We have used DVOC Photography since we moved to Raleigh. The pictures are amazing. She did a great job spending time with my kids and making them comfortable which led to amazing photos. Tamisha is a wonderful photographer! We used her services for maternity photos and will be using her for our newborn photos in the near future. She was extremely understanding and accommodating of our 7 year old during the shoot. It was obvious she is very good with children. She made all of us feel very comfortable and our photos look great and natural. She definitely got the feel of the photos I was going for and made sure we were happy with all the shots. Y'all - Tamisha is no joke. She is INCREDIBLE. 5 starts does not do her justice. I did the engagement photos, boudoir, and of course wedding photos through her.
Engagement photos were effortless. Boudoir - she made me feel awesome (and I'm not stick thin), she made me comfortable and sexy and my husband could not believe it was me in those photos! I haven't gotten all my wedding photos back yet, but the teaser photos were incredible.
Not only is Tamisha skilled in what she does, she cares about her clients. There were times I was sick while engaged and she recommended remedies, asked if I needed anything. When my back went out, she did what she could to help.
Two days before the wedding I saw these awesome cutouts of Mexican dancers (my wedding was on Cinco De Mayo), and I posted on Facebook looking to see if anyone could get it for me because both WalMarts I went to said no. Between her and my venue, they were able to get them and have them at my wedding! It was unbelievable.
If you are debating on who to go with for photographers, look no further - Tamisha is your girl!

We have had the pleasure of Tamisha joining our family as our photographer and now friend! Tamisha is a skilled photographer that really takes the time to get to know your photography preferences/style in addition to being a perfectionist.
I found myself saying "I'm sure it's a good shot" and Tamisha asking for a few more chances to get the PERFECT shot. As always, Tamisha always delivers.
We purchased a package which includes 4 sessions + 1 maternity. Since I didn't did want a maternity session Tamisha allowed us to apply that session to another in the first year. So far Tamisha has done our baby girls New Born Session (AND designed her announcement cards) and baptism photography. We couldn't be happier with how the pictures turned out.
Cannot wait to see where the rest of the year goes.
Tamisha is INCREDIBLY responsive by phone and email and text! She allowed us to proof the newborn photos together and her edits to the baptism pictures were amazing.
I have already recommended DVOC photography to all my friends! Without a doubt I know we made the right choice in choosing a photographer :)

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There are no secrets to taking a great photography. It's the connection made, understanding the client's needs and being able to execute those photography needs with skill and passion. You have to "click" with whomever you to choose in order for the magic to happen.

It really depends on the client and their needs.
What do you love most about your job?
Creating a relationship that goes beyond simply taking photos. These are moments that can't be had again and to provide those I work with, amazing memories is just an awesome feeling.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It sounds so cliche but my children inspired me. I started shooting 20+ years ago then had children and who doesn't take tons of pictures of their kids?? My children still inspire me! My oldest has learned videography and creates skate videos. And my second son is a photographer. They tell me I inspire them as well.

I like to keep it real!
There's never a dull moment. You won't be working with a bland and like dry toast personality if you get what I mean. If you are looking for a photographer who will bring passion, laughter, fun and skills to creating portraits....look no further!!! Also, I'm not just a "natural light" photographer...having knowledge of on and off camera lighting is imperative to providing portraits... and I think that's what sets me apart from others!! :)
