I had an awesome experience working with Jackson and his father.First, some of the reviews here are quite perplexing. Jackson never made any representation of being a licensed engineer. If you do proper due dillegene you will notice that he lists his dad as engineer on his website.Another confusing review was that Jackson did not communicate with one of his clients . That is quite the opposite of what I experienced. I was in Indonesia and Jackson was always available via text and phone call. In fact, the day after hiring him, he was at the property and sending photos via text while also communicating within the barrier of the time zone difference. Besides that, I highly recommend this firm. Jackson was awesome... I had to fire another engineer and he cleaned up the plans quite nicely. In fact, esgil approved the plans on first review, which is quite awesome.I highly recommend hiring Durand Architectural Engineering. Durand is a great guy and is always available via text and phone. First and foremost, I did not personally hire Durand, my original contractor did. That contractor was fired but I retained Durand. I needed the service of an engineer as our project involved permitting some un-permitted improvements, an 1800 square foot shop and a rather large swimming pool. I had to get permits for those before the county would issue permits for our interior remodel, removing a load bearing wall, a kitchen soffit and raising the slab in the middle of our home 6 inches. Jackson helped us thru all of that. The county had us jumping thru some serious hoops to satisfy them. Some of it seemingly unreasonable. Jackson worked very closely with my new contractor and between them, they were able to satisfy all of the counties requests. Jackson had to come back out to my home on several occasions and made the long drive to Corona from San Diego. Most people would have thrown their hands up but Jackson never surrendered. I am very pleased my original contractor chose Durand Architectural Engineering, a company that demonstrated sticktoittiveness and outside the box thinking. If I need engineering in the future, and Jackson is willing to make the drive, I'd hire him in a minute. Thank you DAE. More...
