Q&As

For me it's a combination of several things.
Firstly the composition of the image I am to be taking. Anyone can take a picture of a beautiful landscape but, taking time out to visit places during different times of day or during different weather conditions is very important to understand light changes so as to get the best possible position to take the best most creative shot.
Secondly, in the interest of Wedding clients, Understanding exactly what the client requires. Gaining information from them. There likes and dislikes. This is important to giving them the best possible service.

There are many questions. Probably more than I could place on here but a few come to mind.
Apart from the most obvious being Names, Addresses and Phone numbers other questions would include:
1. What are their likes and dislikes? It's important to understand the clients mind.
2. What makes them relax? Whats their interests? What they do to calm down after a tough day? You could incorporate this into the composition.
3. What are there expectations from the Photography that you produce for them? Do they like Black and White, Colour or both? Would they like close up shots or full length shots?
4. Are they interested in a location shoot? A location that they both love that could be used in there day to be taken in between the wedding and the reception.
The same sort of thing can be asked for Christening clients.
5. What are the venues of the event? The addresses, contact names, phone numbers etc? This is important as I will visit the venues several times in the build up to there event.
6. What are the names of Bridesmaids, Best man, Maiden of Honour, Page boys etc? I like to try and get to know everyone involved in the day.
7. The names of the clients Parents, Siblings etc? So I have an idea of who I can use to gain control of young family members if they will not listen to me when composing the shots.
8. What extras the client may like? For instance, an Engagement shoot, Location shoot, an Album, Canvasses or Framing.
This is some of the basic I would ask.
Spending some time with the clients so they relax with me is important so asking the right questions and having a laugh with them is a must.

Oh, where to start?
Everything.
From dealing with the client to taking the pictures. From processing the images to the looks on the faces of the client when they see there finished product for the first time, it's priceless.
I was asked to do a Wedding for a couple in Lymmington a while ago. It took place in a beautiful Georgian Hotel. I stood behind the registrar during the ceremony to get the best shots I could of the Vowels and Ring giving etc. The ceremony was utterly beautiful and as the bride said I do she looked towards me smiled an winked. I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye at how fantastic it was. Now where in the working world can you get a feeling like that. It's wonderful.

Again, where do I start.
Prior to being a Photographer I was a retail Manager and then a Bus driver. Both jobs were high pressured but involved a lot of internal politics and struggles that were not to my liking.
I wished I could do something for myself!
Then I started concentrating more on my Photography as it helped me relax. Many people told me how fantastic the images I took were. After a while I realised that this was what I wanted to do for a living, so I went to college to learn as much as I could. I gained contact with other Professional photographers to learn the business side of Photography.
I learned to love it. It has taken me over. There is nothing more incredible than doing a job that you thoroughly enjoy doing.
Then the death of my father who equally loved photography pushed me to take the final step. I promised him that I would be a success and make him proud. I hope I have done so.
That's simply what inspired me to create my own Photographic business.

Because they will get what they ask for, done in a relaxed and friendly manor. No pressure or stress.
I love dealing with people.
I love getting to know everything about them.
I love pushing myself to the limit to provide them the very best experience.
Whether it's a Wedding or Christening, a Family photo shoot or a Prom, to see the look on my clients face when they collect there images is priceless.
I get great pleasure out of giving them everything of myself.
I deal with my clients in a most professional manor whilst also being relaxed and having fun with them.
Choose me and you will get all of the above and more.
