Depending on the nature of the existing garage you could go as far as a complete break out of the floor to suitably damp proof prior to 're concreting. New insulated internal walls to be erected, insulated floating floors to be placed, strengthen and insulate roof void. Close up any existing up and over doors, for any windows required. Plumbing and electrical 1st fixing, drylining, all 2nd fix trades followed by decoration, final fix and clean. Required stages to be inspected by building inspector as necessary.

Again, only by seeking professional advice from a specialist or architect/engineer. Most companies provide a free initial consultation.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Fit new joists, steels. Strengthen the existing ceiling chords. Make or form required stair openings and order stairs. Complete roof structure alterations forming new window openings as required inline with specialist drawings. Cover roof with new tiling or flat roof material, fit windows, stairs. 1st fix all trades, inspection, dryliner, 2nd fix all trades, decorate. Inspect. Depending on house type there may be requirements to upgrade existing doors to stairwell to fire doors and some ceilings to fire rated ceilings.
