Deborah Welsh Photography has been in business for over 30 years. Until 2012 I had a studio in SF for 16 years. The building was sold and everyone had to leave. Rents were to expensive to carry on in SF. So now I am a location photographer and set up small studios or shoot with natural light.

Deborah did a fabulous shot for me. It was much more than I could have hoped for, as I consider myself not very photogenic. She is fun and inviting, which makes you feel relaxed, giving you a photo to be proud of. She is also an incredible landscape photographer as I got to see some of her work as I waited for the shot to be setup. More...

When it comes to a classic headshot, which is yearly for me in my business, call Deborah Welsh Photography Fabulous sitting for her and great captures were the outcome. As a professional, Deborah knows what the agents and pros are looking for. And with her encouragement and positive reinforcement behind the camera, got great results with a bit of coaching from her behind the lens. Quick turnaround with proofs and even quicker with the hi-res photos needed under the pressure of ASAP.I've also engaged her services for events that I produce, capturing the smiles, backdrops and essence of the entertainers I work with. For your next event, I'd go with Deborah to ensure your efforts are captured, for all to enjoy. I was so impressed over the past few years, I keep going back. We know there are many lens crafters out there pitching for business. I recommend Ms. Welsh with 5 stars plus. More...

Deborah has designed and photographed my holiday cards for the past four years. She is extremely talented, capturing my personality and style with ease. The reactions from my friends and family are positive usually resulting in a phone call from them! Comments like: "Who took that picture?" "Amazing" and "You never looked so good!" Mission accomplished! Looking forward to a continued experience! More...

I met Deborah at her former 340 Bryant St, (San francisco) studio, where she did fine portraiture and excellent product shots.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Having a connection with your subject. Does it have a WOW factor?
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I want to have a conversation with the client about.... what is their vision and their intention?
What do you love most about your job?
Freedom, people and being out in nature. I shoot mostly outdoors these days and use natural light.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always had my own business. Infact, I have 2 businesses. I am inspired by people and I inspire them as well. I like being my own boss, that's for sure.
Why should our clients choose you?
I like to have a conversation with the client and find out what they're about and what they want out of the photo shoot.
It's all about the connection and having it show up in the final images.
