buy some stuff to try to learn how to make curry. A very helpful customer, as well as the man managing the store (owner? ) were extremely kind and helpful and saved me from hours of mistakes and frustrations! Showed me exactly what I needed and how to use it. Turned out DELICIOUSLY! Very friendly staff and excellent prices. More...

Today i was in the store longer than anticipated because Susan was so helpful by educating me on the types of spices and meat sold in the store. I went in for 1 item but 45 minutes later I left with $73.00 worth of spices and meat. During my visit I learned we work for the same employer so now I'm having a great conversation with a colleague. A warm and welcoming environment. Try something new....try East West General Store they will take great care of you. More...

This is one of the first Indian grocery store I have been to as a kid to now. Let me say they are very family oriented and friendly. The uncle that works there treats us like family that one day I forgot my wallet and he gave me the items for free, just because he knew us and knew this doesn't happen on the time. Of course my parents did pay him back for his generosity but the fact he gave it with an open heart made an impact on me personally. The place is clean and some times can be overwhelming with all the items but the staff members are loving. The food is amazing and the catering service has not let us down. Here and there food taste might lack depending on how busy they are that day but on the good days they have shown their talent in cooking. They were also our go to for Indian cosmetics and they do have most items imported from India. I personally recommended, they are loving and caring enough be helpful. More...

Went here today for the sole purpose of possibly buying Henna to color my hair with. The employees and owner were very helpful and friendly and my Nupur Henna was very resonalbly priced compared to the Patel Brothers grocery I use to have to drive out to in Irving. I will be returning to this store for more Henna in the future. Very close to where I live in Mesquite. More...

I had read online how healthy Indian gooseberry is (in terms of antioxidants), so I stopped by to investigate their selection. Imagine a bare shop with nothing on the walls, floors or ceilings, and begin adding merchandise, and that's how this Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi store felt. (I'm not sure about the actual origin country; I'm just guessing.) However, everything was perfectly organized, and it has been warmed by several key bits of decoration. The manager himself (somewhat surprised by a Texan and his Brazilian wife entering an Indian store) immediately came and walked us down each aisle personally! When he sensed we wanted some space, he immediately withdrew and let us browse. Obviously this place is competing with big box stores, so it doesn't have anything boring; everything is exotic. If you're tired of the norm and want great service, this place is for you! (Oh and we found the frozen gooseberries we were looking for!) More...

Really nice indian grocery store. Some of the spices aren't arranged in the order I would have expected but perhaps I'm the one that doesn't understand what the order should be. I needed several unusual spices for a couple of recipes and they had all of them. They are very helpful as soon as you ask for help if you're not sure where to find something. I just wish I had a clue what all the wonderful stuff they tastes like :-) More...

LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this store. Its my weekend pit stop for all things INDIAN. You name if they have it Spices + Fresh Indian Veggies+ Fish + Meat. This hidden gem, is in a strip mall, but dont be weary the customer service well makes up for that. This is a family owned business. I was very happy with the customer service I received :O), which isnt' very typical in many Indian stores. Make sure to check out the ready made snacks : Veggie Puffs OOOOOOOOOOOMMMGGGGGG. The store also caters South + North Indian Food.  I am in love with the naan. it makes me HAPPY...Also have a cute selection of  Soaps/Shampoos/ After its all said and done, make sure you pick up a "Frooti" Mango Juice Drink.. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! More...
